Our experience here mirrors our service. Food is always decent. We’ve gotten the same server the last few times. We will continue to go back because we live close and want to support local.
We probably had the best pork-centric meal in our lives! We had the chef’s special: pork medallions with porcini crust and spinach gnocchi. The pork was cooked perfectly: medium-rare, so tender, and had such a nice crust on it from the porcinis. The accompanying wine sauce was creamy and delicious. Gnocchi divine.
Excellent server—pleasant, knowledgeable and kept our water and tea filled without asking. SO worth the drive from Cass County!!!
Perhaps the best steak in Kansas City area. I've never had a bad steak. The surf n turf is outstanding and the pork medallions with gnocchi very delicious. Love this place for a normal Friday night to celebrating a special anniversary or graduation. Always enjoy the musicians. Overall just a great place to be.
Enjoyed the entire occasion. Food was excellent and service was great. Excellent experience.
The family went to Mother’s Day brunch at Ophelia’s. We were seated in the back banquet room which does not even begin to have the ambience we have been accustomed to at the restaurant. While we felt like we were seated in a sea of people and the noise level higher than normal (which meant 1 person in our party who is hearing impaired sadly unable to communicate), the food was excellent and the choices plentiful. The wait staff was slow in bringing drinks to the table and we attributed that to the sheer volume of guests. We had been to brunch there two weeks earlier and I assure you the service was impeccable at that time. Ophelia’s is and will remain our go to spot for the best brunch in the KC area. However, we will rethink our options for huge brunch occasions such as Mother’s Day as we simply did not appreciate the seating arrangements or the slow service.
Went there for Mother’s Day Brunch. The food was fantastic and the atmosphere was great. The buffet price was a little on the high side, but we enjoyed the experience very much.
Took the entire family for Mother's Day Brunch...my husband and I go for our special dates like anniversaries and Valentine's Day...we love the brunch! Being Mother's Day it was very busy- but they were prepared and had several buffets set for the occasion. It was nice and other than one employee (she was seating groups) showing a little impatience with my disabled mother for being slow with her walker it was a perfect time. Now that said it was very busy and we are a restaurant family so I get it and that is why I let it slide. The food and wait staff made up for that little black mark and everyone had a good time.
We enjoyed a lovely birthday dinner for my husband with another couple. The food was excellent as was the service. We would definitely recommend it if you're in that area.
Ophelias is our favorite place for sunday brunch. The food is really amazing and there is a fabulous dessert bar.. we have had great service every time we have been there. highly recommend!!!
As always - food, service and atmosphere was excellent.
If I had never been previously, I'd never go back. But, since I have, and know the food is usually good, I will. Service was very poor. After 15 minutes I went to the bar and ordered the drinks the server never put in. Other issues as well. But, normally it's good.
Delicious drinks and appetizers! Generous pours as well!
Ophelia’s is just a top notch place. I have eaten brunch, lunch and dinner there. The setting, service, acoustics and food are all excellent. Still my favorite restaurant in Kansas City after many years. ❤️
Server forgot request several times. Our table was quite slanted, couldn't put much weight without feeling like it was going to tip over. Usually very good service and atmosphere. A little loud this time. Amazing food!
Enjoyed our dining experience! Nice variety and creative!
My girlfriend and I were the only customers in the restaurant for dinner. The hostess/waitress did not know how to use the iPad at the host station so we waited as she tried to assign us to a table on the tablet. She informed us she did not know how to use "this damn thing". The free bread and flavored butters were good and came quickly. Our chorizo dip appetizer was large enough for 3-4 people and enjoyable. We then had a very lengthy wait for our main courses to arrive. Once we did get our food, my girlfriend's steak was undercooked. My steak was overcooked, tough and fatty.
The staff were all loudly talking in a group at the bar right behind us the entire time we were in the restaurant. We heard a profuse amount of cussing and complaining about not being able to go have a smoke. They were too engrossed in their conversation to even notice us leaving and say goodbye or thank you.
I really wanted to enjoy this place. We visit the Independence Square area regularly to go to the Rheinland, Cafe Verona, Square Pizza, etc. We will sadly not be making Ophelia's part of that rotation.
