   I went there to celebrate my 60th birthday and had a wonderful time. Our server provided excellent service. Food was exceptional and ambience is unbelievable.

   Server was inconsistent. Never offered to refill our wine glasses or circle back to see how our meals came out. This was after she mentioned that she wasn’t busy due to it being a week day. Unsure if there were specials because they weren’t mentioned. Very disappointed with the service considering its “fine dining.”

   Opus 9 has excellent food and impeccable service. My only complaint is their French press coffee service. It is gritty and muddy tasting. Get rid of those presses and use brewed coffee in insulated decanters. I will not use Open Table again because this was a birthday celebration where at Opus 9 the birthday person would have a birthday card with their name on it on the table. That is not possible with Open Table because there is no capability to enter the name on the website; just that it's a birthday celebration check box so Opus 9 has no way of knowing the name of the birthday person and can't prepare the card.

   Extremely disappointing experience at Opus 9. 1. We requested a booth and a cake but when we told that it wasn't reserved "because they missed it in the reservation". 2. We received water but drink orders were not taken until after our food order was taken and we stated what we wanted to drink. 3. Soup was brought out but no soup spoons, we had to request them. 4. When we got drink refills, only two of the three drinks were brought out. The third drink had to be requested. 5. When the entrees were brought out the server had to ask who was getting which entrée. 6. When asking for our dessert orders, we were not asked if we wanted coffee or other beverage with the dessert. Throughout the meal we had to listen to shouting coming from kitchen. The food was unimpressive. Based on the online ratings and the price point of this restaurant our experience was unacceptable.

   We have been coming here for several years. This time just not up to their standard. Creamed spinach and risotto not good at all. Steak flavor was a little off. Low on flavor and big on cheese.

   Ordered the Australian lobster tails for $92. I ate less than one half one one tail. Got back to our accommodations and discovered how much of my meal was missing ($$$). Husband went back, explained what happened and they told him it was the error of the busboy. Our server Austin btw was impeccable. They didn’t offer a discount/refund/ offer of something else. We don’t live in the area, but was told they’d make it right next visit. And what are the chances anyone will remember and are good on a $92 lobster dinner?

    George, our server, was excellent as always. Never missed a beat. The steaks were especially outstanding this visit. We dine at Opus 9 every time we visit Williamsburg and the experience is always great. This trip the cowboy ribeye and the petit filet were both the best they have ever been.     Not as good as usual. Crab cakes had shells in them. Have gotten better food in the past.

    Usually, whenever our family travels to Williamsburg, we enjoy dinner at Opus 9. On this trip, we opted for lunch and Absolutely enjoyed our midday meal. A terrific menu, and as usual excellent wait staff. Addy did her best to accommodate our dining needs. Will definitely continue to recommend Opus 9 to others.

    The manager and staff were very accommodating. As a group of “golden girls” this was a perfect setting for our monthly gathering. The food was good and the pricing perfect. All but one of our group is from Richmond and we felt it was worth the road trip.

    This was the fanciest restaurant I've ever eaten at. The staff were amazing and attentive. The shrimp cocktail, steak, lobster, and side dishes were amazing. The cheesecake wasn't great. If you want the chocolate cake be sure to order it with your meal, I wish I would have known and gotten that.

    I come to Opus 9 quite often but this time I was quite disappointed. The service was slow and my food ended up being cold when it arrived. I didn’t have time to address in the moment but this wasn’t my best experience at this location

    Great business dinner! Oyster appetizer is soooo good. Everyone loved their entrees, ranging from filet prepared rare to perfection, seared Tuna, and the spectacular porterhouse seared so deliciously. Riley has been at my table several times and brings a warmth and charm that makes it so enjoyable to dine here.

    I had the seafood trio, the shrimp were similar to frozen farm raised shrimp you’d get from a grocery store. The crab cake was fairly small, mediocre at best, the scallops were seasoned and cooked really well. My side was macaroni and cheese, possibly the worse I’ve had anywhere. I’d just as soon eat Kraft from the box, it was more akin to macaroni salad with a watery dressing, completely flavorless. My wife enjoyed her lamb chops and she said the scalloped potatoes were good as well. She had a completely different food experience with her meal as I did with mines.

    Unfortunately, this experience was not very good. Our server, Sacai ( spelling?) was quite rude, and the entire experience felt incredibly rushed. We had a 1:15 reservation ( birthday celebration) and at 2:10 we were being told “you know, we close at 2:30”. Then, our server began loudly moving around dishes while clearing tables, and giving us the nasty eye roll like we were the largest inconvenience she had ever experienced. If they don’t want people to be in the restaurant they shouldn’t grant reservations an hour before they’d like to close. In addition, the host staff was equally rude upon arrival, and outright nasty to my husband who only walked in at 2:25 to see if we were still there. Overall, I feel like my sisters birthday was ruined, and like the entire event was a waste of $160. I’m not sure we will be returning any time soon, if ever frankly.
