Ophelia's Electric Soapbox
Music schedule and ticket purchases can be found at opheliasdenver.com
Ophelia’s has taken many forms: located in the historic 1894-era Victorian Airedale building, it was a brothel, turned peep show, turned adult video library.
We serve as a restaurant, bar, and live music venue, with a boudoir-style
décor that honors the building’s past; and Ophelia, the muse. Continuing the Edible Beats tradition of delicious, responsibly-sourced food, the upscale, gastrobrothel-inspired menu will include fresh, craveable takes on flatbread
pizza, small plates, burgers, and shareable charcuterie boards.
My husband and I have been going to brunch at Ophelia’s for years and I’m so bummed that things have changed so drastically. As soon as we arrived we were told by the hostess that she would need our table back within an hour and a half. Honestly this was the first time I have ever been told that at any fine dining restaurant. Not to mention we had made reservations two weeks prior and it was our first brunch out since our little one was born so, I was a little upset. And, not to mention that they weren’t remotely busy and had numerous two tops open and no one waiting when we left. Ugh!! As far as service, our waitress was wonderful but, our mimosas were weak, our cornbread was way too dry and our brunch portions were so much smaller then they were in months past. My chicken and waffles had one fourth of a waffle and my husbands meal was half the size it was normally. It’s sad because there are a lot of great options in Denver where we can spend under $85 and stay as long as we like so, it makes it hard to want to come back. 😕
This place is soooo delicious! The super sex machine totally blew my mind. The food was good too especially the pepper poppers and the chicken and waffles.
We arrived for an early reservation, 5:45, and were pleasantly surprised that the noise level was not overwhelming. We were able to converse easily, early on.
The service was excellent, the wait staff was knowledgeable, attentive and polite. We had great food and our server answered all my questions about gluten-free, easily and completely. I highly recommend this for gluten free or vegan diners.
The only issue was that, as the evening progressed, the noise level grew exponentially. Eventually we were able to converse, only with great difficulty. We were seated at the end of an aisle, on the way to the kitchen, so we may have been in a relatively quiet spot. There was a speaker overhead, near the table, which contributed to the increased sound level.
Overall, each of the four of us had an excellent meal, that was enjoyed greatly.
My girlfriend and I had dinner and saw Patrick Sweany at OES to celebrate our anniversary. We were late for our reservation, but the manager treated us fantastically and found us a table with an amazing server, Chelsea. They treated us like friends of the owner and really turned our night into a never forget experience! The food was unique and tasty. The venue was full of cool ambiance, and the sound for the show was amazing. It's nice to go somewhere with someone special and know that you'll have a great experience. Ophelia's is one of those places!
What a fun place to take my friends who were visiting from Texas!!
Birthday gathering. Food and music by Javi were amazing.
Loved this place! My meal was so delicious and our server was so nice! It was definitely loud but a very unique experience. If you are going with more than 3 people, request a booth or table instead of side by side seating!
FOOD WAS GOOD. WAIT PERSON CHARGED ME FOR CHAMPAGNE INSTEAD OF PROSECCO. WAY TOO LOUD. COULD NOT HEAR THE PERSON SITTING NEXT TO ME. DONE WITH OPHELIA'S. WON'T BE BACK.
The Pink Floyd brunch event was super fun! The noise was a bit loud, but that was to be expected! My only complaint was that the host told myself and my party that we needed to finish brunch by 12:15 pm from our 10:30 am reservation. I don't think I've ever so quickly been asked to leave a restaurant upon arriving. Having that be the second thing the host said to me was very off-putting. We left at 12:15 pm anyways and it wouldn't have been an issue...otherwise, I loved our Sunday brunch. Ophelia's really knows how to brunch! Great food and great price for bottomless mimosas.
We were somewhat disappointed in the mismatch between the songs played by the DJ and the songs that typically go with the movie. Also, we were hoping for some dancing. Sad and alarming movie....side note.
I’ve been a repeat customer for over two years and this weekend’s visit was the worst experience ever! Not only did the menu change drastically, the service was terrible and the live music has been removed from their preview. They’ve lost a longtime customer!!!!!!!!!
Amazing food and entertainment! It was quite warm which we could probably attribute to the unseasonably warm day but I’d dress in layers in the future just in case.
Went for dinner and ended the night dancing downstairs
I have mixed emotions due to my waitress. We were there for a birthday and she seemed uninterested to be there. When it came time to pay the bill we payed with cash and card and somewhere between the table and where she went to pay some of our cash disappeared. Might go back if we are sat with a different waitress. The other staff was very kind.
We went for Sunday Brunch and live music, and it was the best! I love everything about this amazing place.
