Opa
Walk-in seating is available at the 24 seat bar and offers the full menu.
Great place.
The calamari appetizer was excellent! As well as the seafood gyro! Looking forward to returning and trying the beer garden.
There for V-tine's dinner. Waitstaff was great. Ouzo on the rocks was great. Kaseri was a home run, perfect. Homemade pita was very good. Village salad (Greek salad equivalent) was flavorless - tomatoes had no taste and the feta was bland (guessing cow's milk). Had Kale with zucchini chips and tzatziki. Kale was great, Z chips were limp, not crispy enough. Tzatziki was a little bland, needed more garlic. Ordered lamb chops. Two per order. One was thicker than the other. The thin one was overcooked and too heavily salted. The thicker one was the right temperature and tasty but too salty. The baklava was very good. Overall a fun atmosphere with a younger crowd. Price point was good.
The food was not very good. Chicken was greasy and rubbery. The calamari was inedible. Very disappointed compared to the last time we visited when the restaurant first opened.
First time for us. A fresh and exciting offering of Greek fare. Not the same, tired menu choices by any means...absolutely delicious. Can't wait for next meal! And our server, Devin, was great.
Overpriced for food that isn’t necessarily hearty or healthy. Tables are very close to each other making it almost difficult to get out of the seats. Something went wrong with the spinach croquettes so kitchen shut them down. Overall not a great experience for the price paid.
food is pretty dismal. perhaps the focus is more on drinkers.
We loved dining at Opa! The service was kind and the food was delicious. So happy to find this place!
The food was amazing and considering it was restaurant week, the portions were large. Took home so many leftovers that I will be able to enjoy a delicious lunch today! Highly recommend!
Awesome food and service. Food was full of flavor and was a great find. Definitely will Ben back.
The server approached us immediately after we were seated. She was helpful, and very nice. Our selection of wine was great, and the food was quite delicious!
We were two, but the hostess seated us at a table that could seat four. We had plenty of room to spread out with our heavy coats due to the cold weather. She was sweet, and very helpful.
We will surly be back again!
Great Greek food and a great value. Best Greek food in Philadelphia.
Took 30 mins for someone to approach our table, AFTER I went back up to the hostess after 30 mins and said something. Also had to wait 10 minutes at the bar because our reserved table was not ready on time. The food does not taste authentically Greek but more Greek American, not the best quality.
It has become on of our family traditions to go to OPA before my sons head back to college in January. OPA never disappoints with outstanding food and drink! We always all order different things and share in order to get the best of what OPA has to offer!
Excellent food. Love how it comes out as it’s ready, but could have used more space on the table as it all came pretty fast. Still we didn’t feel rushed and the service was great.
Love this place. Has terrific Greek food and the folks in charge are as authentic as it gets. Great for happy hour or dinner with friends/a date.
I love this restaurant and dream about the sagasaki? I think it’s called- they take a skillet of cheese w/ brandy and light it on fire. I love it so much; but this time it didn’t seem to burn all the way through. Despite that really like the food and service! Would definitely recommend to people who like Greek food or have never had it before.
Food is amazing!!! Small plates great for sharing can try some many wonderful tasty items and the drinks were fantastic
Great place!! Good food
Had the lamb which was nice but overcooked. The rice was tasty, as was the village salad. Service was good. The food was good just nothing to write home about, I have had great lamb elsewhere here it was blaa.
Straight-forward , well-executed Greek menu should tempt you to give this place a try. The service was friendly, enthusiastic a d attentive. I'm from out of town a d have eaten here on last two visits.
Great food and service
Service was slow. Food came as it was made. Think drinks more important than food. But loved the ambiance staff friendly but kitchen beyond slow.
We enjoyed the grape leaves and the gyro platter. The pork sandwich was a bit dry for our taste tonight.
Things seem to have gone way down at Opa since our last few visits (we are long time patrons).
The Spanakopita was dry. The Chicken Souvlaki plate (for a truly gluten free member of our party) a mishmash of bland chicken, cucumbers, soggy fries, tzatziki, and (I think) some humus. The smelts were mostly breading, the Keftedes were over cooked and the special Crab cake Gyro Slider an odd over breaded deep fried mixture of crabmeat and filler on mini pita rounds.
But the bottle of Retsina wine (can't screw it up) was the same as always and our server Anne was a delight.
The four of us had a nice dinner at Opa. All of the food was excellent and well-priced. It can be loud around happy hour, but became quieter as the night went on. There were weird lags in the service, however, most likely due to the kitchen. We would get some food, then nothing for 20-30 minutes. It made for a long and protracted meal.
It’s so loud in here. If you are looking for a quiet date night, stay away.
Overall...it was eh. Drinks were messed up (and took forever). But could have been due to a bad night, who knows. Keftedes were outstanding, but everything else I can make better at home.
Great atmosphere. Attentive service and delicious food.
Great food, outstanding service. Our server was attentive and helpful without hovering--just perfect.
Great little restaurant with outstanding Greek food. Will come back for sure!
Celebrating my friend’s birthday !
Fresh fish, mussels and octopus at a really fair price. A little loud until the crowd thinned out.
Pleasant, relaxing atmosphere .
Delicious food and reasonably priced for a restaurant in the city...but a bit too cozy. All staff were efficient and friendly!
Portions are tiny, food is good, the waitresses are very involved in something that interests them and thus too busy to show up much at the table. Restaurants like this were popular in the West Village in NY in the 90's. They were called "Yuppie Restaurants."
Food was wonderfully authentic. The décor is fun and sets the tone for a funny evening. I just wish we were not sitting soooo close the people around us. I found myself shouting over the people around me .. seems to be that way in many places
This was my 2nd visit to Opa and the service was casual, but top notch and efficient. I told the server that we were going to a concert at the Kimmel and she had us in and out in good time. She was friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. The octopus was tender and tasty, the spinach appetizer was real good. Julia said that the 4 - cheese grilled cheese with honey drizzle was excellent and the drinks were good. Opa is a winnner, just a little tight and noisy, but that's Sansom St!!!
Delicious Saganaki and eggplant dip. Good service. Very nice atmosphere.
It is a relief to have OPA reopened after the broken water main forced it to close for repairs. It was like visiting an old friend after a long absence.