Amazing as usual! The staff makes this place my favorite....always top notch and the food is always amazing!
So yummy! Our entire meal was amazing. Service was excellent. A true gem!
Our food and service were excellent. Our only complaint was that the live music was very disappointing. The piano player, unfortunately, could not keep time. Drove the musicians at our table crazy. Other than that, it was a lovely experience. Food was great and our server was outstanding. Thanks
The food was excellent. Our particular server must have been having a bad night. She wasn't very talkative or attentive, but we did see several other servers who seemed to be enjoying their work. It was also very warm inside. We happened to be right next to the thermostat and it was set at 76!! But I will definitely give it another try. They could've just been having an off night.
Our server was excellent!! Food was great!! Love the place!!
My wife and I live this quaint and comfortable restaurant. Great food, drinks, live entertainment. You can enjoy, have a conversation and still hear the music.
Ophelia's is always a hit! Their service and food is top notch and they handle large parties very well.
We’ve been to Ophelia’s many many times for dinner, but decided to go for brunch today and it was FANTASTIC! We both opted for the buffet (surprising since we usually steer clear of all buffets) and everything on it looked so good. The variety was impressive - ranging from 5 or so salads, breads, smoked salmon, bruschetta, bacon, eggs, biscuits & gravy, french toast, chicken Marsala, Brussels sprouts (literally the best either of us have ever had!), prime rib, lobster macaroni and cheese, custom ordered omelets, and then a dessert spread with probably 15-20 options. We didn’t have a single thing we weren’t impressed with and our server Nichole did a great job on keeping the table cleared, & water & breakfast cocktails full. The bottomless mimosas were great and I appreciate the fact they allow you to switch them up with each refill (cranberry, grape, orange, pineapple fusion, etc). While the music wasn’t live this morning, the piano was still playing music and lovely to listen to while we ate. Despite the crowd, I never saw anything ever get empty on the buffet. We’ve been checking out many brunch options in KC for the last several years and hands down this one just became our favorite! Definitely worth checking out!
What a wonderful Brunch, lots of salads and other goodies. Especially liked the shrimp and grits also the omelette bar. A good value...
Ophelias is wonderful. The food isvery good. Ot is a fine dining experience.
Wonderful evening with delicious meal. This is a favorite restaurant for us.
I believe this is the best brunch in the greater Kansas City area. All foods are fresh and includes homemade breads.
Our waitress filled our water glasses once. We didn’t see her again and waited 20 minutes for her to bring our bill.
My first time here. Will definitely return. Great food, presentation, & service.
In a KC Metro known for steak, Ophelia’s stands above them all! Excellent filet mignon!
We always enjoy dining at Ophelia's. I had the special pistachio encrusted salmon on the Lent menu. Excellent. Waitress Katie was fun.
The food is excellent along with service and atmosphere. We have never had a bad meal eiteh for lunch or dinner.
We had the steak and lobster Valentine’s Day special. It was just okay, but I have eaten there on other occasions and it has been phenomenal. I would still recommend the restaurant to others.
Forgot how good this is. Hard time making a selection due to the various options. Short braised beef risotto was the best I've had. Service was responsive for a busy night (Valentine's Day) and the background music was a nice touch. We'll be back.
It was a date night with my wife and our two daughters (5 and 8) for Valentine’s Day. It was my daughters first “fancy” dinner and the entire staff went out of their way to make it a special day for all of us.
One of our favorite spots, come hungry the food is amazing!!!
We have been here dozens of times over the past few years; the kitchen was off this visit. The Chateaubriand was quite good. The seasonal risotto was runny and flavorless. The veggies were over cooked and mushy. The salads were lovely. The server forgot our appetizer. We chose not to bring this to his attention as he was in training and did a terrific job, other than that. The manager was friendly and quite pleasant when delivering our bottle of wine. We chose not to stay for dessert.
Searching for a great sunday brunch spot....well......maybe not exactly! Food was "good" though the breakfast hash brown were not brown, just gummy! Great selection of foods though, nice sweets collection. I think the wait staff were short handed due to the icey weather though. While VERY polite and informative they were stetched pretty thin.
We've been coming to Ophelia's for a decade and will keep checking in.
