Horrible service. For this type of establishment, the service should be stellar. Empty water glasses, plates were left on the table and we only saw the server 4 times; greeting, drinks/appetizers, entrees and final check. Unacceptable.
Outstanding food as usual. Filet was cooked to perfection.Cody is, by far, the best server we have had in any restaurant. Always on time with help but never too many times.
He is one of the big reasons we return to Opus 9, besides the food of course!
This was my first visit to Opus 9. I usually go to Schlesinger’s the sister restaurant. I thoroughly enjoyed Opus 9 and I will go back to try them for dinner. We went for lunch and I was very pleased. Food was excellent, service was outstanding and the atmosphere was great!
Everything was very good, as usual. As local, frequent customers, I was surprised not to receive the usual complimentary birthday dessert treat, since it was my birthday and we were there to celebrate. Disappointed.
Excellent food and service. My go-to place for good value snd food.
Food was excellent. Little pricey for frequent visits. Wine prices out of line. No happy hour??? Service was excellent.
Excellent food and very economical for lunch. Makes everyone feel special because not many individuals experience fine dining.
Great menu choices for lunch - service excellent - very much liked the quiet environment
Pleasant restaurant, good service, disappointing food. The fried chicken sandwich, for instance, was dry and over cooked.
We enjoyed a delicious lunch. The petite tenderloin was perfectly prepared as was the fresh tuna served as an open-face sandwich on a fresh roll. Service was outstanding in every respect. We need to come here more often!
Opus 9 is wonderful for lunch excellent for dinner, but for brunch it is very disappointing. The food was unimaginative, overcooked, and generally tasteless. We will return for sure but not for brunch.
Our server, Matthew was great. Food was wonderful and felt safe with all staff masked.
Wonderful but dining room was too hot in terms of heat
Service was great - Kristin was my waitress. The meal was delicious. I had the sea bass and it was prepared to perfection.
We had excellent service. The flavor of our steaks was delicious- in fact the best ever. As a very nice extra was given a sinfully good chocolate dessert.
The cut of beef was not the quality I am accustomed to eating.
Everything was perfect.
From the moment we entered, we were greeted with a warm and friendly hello. The staff are so pleasant. Our food was delicious.
Great service and great food. Highly recommend for lunch or dinner.
Simply the best food and service in Williamsburg.
Oscar our server was great!! Food was absolutely wonderful. Very classy restaurant!!
From beginning to end, we had a wonderful experience. Our server was amazing; the food was delicious and the atmosphere was lovely. Hope to return soon
Server was good, but did not present us with the specials (soup, fish, etc.).
Chocolate lava cake was very bland...cake had not real flavor. Tiramisu was one of the worst renditions I've had...I wouldn't call it a tiramisu at all, but rather a cake with a very dense icing (the ricotta flavor just wasn't there).
Filet mignon, garlic mashed potatoes and squash were all excellent.
Everything blended to equal maximum efficiency and effectiveness. Server Amber excellent, food delicious, and pace perfect.
Opus 9 was very busy at 1:00 on a Tuesday. The menu for lunch is extensive, with soups, salads, sandwiches and entrees. They also offer specials. The food and service were both very good.
As always, we enjoyed the service, the setting and especially the food. Love Opus 9.
Everything went extremely well. Good food. Great service. Awesome experience.
I will have to say that this was one of the best meals that we have ever had together. We highly recommend this place for a special occasion, or just somewhere you want to get away with someone special.
Opus 9 is a delightful restaurant for a special (or normal) meal.
It was an absolutely wonderful evening. Our serve Brandi was so friendly and was very attentive. The ambiance was so nice, there is not a bad table in the whole restaurant. The food, wow! We had the peppered sea scallops, french onion soup, opus salad, two 6 oz. fillets and one 12 oz prepared perfectly. The sides; seasonal vegetables, mashed, and au gratin potatoes were yummy. We had the chocolate Concerto and crème brûlée with the opus 9 millionaire coffee drinks, everything was so delicious. We have dinned here now 4-5 times and we are never disappointed. Looking forward to our next meal.
Great food as always. Elizabeth, our server was fantastic.
Started our brunch with dirty dishes at our table- not very appetizing.
Our server, Elizabeth was great!
Not too impressed with store bought pastries for a pricey Sunday brunch, but most other things were good. A shrimp cocktail would have been nice rather than dried up fish dish. Just okay overall.
I always have a great experience at this restaurant. This was a pre-Christmas date and initially they had very few reservations, but I called the restaurant I was able to move my reservation to an earlier time. The drinks were excellent, everything was going well, and then I heard what sounded like a dog violently scratching. My date and I made eye contact because we heard the same thing at the same time and we’re trying to figure out where the sound was coming from. After hearing the same thing a few more times, it was obvious that there was a dog under the table directly beside us. The diners then all began playing with the dog under the table and I was getting very irritated until the dog came from under the table a few times and I saw that he was a service dog. I don’t know what the rules are for service dogs and dining establishments, but I know that they are the only animals permitted. Honestly, it ruined the whole experience for me. I don’t mind dogs at all, but I don’t feel that I should have to sit next to a petting zoo while spending $200 on a meal. It was my date’s first time at Opus 9 and I thought I’d be able to add it to our list of places to go, but now he’s not interested in ever going back.
Grey food great time with family. Staff were nice and on top of everything! Great people sitting around us and was a nice Christmas atmosphere.
Food was not good. Steak was tough
We truly enjoyed our meal as well as the magnificent service provided by Jessica
We have gone to opus 9 every time we are in Williamsburg since we fist discovered this restaurant- we typically go around Christmastime. The food and service are always excellent, and it always feels like a special night out when we go there. The Sunday brunch is one of the best I’ve had. Also, coming from the Washington DC area, the prices are very reasonable - we would spend so much more going to a similar restaurant at home. This time we had the Caramel pecan Bri and the bbq shrimp appetizer- I’m vegetarian so only tried the brie and it was amazing. I had the opus 9 salad and their house basil vinaigrette and it was one of the best dressings I’ve ever had. The vegetarian pasta was delicious and a large portion. My husband and daughter shared the tomahawk steak and still had leftovers - we had the baked potatoes, au gratin potatoes, fries and a seasonal carrot dish as sides- they were all great. Dessert was the tiramisu, cappuccino, and the Parisian coffee. Be sure to order the bananas foster cheesecake when you arrive as it takes them a while to make it. Opus 9 is one of our favorite restaurants anywhere- we have even gone to dinner and the back again for brunch the next day!
Attentive waitstaff Great cocktails Perfectly done food
Perhaps our waitress was having an off night. She asked to take our order without telling us the specials. Did not tell us about them until we asked. Never mentioned 1/2 price wine night until after taking our order but did ask numerous times if we wanted to order wine. We waited a long time for courses and when brought by other waiters our filet was cold and mixed up mine with my sons which was medium rare. We also waited a long time for our dishes to be cleared and because of that we decided to just celebrate at home and had deserts to go. I felt she was disappointed that 3 of the four of us had the land and sea special. We didn’t have this experience the last few times we came, different waitress and waiter, but honestly don’t feel we will be back.
Thank for your post. I am sorry to hear your recent visit with us did not exceed your every expectation. If ever any part of your visit is not just as you enjoy, we hope you will let us know when you are here. We will do all we can to see that you leave us satisfied. I have left a voice mail message and look forward to making amends in person. We look forward to the chance to change your impression of Opus 9. Sincerely, Jessica Smith Director of Sales & Marketing
