It was my birthday and I made reservations via open table and received a phone call from the restaurant confirming my reservation, on the day of the reservation. When I got there they informed me they do not use open table only Yelp. And about 20 people were in front of me all with reservations. The ladies at the desk informed me that the restaurant was converting to Yelp and will not take Open Table. I informed them nevertheless that I received a call that day confirming my reservation and someone should have informed me at 1:30 when they confirmed my 6:45 pm reservation. I also mentioned it was my birthday and showed her my phone call from Open Sesame to confirm my appt. I also responded yes to my reservation when I was texted that afternoon.

They ladies came through and got me in for a table for 2 about 15 past my reservations.

Thank you ladies for handling the large waiting crowds and getting me in.

But someone should contact Open Table to let them know that Open Sesame should be removed from reservation capabilities to avoid over booking.

My partner and I eat Mediterranean food regularly, and we agreed that the food at Open Sesame is the best we've found in this category. The falafel, the babaganoush, the tabbouleh, all were outstanding in flavor, freshness and seasoning. We will definitely be back!

Delicious as always! We come here regularly and are never disappointed. Hard to vary from the staples we love but I'm always glad when I do.

Definitely make a reservation or be prepared to wait a bit.

I’ve been going here for years. So good! Love their garlic sauce, moist chicken, rice, and salads! We sat outside and our table was a bit wobbly which was a bummer, but they tried to fix it.

Lunch with friends - an occasion to celebrate. Greeted by name by Olivia and given choice of tables. Hot day,we chose inside. Cool decor, great ambiance. Started with baba ganouch - excellent. One of our party lived and worked in Middle East, so praise indeed. Potatoes came with most wonderful garlic sauce. Chicken tawook plate and chicken shawarma both excellent. Tabbouleh to die for, perfect blend, perfectly dressed. Small choices of wine, but excellently chosen. Turkish coffee and ice cream( pistachio, rose water and almond)finished a perfect meal.Great service from attentive wait staff. Highly recommend this wonderful gem.

I have had quite a few friends recommend Open Sesame to me in the past and I am glad I finally got to experience it. I enjoyed a delicious Americano while eating a plate of their famous potatoes. I ended up getting Ali's Favorite for my entree with spicy hummus and the house salad. Excellent!

We had a wonderful time at Open Sesame with our friends. We ordered from the Dine LBC menu which featured a 3 course $25 dinner plus a couple of appetizers. I loved the Chicken Tawook, a flavorful and juice chicken kabob with the 2 sides baba ghanouj and Fattoush salad. It was delicious. I would order it again. We sat inside and it was a little bit of a tight fit with a table next to us so close that it would inconvenience them for us to leave our booth. that would be my only complaint. Otherwise, we had a top notch server and the meal to match.

Seated right away with reservation, water and bread appeared quickly, server took drink orders soon after we were seated, and appetizers we ordered arrived shortly after we ordered. The entrees were tasty and portions were well sized. All food was presented well and water glasses were kept filled throughout the meal. Overall, a very nice meal with good service at reasonable prices.

Really wanted to like this place because of the reviews that I had seen so I suggested to meet a business colleague of mine who was in from out of town and this place was the half way point. Reservations made on open table. Got there in time. Decided that we wanted to sit outside, the table was roomy and the weather was nice. Only one other table seated out there - we got there early. To which the 'hostess' said, are you sure you wouldn't like to see the table inside that I have reserved for you? We said, sure, since she sounded like she obviously went through a lot of trouble. Wrong - she opened the door and pointed to the second table in that was little more than a bistro table and right in a high traffic area. We'll sit outside, thanks. The food, while authentic, really doesn't possess a 'wow' factor. They got my order wrong - wanted the kafta plate with hummus and baba ghanouj as my two sides. I got the kafta plate with salad and hummus - they apologized profusely and brought out the baba ghanouj. The food was tasty, don't get me wrong, just not worth the 45 minute plus drive up there. Parking is a pain. If I had to sum it up in one word, it would be 'meh'.

Had a great time! Definitely reccomend sitting at the bar. It shows the kitchen and it's really neat to see how these guys work. Don't be afraid of a little noise and some hustle and bustle- it adds to the experience and we were never rushed. Great spot.

We had a reservation at 7:00 but arrived a half hour early. They were able to seat us within a minute or two even though they were busy. Wednesday is 1/2 off bottle of wine night and is a good bargain. Food was delicious as always! I recommend the Fried Potato appetizer with Garlic Sauce.

Hands down the best Middle Eastern/Lebanese food we've ever had. Chicken Tawook, Kafta, Lentil soup were amazing. Tender moist chicken, juicy well spiced kafta. Hummus was yummy and even the side salad had extra herbs. The Mint orange blossom tea was the perfect beverage to go with our meal. We live in Colorado but will dream of Open Sesame until we go back to Long Beach. Thanks.
