Beautiful view and great food. They extended their savor sarasota menu option during the summer so I felt like we got a great deal that abled us to try more of what they offer for less! :)
Food was fabulous but we both got sick when we got home. Not sure what went wrong.
We had absolutely the best server. She made our night!! Food was delicious and cocktails phenomenal. Can’t wait to go back the next time we’re in town.
Second time we have come here since staying at a condo on Siesta Key. Anyone we take there talks about how amazing the food is. Our waiter took our picture for us and was very attentive. We will be back next year.
Ophelia’s food is always good. We visited for Father’s Day and the the food did not disappoint. My son had the filet which he said was tender and cooked just right. My husband loved the snapper and my shrimp scampi was cooked perfectly. We each had appetizers that were also wonderful. The lobster bisque was rich, with several chunks of lobster waiting at the bottom of the bowl. The beet and chèvre salad was very generous, 3 thick slices of beets and lots of goat cheese with a nice balsamic glaze. The PEI mussels were nice and garlicky. Our desserts of creme brûlée and key lime pie really made us overly full, but worth it. And last but not least was the martini (?) Pear Desire. Dan, our server, was attentive and very helpful.
The only disappointment was the lack of sufficient a/c. It was a hot day and we arrived around 6:45 pm. When we walked into the restaurant, it was very warm and the thermostat said the temp was 83 even though it was set for 71. There are not enough fans and the a/c is woefully inadequate for the size of the room. In fact, the whole decor is in serious need of renovation. The heat, the faded posters and the dirty paint definitely diminish the overall experience. It’s hard to recommend a restaurant that costs $60+ PER PERSON for an appetizer, entree and dessert (w/o any and before tax and tip) but doesn’t upgrade its a/c and freshen up its appearance. Still, we will go there on occasion, but I hope the owners will spend some money on fixing it up.
Celebrated Father’s day on the patio with a great view. Savor Sarasota menu in effect all summer. Excellent value.
We always love going to Ophelia's! The food is always delicious and exciting!
We were celebrating Father’s Day.
We had the perfect round table in a corner with a view
of the water and were fortunate to have the best server,
He gave us recommendations and took such wonderful care of us.
This was the first visit and it will not be our last.
Seated at a table in a corner with poor ventilation (AC issues with no fan nearby) making it uncomfortable and challenging to enjoy our anniversary dinner. We have dined here for special occasions before and never had such an experience.
Loved the whole experience. Our server was terrific.
We have been here several times for Sunday Brunch and it was excellent. This time it was dinner. Everything was fine but the inside table was near the door to the outside seating. the HVAC could not compensate for the heat from the constant comings and goings of wait staff. it was very uncomfortable and there are no AC vents near that door.
I made a reservation this past weekend to celebrate Father's Day. I was not aware, nor was I made aware, that the restaurant had what effectually was zero air conditioning. As a result, as I was eating it was so hot that I started to get sick. My very expensive celebratory meal was ruined. I will not be recommending this restaurant to anyone any time soon. At the very least management should provide their guests with notice of this considering the extreme heat.
Superb inland waterway views and well presented good quality food.
Nothing less than absolutely amazing!
Excellent service, fine menu, good for special occasions, family gatherings. No complaints.,
restricted parking, complimentary valet parking. It deserves its excellent reputation.
Everything was excellent.
Ophelia's on the Bay is a gem of a restaurant for both the menu choices and water view. While one can eat inside, the outside dining is relaxing as well as romantic. The menu offers interesting and unique appetizers and entrées. The entrees consist largely of fish and seafood dishes, but there are a few meat and poultry choices. The gulf triggerfish was excellent.
This was my second visit. Both times my friends and I really enjoyed the cocktails with the water view and the food was delicious both times. This most recent visit however we were less than pleased with our waiter. He was nice enough but we felt he was more about getting it over with vs. providing a great customer experience.
Had been wanting to try Ophelia's for a while. Setting is beautiful and the staff is great - very attentive and professional. My husband & I both had the drunken lobster bisque which was very good. My entrée was triggerfish, which was slightly overcooked, a little dry - disappointing. My husband had the breast of duck which he thoroughly enjoyed - it was cooked well and the blueberry compote was very tasty. We both really enjoyed our desserts - chocolate mousse cake and key lime pie, which were both delicious. Based on my husband's opinion of his entrée, I would recommend. If we hadn't visited during savor Sarasota, I would have been more disappointed as Opheilia's is rather pricey.
