Opry Backstage Grill at The Inn at Opryland Ratings and Reviews
We went here early afternoon on a Sunday, no singing wait staff, it was not crowded at all. Food was good, nothing special, but good and tasty at a reasonable price. Wait staff was good, and met all of our needs. Would go back if we're in the area again. I had the Meatloaf and enjoyed it.
We decided to pick this restaurant since it could accommodate the party of nine we had at the last minute. We had to return one of the entrees of fried chicken at first because it was not done all the way. The replacement piece was fixed correctly and tasted pretty good. Everything else was kind of bland and average tasting. The service was slow and our waitress seemed to disappear for long periods at a time. The decorating was pretty lively and neat to look at. Would return if staying in that hotel but probably not other than that.
We were from out of town and saw online that you had live entertainment and that our waiters may be singing. There was no one singing there accept a video playing at the stage. Our waitress never came around for drink refills. The reason we went there was for entertainment. Very disappointed.
It was Thanksgiving, so our expectations were not super high.
The food was good. Service not so good. It was not crowded but I felt that our server couldn’t care less. He got us our drinks and the next time we saw him he dropped to bill. I understand no one wants to work on Thanksgiving... but he should have at least tried to be personable..
We ate here prior to the concert at the Grand Ole Opry. We wanted somethings easy and not too busy. Nice quiet place for an early dinner. Live music was entertaining and good quality music. Drinks were cold and food was rich with flavor. We were celebrating our anniversary, we received free piece of wonderful cake.
It wasn't what we expected at all. Made reservations for Saturday night. We thought we'd walk into this lively, hopping place. It was quiet with a lot of empty tables. The one person we heard sing was okay. Props to anybody that gets up on stage. Service was okay. The food was bland. Buttermilk fried chicken was dry. Macaroni cheese was chunky, thick like it had been sitting a while. Green beans were okay. Needed salt and pepper for some flavor. My husband said his ribeye was okay. His sweet potato was burned. Maybe they didn't have a good crowd that night, but everything just seemed...lacking....
Our food was fine. Really loved the Brisket and the pulled pork, as well as our side of cole slaw. A few things surprised us, and not in a good way. We had cocktails from their specialty menu (mine was something with strawberries and moonshine, and my daughter had something with watermelon) Both seemed very "under poured" and overly sweet. Not expecting that from a featured cocktail. We only had one each. Second, we ordered chicken wings (12) as an appetizer, and the three meat platter (ribs, pulled pork and brisket) to share as an entree. It came with two sides, so we got the Mac and Cheese and the cole slaw. If you like a sweeter cole slaw, this was great! The mac and cheese was OK. However, the chicken wings came out at the same time as our entree. They didn't even go together as a meal, since the wings were Buffalo and the meats were Tennessee BBQ sauce. I was so disappointed, even though we ended up getting them boxed up to take back to our hotel. Our server, as sweet as she was, was really sub-par. It wasn't terribly busy that night (a Monday at 8:15) but we waited a long time for our waters we asked for as soon as she came to take our drink orders. We never got a refill on the water, and being a 93 degree day, we could use the extra water! She should have checked on our wings, and made sure they were coming out first, so it wasn't the food runner's fault (he was great, actually, getting us the missing sauce, etc) that it all came out at once. The server left to go on stage to sing, and she had a lovely voice, but it is disconcerting when you want a glass of water but your server is singing a song instead. Service, I think, really needs to be emphasized here. We did get the Dolly Parton Banana Pudding to go, and it was quite good.
The atmosphere is casual, nothing fancy and had a lot of older couples in the night we were there, and many seemed to be having a good time. We liked the different sort of atmosphere, obviously appealing to the visitor to Nashville.
We sat unattended at our table for 25 minutes. No server, no help at all, not even any eye contact. I had to go find a server to help us. Truly horrific.
Once I convinced a server to help us, she was great, neka was her name. Fun and friendly, fast and courteous. Totally saved the day!
The restaurant seemed to be having a lot of problems and we could here other tables making jokes about going to Wendy's instead.
Our food was tasty and that's all good. Maybe they were low on staff
