As always, great lunch options at reasonable prices.
Great place for quality meal from casual lunch to fancy dinner that you can count on to be great every time. Table cloths, formally attired wait staff, music, fine wine, fireplaces for ambience or warmth in winter and reasonable prices. Can't beat it.
We love eating at Opus9! The atmosphere is great! Our service is always good and we love the the seafood bisque, get it everytime. we have benn there several times for a special occasion and everyone is always so thoughtful. Thank you for a great anniversary,56years,luncheon!
Always enjoy going to Opus 9 for any and all occasions. I was a little surprised that with a 12:30 lunch reservation and the restaurant wasn’t crowded , my party had to wait 10 minutes to be seated.
Elegant anniversary celebration. Gift certificate from some of our children
The service was fantastic! I really enjoyed being referred to by name for our entire meal, it felt very personal and not just another table in other restaurants. The food was delicious however it is a little pricey. Definitely not a place for young children , it was quiet and peaceful and I could actually speak to my date with virtually no background noise .
I hadn't been to Opus 9 in years and was glad to see it was as good as I remembered.
The one thing that annoys me about this restaurant is there insistence that you cut into your steak to verify that it was cooked properly. They are supposed to be experts in steak and cooking it properly shouldn't be in question. I guess it's a gimmick, but I find having a server stand by with a flashlight while we check our steak annoying.
Great Sunday Brunch with lots of variety. Expen$ive!
It's a nice restaurant but probably a bit over rated. It's hard to find if driving in and not familiar with the area. Better signage from the street would help. Waiter appeared inexperienced. Did not bring us bread until requested. Reached over my plate several times. Brought out my oysters before my salad; I wanted them both at the same time. I asked for a knife, which took a long time to received, and I asked for more salad dressing, which also took a long time to receive.
I may visit again, but it will not be high on my list as some restaurants instantly are when I visit from out of town.
Graduation celebration luncheon food was wonderful and service was supurb
This restaurant is at the top of my list. Cody, our server, was excellent in every respect. Attentive, but not hovering. Great suggestions. My husband was very impressed with the French Press coffee. I had the Opus 9 Cosmo and it was refreshing and smooth. We started off with the scallops appetizer. the scallops were crispy on the outside and moist interior. the sauce was delightful and not too overpowering. We split the Warm Spinach salad and there was definitely enough for two. The croutons were crisp, not hard, the bacon was tender and blended well with the spinach. The dressing was not too harsh so the flavor of the spinach came through. We also split the Bone-in Ribeye, medium-rare and it was done to perfection. The meat was very tender and juicy. Don't touch the plate! We actually had leftovers, which we brought home to Chicago with us. There were excellent the next night. For dessert we indulged in the macadamia nut pie and it was simply to-die-for..
Ambiance and service is very nice, appetizer, side dish and salads were very delicious but as far as filet or steak and lobster goes, the flavor is sub par. I honestly have had better flavored steak at Texas Roadhouse with a better value for what you’re getting. The lobster has came out chewy and hard the past few visits to the restaurant. Maybe try a boiled lobster approach compared to grilled. Presentation of the entire meal and each dish is very well laid out by an experienced chef, just maybe not one with an expertise in beef or seafood products. Overall I give the restaurant a 3 of 5 stars for excellent service, clean and quiet environment, and being up to date with technology for online reservations. 1 star down because of value of what you get, and another down because of the food — it’s a steakhouse with $60 steaks that can’t cook the best steak I’ve ever had. Texas Roadhouse steaks for less than $30 are more rich in flavor and much more tender.
Awesome in every way!
This is a favorite restautant of ours here in Williamsburg. Always good food, pleasant atmosphere and superb service!
My husband and I like to visit when we vacation in Williamsburg as a dining treat. The surf and turf special was, without a doubt, the best filet mignon I have ever had. Service was impeccable, and James was very attentive and did a great job. The restaurant is very clean and well appointed. I also judge a restaurant by how attentive the management is to the cleanliness of the rest rooms, and this one makes the grade. Not the cheapest food in town, but definitely the best !