This is a lovely place with eclectic decor, comfortable seating and a wide variety of fresh, flavorful menu options. We enjoyed a delicious brunch with blood orange bottomless mimosas featuring fresh squeezed juice. Our server was attentive without intrusion which is always a difficult balance. All staff members were genuinely welcoming and competent. There is a high degree of cleanliness from the bathrooms and kitchen to the spotless plates, utensils and glassware. I highly recommend you stop by for brunch and a show. We will definitely be returning and plan to check out the dinner scene. What a special restaurant and venue!
Sad to say that my recent Ophelia's experience was far more disappointing than my past experiences. I will say, we dined on a busy Saturday evening, but just ran into so many issues from start to finish. We had a reservation but were not seated for about 15 minutes after our reservation. Next, our server took a good 10-15 minutes to even come over and when we put in our cocktail orders we waited another 20 minutes. All for one of our drinks to be made completely wrong. We could tell our waitress was flustered and slammed, but she never once addressed how busy it was. Our group would have been much more understanding if she had. The food was underwhelming. Not the quality or unique twists they used to have. Definitely will not be rushing back.
Worst service I have ever had in my life but the food was really good and the space itself was fun and funky.
This place is a "must see" when in Denver. Venue has such a cool history and I'm sure the entertainment is outstanding. We went for brunch and it was super fun and the food was exceptional. The plantains were one of the best things I've ever eaten.
You can’t go wrong with Ophelia’s for a great date night. The food is inventive and delicious. We made a reservation at 7pm before our 9pm show and it was perfect. Can’t wait to get back here!
So fun! Great service even on a busy busy night. Love how they have Incorporated the history of the building.
Really enjoyed the restaurant the food and people were great. As far as going to see a show there will never happen again and I will not recomend that venue ever!!! I'm in a wheelchair and the elevators were blocked on both floors. There was no room for a chair so got shoved in a corner.
Show was not what we expected
What an amazing venue. I’m a big fan of Mr Cucci’s concepts. The hostess was very friendly and accommodating. The manager James was top notch and extremely nice ! Our server Mara was wonderful and professional. Thank you. I will definitely come back. I’m in the service industry management for an international company and can be picky but I loved every minute of it.
This place is just flat out awesome. Go, try different food and drinks you may not normally try. Enjoy the unique ambiance and relax. Our server Jo was spectacular! She even gave us recommendations for a night cap at another really cool location nearby. It was a fantastic dinner experience!
Great food, prices for food were normal but drinks (wine) was high. At times it was a little loud, could not hear to talk.
Amazing staff! outstanding service and the entertainment was refreshing. This is the BEST brunch location
I love Ophelia’s but the brunch menu just isn’t as great as it used to be. With all of the other options in town, Ophelia’s has gone from one of my favorite brunch places to one that I’ll go to if the other places can’t fit me in.
We had a great time at the 80s night! Great environment for drinks or even dinner! The staff was very accommodating to seat us near the stage. Love this place!
We love Ophelia’s. On this night, service was very slow. Otherwise it was good.
Super fun place great happy hour
Delicious food! Our whole party enjoyed their food. I got the 600 degrees Asparagus. Most amazing flavor. It was so fun to have the music. Very loud and hard to have a conversation without really projecting so we mostly enjoyed the music and food. Great ambiance, the whole place felt very custom to Denver. Trendy places pop up constantly, and I love those, but this place felt authentic to the city.
The experience was a bit awkward at first. We made our reservation through open table for 8:30pm, and show up right on time. We check in with the hostess, an older woman with short hair, and she said “we will let you know when your table is ready”. Ok, no prob, we went and sat at the bar and ordered two drinks - $30 for two drinks.
After 30 minutes of waiting for our table, my husband went back and she said “I don’t know when your table will be ready”. There was a crowd of people waiting that was told the same thing.
What’s the point of making a reservation?
We finally found someone that was able to get us our table. From there, things were on the up and up. Our server was amazing, very attentive. And the food was great. They don’t use a ton of seasoning, but instead combine different foods to create flavor. It’s really good, but I can see how some may find it bland.
The music was fun and energetic, not my style, but fun. Definitely geared towards an older crowd. My husband and I are in our early 30s and were some of the youngest ones there. But the atmosphere was very energetic.
Very expensive place, but it was fun. Not sure if I would come back, but open to it for a different band.
Amazing food in such a unique place! Service was exceptional (Grace was our waitress and had excellence the suggestions and was so kind).
Although too loud for a conversation, great fun listening to live music. Fabulous food. As a vegetarian I am rarely happily surprised ... I was beyond happily surprised !!! Great place.
I love Ophelia's! I've been here a number of times and every experience has been great. The food and drinks are always delicious (though not cheap, but it's worth it here!) and it's a wonderful, intimate, quirky venue that often features well-known artists at a fraction of the cost of other venues. I love the spunk and energy of this place and will be back.
Delicious food and cocktails.
It was SO LOUD we left before the show started. Food was great. Who the hell does your sound?
