Ophelia's Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
My husband and I went to Ophelia's during KC Restaurant Week for a birthday dinner. It was our first time dining there and we were not disappointed! The food was amazing from start to finish. The restaurant was clean, the staff was so friendly and professional, and the ambiance for a romantic birthday dinner was perfect. Definitely a great place to celebrate a special occasion!
We like that the menu is updated with new offerings. The lobster dip appetizer was very good with ample amount of lobster chucks in it. Keeping with a seafood theme I also had the new crab gnocchi small plate - lots of flavor and good portion for a “small plate”.
As usual, we had a GREAT time at Ophelia's! Food & service, EXCELLENT! All staff very polite, efficient & friendly. Katie, our server . . . WONDERFUL. Will, bartender/mgr. also fun & efficient. Thanks for a wonderful dinner & evening. Live music (piano & bass) great too. [Stayed the night at the B&B . . .also, great. Thanks to all . . .
Enjoyed Sunday brunch as a pre-holiday get together with a friend. Very enjoyable! Tho our waitress was quite busy. We never felt ignored & used plates were removed while we were @ buffet for next course, enjoyed some time honored staple breakfast offerings and others unexpected. Felt like it offered healthy alternatives to normal breakfast/brunch fare...we’ll return!
A friend and I were in Kansas City for a concert and were looking for a meal before going to the concert. I checked Open Table and found Ophelia's. The menu looked intriguing and they had an opening at the time we needed. The restaurant is cozy and the food was fabulous. They had 2 different parties in their private rooms and were still able to serve our food in a timely manner. Our server was attentive and answered all of our questions. A guitarist was playing Christmas music which was a bonus. I would return to Ophelia's in a heartbeat. It was a wonderful discovery. I would highly recommend trying it.
Very upscale without making a normally not upscale working class guy feel out of place. Great and helpful staff. And food that at first your like will that work together.... Then your like OMG that is amazing a step above. Glad to of got a chance to taste something without ranch or A1...
Outside from where we were seated, everything was fantastic (wine, appetizer, main course, piano player,...). This was our 22nd wedding anniversary, I had booked this restaurant weeks prior, mentioned the special day and had asked for a secluded table. Didn't get one, and (not that I was looking) but received no "special treatment" for our big day (maybe a dessert to split or something??). Just a mention would've done the trick.
We celebrated our 26th Anniversary at Ophelia's. My husband had the Ribeye special and I had the Chateaubriand. We had a fabulous dinner cooked to perfection. Dessert was a plate of everything Chocolate. I was in heaven. Service was great. Can't wait to go back.
We started our Tuesday evening with Mushroom Rangoon Rolls--perfectly flaky phyllo dough and wonderful filling. Then the Ophelia's salad--fresh greens with delectable smoked plum dressing and caramelized onions. But the best was yet to come: Chef's Special of Steak Tips, Mushroom Risotto and Horseradish Mousse. Oh my! This was possibly the best restaurant dinner I've ever had in my life!!! The steak was cooked to perfection--medium rare, juicy and so, so tender. The risotto was creamy soft with the subtle earthiness of the mushrooms. And the horseradish mousse was just the right amount of spiciness. The blend of all 3 was just divine. Our server, Caitlin, kept our water and tea glasses full and she was prompt when we asked for more bread.
We have always loved Ophelia's.............and this dinner made me want to eat there every night.
The Brunch was amazing. Very affordable. That said even though the price was low there was an amazing variety of food. There were a lot of breakfast items but a nice variety of lunch items as well. Felt very balanced and everything we tried was delicious. We were too full to try it all though. Wonderful staff- family friendly- but also great for a brunch date. We will for sure be going back!
We came here for Sunday Brunch before heading to the Truman Library.
There were so many choices in every category from eggs to salads to meats
Everything was delicious.
Again many choices for desserts, all good but the German chocolate cake was extraordinary!!
First visit ... attended after local Wine Festival on Saturday afternoon. Party of 4 from Lees Summit had not been there before but had "heard good things" which can end up being a disaster... i.e high expectations. Very pleased that the food was awesome... wife and I both had Mahi... it was some of the best we have had anywhere in the country let alone Midwest... friends got steaks and they said they where great.
Appetizer was a chorizo and cheese dip... really good as well. Good selections of beer and wines.
Waitress was really good humored... and attentive.. this is the perfect low key , great food and drink location.
We will be back!