We had a lovely table and great service from Dylan and newbie, Danielle.
Anniversary dinner. Everything from food to service was near-perfect.
Guys weekend gol
Our waitress Anna was awesome checked on us made sure that things we didn’t like were not on plate
This was my first time at the restaurant and I was very pleased, everything about it was excellent. I will be coming back
Loved it, from jersey and whenever my husband and I are in Williamsburg, we are sure to stop by opus 9. Excellent service and food.
Creative menu with delicious food. Good atmosphere with attention to details. This is always a "must" for me when I'm in the area.
Food and service were excellent. Went there for lunch and they have a really nice lunch menu with very affordable prices.
Lunch with friends. Always good here and very reasonable with many selections. Dinner great as well
We had reservations for a Sunday evening. My husband chose the 3 course special they offer on Sunday & Monday evening consisting of a salad, lobster tail, two 3 ounce filet medalions, and a dessert. I had the 8 ounce Filet Oscar. The special was a disappointment, the steak meat was tough and tastless and lobster tail was small. My Filet Oscar was delicious, and my husband ended up eating half of mine because the portion was large. Also, they have 50% off wine bottles, but no one told us. We wopuld have ordered up if we had known.
My husband and I dine here every time we travel to Williamsburg. The food is fantastic and we always try and take advantage of half-price bottled wine nights!
My wife and I go to fancy restaurants on special occasions. I've been to competitively good steakhouses. I've been to competitively good seafood places. Not naming names. But by the steaks standards, I've had better steaks from a rival and its a no brainer. I've had better scallops and crab cakes at a good local seafood restaraunt. The bread was 4/5 star. Opus 9's shrimp was the best i had. But its a steakhouse. Make me WANT to go back for your steak. And overall, its good, but in comparison to rival steakhouses its a let bit of a let down especially when it cost slightly more. I feel that taste wise, doesn't match the price. The service was great. The staff was friendly and very good. But I probably won't be going back if I am paying. At least 2 of their rivals have them beat in flavor on a lot of the things on the menu.
As always, the food never disappoints. The service was a little off and that is unusual. The server brought bread, asked if we wanted water, took our drink order. We received our drinks, and then a little later finally got a glass of water.
At the end of the evening, we both only had the first bite of our dessert, and she brought our check. Too slow at the beginning, too fast at the end. Maybe she had too many table that night.
Of course we'll return.
Opus 9 is a great special occasion restaurant. The ahi appetizer and cowboy cut rib eye were out of the world. Strongly recommend.
Good was great and service was awesome. Lobster and steak cooked perfectly. Oysters were excellent. Desserts were good.
Opus 9 was recommended by a friend and after a challenging day at Williamsburg we were so pleased with the attention we received from Cody our waiter
my cocktail was amazing I had a boulevardier which was served tableside our appetizers were very good and the steaks were the best we have had in a long time. the atmosphere was lovely a little old world touched with a little edgy. dinner was probably the highlight of our trip and if we ever get up to Williamsburg again we will definitely have dinner at Opus 9
One of the best steaks I’ve ever eaten!!!
Everything was outstanding except for my waiter (James). I was dining alone, and he looked through me as though I wasn’t there. Did not check on me, and was otherwise rude. I told a manager at the time. Would return for great food, but never w/that waiter.
The four of us ordered seafood Trio, Opus 9 shrimp, ribeye, and the special Rockfish plus drinks and coffee. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience and every bite was world class flavor.
Best all around meal, service, bread, mushrooms I've had in a long time. We both had the salmon this night.
My husband and I went there for our 20th wedding anniversary, and they did not disappoint. We both agreed that our steaks were some of the best steaks we have ever had. The staff was so attentive, and nice. Thank you for making us feel so special, on our anniversary. We will be back.
The food was perfectly cooked and absolutely delicious. Our waiter was the best part of the evening. Perfect blend of being appropriately attentive but not hovering.
We celebrated our anniversary at Opus 9 and enjoyed excellent meals, attentive service, and a delightful atmosphere.