50th Birthday celebration
Celebrating our 48th anniversary and the experience couldn't have been better. Great food at a reasonable price, nice setting on the water and excellent service. We'll definitely return and recommend to others.
We love Ophelia’s and appreciate that they offer a Savor Sarasota menu so we can go on a regular dining day, not just for special occasions. We’ve celebrated engagements, double birthdays, graduation and just plain happiness.
We ordered two appetizers, two entrees , two martinis and a glass of Pinot Noir in celebration of our anniversary. All were excellent.
The signature Escargot appetizer was a great concept - making the most of the realization that escargot is a fine vehicle for a great, savory sauce - a sauce that, at its best, one feels compelled to sop up with bread. In Ophelia's version - the nage is exceptional in its robust garlic flavoring and perfect consistency - and the bread is "built in" to the dish by way of a delicious brioche. Plaudits!
The Chevre and Beet salad was fresh and tasty with a not over-intrusive dressing.
The Chilean sea bass was cooked to perfection & the preparation was tasty and balanced. The Ahi Tuna was perfectly cooked with a generous serving and artful presentation.
Our waitress, Stephanie, was knowledgeable and upbeat, attentive but not obtrusive.
The ambiance is aided by sunset views of the waterway and a relatively subdued level of ambient noise.
All and all - a most pleasant and gratifying experience.
Perfect for a night out
We were seated about 10 minutes late despite having reservations and were seated at 2 tables despite there being only two of us which was awkward. Other than that food and service were great.
My bad for requesting waterside instead of outdoor seating-6:00 seating too early for that in June, would be great after 7:30 or so. Could not be moved, it was still Sarasota warm outside!
Food & service was great, Ophelia’s is simply an excellent restaurant with a fine Savor menu selection.
Ophelia’s is always a highlight during our trips to Siesta Key. If you have children that are used to finer dining experiences then you should not have a problem bringing your kids. Ours are 10 and 8 and they enjoyed the steak and pasta. My husband and I both had the lazy lobster and it was fantastic. We both loved the calamari appetizer, the artichokes with the fried calamari was outstanding. Save room for dessert!
Always an awesome meal at Ophelia's on the Bay. It doesn't matter what you pick because everything on the menu is fabulous. Try and save room for the key lime pie (guaranteed to be the best ever). The view is spectacular. We eat at Ophelia's every time we visit the area. I can't recommend this restaurant high enough. I promise you won't be disappointed.
Great service and delicious food!
Great as always.
A waterside table for 2 to celebrate the birthday, and fabulous food and service. We'll be back for sure!
We are never disappointed when we go to Ophelia's and especially when Savor Sarasota week since you save at least $40. And the selection on the menu was wonderful!!! Such a beautiful view of the intercoastal and the wildlife! Highly recommend it!
Excellent as usual. We’ve eaten here numerous times and have always had a great meal
Some of the Best Seared Ahi Yellow Fin Tuna. Melts in your mouth, Delicious !!
Enjoyed the dinner but waited to long for my food. We were given a complimentary drink but I was still disappointed.
Beautiful scenery on the bay and the dining experience was incredible. Eggplant crepes were small but worth every bite. The shrimp and grits is one of the better seafood dishes I’ve ever had. Drinks and desserts were also excellent. Will definitely be here again when we revisit!
We were celebrating our daughter's birthday and a family gathering including two small children. The staff was very accommodating in getting us a round table for the 7 of us, and serving our food in a timely manner to keep the kids happy. We were able to walk around the restaurant with the kids without bothering the patrons too much. There is a beautiful view of the water on the inner coastal waterway and tables outside. Every staff member we encountered greeted us with a smile and a helpful attitude. We will definitely be back.
My husband and I went to Ophelia's during Savor Sarasota. You get a fantastic meal for a reasonable price. We enjoy going to Ophellia's as it is one of the few high end restaurants on the water. The food, wine and location make it one of the best restaurants in Sarasota.
Birthday dinner, great time, food and ambiance great.
Excellent meal with stunning views! Particularly enjoyed the lobster bisque.
