Orange County Mining Co is proud to be open from 12:00pm to 9:00pm for Mother's Day 2021, featuring beautiful indoor and outdoor dining overlooking Orange County. Please note due to county restrictions, we will be offering a special all-day dinner menu with no traditional brunch buffet. Thank you!
Was supposed to be a birthday surprise and was a frustratingly bad experience from beginning to end...
1. Forced valet park (charged) during covid even when we said we did not want anyone in the car.
2. No salad or soup bar even though we were told there was an open salad and soup bar when we called to confirm
3. We reserved a window table and were taken outside through heavy gravel and no railing on an edge wearing heels. This was unacceptable, then taken to a table outside on a patio in a corner. Again unacceptable due to the cold and not what was reserved. Ultimately we were given a window table.
4. The service was lengthy, but friendly. We had to request salt and pepper for our meals as nothing was offered. At this time, after asking abt the salad and soup , we were told no salad or soup bar and no longer do you get both with your meals. Either or, or pay for separately.
5. When the birthday ice cream was brought, it took over 5 minutes to get someone's attention to bring spoon since none were brought with the ice cream.
6. The meals were unbelievably delicious but unfortunately did not make up for the misleading information and over all bad experience
We would not recommend for a planned evening out but more of a last minute unplanned dinner that you have no expectations.
Awesome view and great food and drinks!! Would definitely go back!!
My fiancé and I had a nice evening celebrating 3 months until our wedding. We are getting married at the restaurant and it was just nice to be present there
Friday nite for a sunset dinner with my wife. Sat outdoors with a great view. The service was very good, attentive and quick. The meals (baby backs and salmon) was excellent. Fall off the bone with a great flavor. The drinks were a different matter. Jack on the rocks and a Cosmo were both watered down. The Jack looked like a short pour with added water. Cosmo was weak and tasted watery. At $16 per, you would think the drinks would be substantial. Go for the wine... still steep, but no water. Prices for the meals were a little on the high side, mid 30's for each meal, but they were excellent.
I would recommend this place, but be prepared for a pricey evening.
We came here for our anniversary like always during sunset and it was fabulous as always ❤️
We were really impressed by the quality of the food and the friendly service! Our meals were delicious (prime rib, scallops, grilled artichoke for appetizer). The cocktails were well-balanced and refreshing (Tennessee Mule, Whiskey Sour, Old Fashioned). Let's be clear, this is not a 'value' restaurant. You're paying for the view. However, we also REALLY enjoyed the service and the meal. We will be coming back!
Great food and service. We just wanted to relax and take in the view. Only minor issue was we felt a little rushed as all our food came out super fast. Hadn’t finished the salad when the dinner arrived.
The prime rib was very good and also the coconut shrimp appetizer
We celebrated our 17th wedding anniversary. It was lovely as when we celebrated our 1st anniversary there just with our 2 kids this time. The staff was great and very attentive and the view as picturesque as always.
We had an appointment for 6 pm on 4/7/21, we got there 5-10 min early. We got seated right outside the bar area. We sat, and sat and sat and sat some more. Finally around 6:30 I asked one of the servers if she could tell or server we have been sitting there for 30 minutes with no one coming over to ask us if we wanted drinks or anything. She said there was a miss communication between servers who was going to take us. Seems weird that they all didn't notice we had been sitting there with menus and no drinks for that long. She then took our drink order, and then or order. Our salads came out and I had to ask for some cheesy bread (one of the man reasons we go to the mining company) we love it. Normally as soon as you sit down you get the bread. This visit was not up to their normal standards. We have been going there for over 20 years for Birthdays and anniversaries. I even got married there. Was not impressed. With the money that is charged, I expect good service. When I filled out the online reservation. I notated it was for my birthday. There was no acknowledgement of that at all.
1985 called and it wants its restaurant back.
A very dated menu of mediocre food at highish prices. Our party had prime rib, steak, chicken and ribs and nothing stood out as worth $35+.
View is nice but restaurant just looks old and tired.
