I had the shrimp opus which was advertised as jumbo however they were really small. The crab meat did not have much filler which was a plus. The ambiance and service was nice as always.

You forgot my 81st birthday ! Started with a shrimp cocktail, some wine, then a 20 ounce filet with Bearnaise sauce, asparagus, with Hollandaise sauce, a baked potato, and finished with a creme Brulle. Fantastic meal, as always at Opus 9.

We had the 3 course special offered on Sunday and it was great! Have been here many times and have tried many different things and all were fantastic. My favorites are the filet mignon, stuffed shrimp, scallops, crab cake, seafood bisque, and calamari. Our server was great!

My wife and I had a date night last night at Opus 9 and we were pretty disappointed with the quality of our food. The ambiance and service was fine, but they should never outshine the star of the show, which is the food. First, our salads (wedge and Caesar) were both browned and we’re not fresh at all. These are the salads I would expect at Applebees, but not at a fine dining steakhouse. My wife had the shrimp opus which claims to have 7 jumbo shrimp. They were far from jumbo, just regular shrimp with a very bland presentation. My steak frites was fine, and the steak was actually better than I expected, to be fair. We didn’t want to complain and mess up our romantic vibe, but we both left feeling a little blah about the whole experience. The $200 price tag (with tip) should have afforded us a better experience. As new residents of Williamsburg (our 2nd time visiting this restaurant), we’d love to look forward to a nice experience so please raise your standards a bit. Thanks.

Very nice place with good service. I ordered steak medium. It came to me medium rare. The steak was tough. I even had a hard time cutting it. For $75 steak i did not expect that. There was also a dead fly in my water. For high end restaurant i expected it to be better food.

We have been to Opus 9 a number of times and have enjoyed it every time. It is actually our favorite restaurant. Tonight was no exception. The crab cake dinner was delicious, as was the seafood trio. The ribeye was on point although I did not care for the butter coating that was added. I could have gotten it without the butter but wanted to try it. We will definitely be back.

It was our second time here, and it was another great experience! My girlfriend had the Cote du Rhone and enjoyed it very much, while I had a local Virginia craft beer. We shared the oyster appetizer. She had the seafood trio and I had the Cowboy steak. Both were excellent, and nothing was left on either plate. We then shared the New York cheesecake desert. Our server, Juliana, was very attentive without being smothering. She earned a large tip for excellent service. Can’t wait to come back!

Lovely evening. We frequently go there for lunch but with the special dinner offer we decided to give dinner at Opus a try. We are not steak fans so both ordered crab cakes. My husband ordered the fried oyster appetizer. Not sure if there was much oyster in the breading. The crab cakes were decent but tasted more like pasteurized crab vs fresh. I’m from Maryland so I’m picky about crab. My Caesar salad was rather bland. Overall the dinner was a disappointment at those prices. I think we’ll stick to lunch at Opus9. A much better value.

My husband and I LOVED our experience at Opus 9. All the food we ate was excellent. My favourite dish was the caramel pecan Brie - it was TO DIE FOR! Also the butter that comes with the bread at the start of the meal was divine. The table was beautifully set, the ambiance was lovely, our server Markus was great - I really wish we had a restaurant like this close to where we live! We were amazed that our bill wasn’t nearly as much as we assumed it would be, that was the icing on the cake. We would eat here regularly if we lived nearby!

We had two of the lunch specials. The chicken pot pies was, as usual, very good. The Reuben, however, was extraordinary. By far one of the best Reuben sandwiches I've eaten, to date. Nice, sophisticated atmosphere and impeccable service.