We had a wonderful dining experience. The food an view were spectacular. The sever was so nice and friendly. Great Day!
Service , food and view hands downs the best in OC
We spent our second Easter in a row at Orange County Mining Company and we had a great time. The Food, Service and Views are amazing. I had the Filet Mignon and the Chocolate Chip Cookie Skillet for dessert. Everyone said their meal was cooked to perfection. We'll be back!
Very nice way to spend Easter with our little family
Went there for Easter dinner. Was very nice.
We had Easter Sunday brunch but because of Covid they were just serving their regular menu. Food was good but cold when we received it.
Mgr. noticed that my elderly father had problems walking in immediately escorted us to a table near the entrance.
Excellent customer service!
We celebrated a special occasion and were outside on the gravel patio. We enjoyed the view and service! It was a memorable evening worth repeating!
Server was great but hostess forgot we were waiting in the bar for an outside seat. We ended up inside after we reminded her & it was nice either way :)
I found this restaurant on yelp and seen it had a beautiful view and great reviews so I thought my boyfriend and I give it a try. This was our first time coming here and the experience was amazing! The restaurant was clean, we sat outside, the view was BEAUTIFUL! The staff was great and very attentive. The food quality was exquisite and worth the price. Definitely recommend if you're looking for a nice night out.
One of my favorite spots to eat and watch a sunset.... you’re going to pay a little bit more for the view but sometimes it’s worth it!
Took our daughters there for the first time and it was wonderful!!! Prime Rib was great!!!! Dessert was amazing!!
Where to start.... promptly seated on a Sunday evening, outdoors. Great view, one of the reasons for going.
The service....the waiter was very nice, just not particularly competent. Salads arrived before the drinks and with no utensils. I had to ask for silverware, odd since one assumes it should be there. I had to ask for a dessert menu and also, after 30 minutes of it sitting there, asked if someone might be interested in clearing the dishes. Then of course the dessert dishes weren't cleared either and I had to request the check. I sort of expect silverware, dishes cleared, dessert menus and the check each time I go out to eat. One shouldn't have to ask at any restaurant but particularly not one where the check is $250 for 4 guests.
The food.... plenty of hot cheese bread that was delicious. Salads were ok. Steak , the filet, was very good, except they poured an orange color sauce over it and called it béarnaise. It was not. It was orange, not the correct color, trace amount of tarragon, it just wasn't béarnaise. It really ruined my steak. Mashed potatoes were tasty but chilly. Mac & cheese was bland. Cheesecake was average.
So I probably won't go back.
What’s better than a beautiful view from the hills in Orange where you can see downtown LA? Food was awesome, staff friendly and service good. Get there in time to catch a sunset!
Celebrated my 43rd Birthday and the service was excellent! They very accommodating and the staff were very friendly and attentive.
Good food, great View. No mask pushers, thankful for that. Service was a tad slow but overall a good experience.
Date night with hubby!!!
Great view and you have to try the prime rib
Nice birthday dinner with my family. Thank you to manager who offered to move us to a booth with gorgeous views!
Good food, great staff. Always a good time when my buddy and I meet up for dinner at the OC Mining Co.
Good food and service. Miss the pitchers of drinks though.
The food was outstanding! The steak, lobster and the service! Salad great!
What a wonderful experience at this restaurant! Delicious food and drinks, great service, and a beautiful scenery!
Nice restaurant with a mining theme and a great view of Orange County.
Absolutely a wonderful place to enjoy delicious food and relax with a close friend! The view is spectacular! So make sure you select outdoor dining! Highly recommend!
Great location, outstanding service. The manager was very accommodating. The service, food and staff were very friendly. I highly recommend for special occasions or a good diner with family and friends. I’ll definitely return.
It was a lovely evening. I will be coming back soon.
I feel your paying for the amazing view. The food was over priced for the quality of meat and fish you get.
The food was delicious but service wasn’t that good. I had to wait 12 minutes for my drink. Our waitress seldom checked if we needed anything and when we did, it took a while for us to get it.
