It was a nice place for breakfast. Typical upper end hotel food.
Simply put, the pictures don't tell the story. This is not a restaurant attached to a hotel as it appears, it is a restaurant in the lobby. Also, the dining room was closed before 8:00pm on a Friday night? Also, outdoor seating isn't really a thing...there is a patio down the hall and across from the pool. There is no service outdoors so be prepared to carry your drinks. Drinks were good but overpriced.
Extremely expensive for Mother's Day Brunch but food selection warranted it. Nice experience.
What a nice surprise. This was one of the best buffets ever in KC metropolitan area. The price was steep so come very hungry. This is open only on special occasions and we didn’t know price or what to expect. It was $50 a person but in this case worth it as it was a very special brunch.
Very nice room. They accommodated our group of 12 nicely. Good waiter.
One of the best hidden gem Brunches in KS. Huge ball room, great food, great service for a very reasonable cost. My family loves it.
No wait time, food was excellent, and service was top notch. We would definitely recommend!
We were at the hotel for a conference and they provided really good food, quickly for our conference. The waitress, cook, and manager were all very helpful and friendly. We were able to eat from a good buffet and the menu all with quality cooked food, not "fast" food. Was impressed with the quality and speed of the food and meal. Great, quick place to eat so that you don't have to leave the hotel when you have to be back for afternoon meetings.
I thought the food for restaurant week was less than thrilling. The chicken sandwich was totally without any flavor. The cheesecake was by far the best part of the meal. Nothing about the experience would make me want to come back
Our waiter was wonderful , we were a group of 11 senior citizens and he was gracious to us
We went for Resturant week, and we were all disappointed... we tried all four different entrees, and the best was the burger by far!
I had the blue crab hush puppies as an appetizer and they were overdone and dry. The burger I had was nothing special and the fries were okay.
We took our 17 years old daughter her for restaurant week. My husband and I had eaten here previously and it was phenomenal. We did not feel it quite held up to that expectation, but it was still very good. The service is fantastic, even though the restaurant is in a hotel, it was quiet, well maintained, clean, and nice. We would definitely recommend this hidden gem.
I have visited this restaurant for restaurant week for 3 years lunch & dinner and loved it. I was very disappointed this year. Hush puppies were very dry and the bbq sauce was a weird choice of sauce. I had the short rib pasta and it was not flavorful at all. I have loved this place in the past and just disappointed this year. Service is always great tho. Valet parking was hard to find
Christmas evening dinner.
Steaks were very good & done perfectly.
French fries not very hot, which made them a bit hard.
While we went here for Thanksgiving dinner, I am a vegetarian and was very impressed with my meal. It showed that the chef took some thought and planning into my dish. (I did let them know ahead of time that I had special dietary needs). My husband enjoyed a more traditional Thanksgiving dinner. The ambiance was quiet and comfortable.
Food was bland.and barely warm. Soup was barely room temp as well. Cranberry sauce tasted like salad dressing. Dressing and potatoes Tasted like it hospital food Definitely not fresh. Pumpkin pie tasted worse than store bought. 3 courses of poorly prepared poorly seasoned food for 32 dollars. Disappointing for any hotel restaurant let alone for a special dinner. Will not be back.
Your required to pay for the meal and gratuity in advance. This system allows the servers to coast without much attention to empty water glasses, coffee cups, etc.
We had a table of nine and at one point I had to go seek out someone just so we could get our drinks refilled and the empty plates picked up.
Food was good and the variety was very good but I would not go back because of the service
Mother's Day brunch was great. High quality, large selection, all you can eat buffet. The banquet room setup was unique but effective.
Had the Mother's Day Brunch Buffet. It was a great experience. Couldn't ask for anything more other than don't automatically add an 18% gratuity. At $40 a plate for adults and $18 a plate for children, things get expensive.
Amazing buffet for Mother’s Day.
Our server was excellent. The food was delicious and innovative.
We participated in KC Restaurant Week 2018 and the dinner meal provided was amazing! If this meal was so good, then I can’t wait to try the regular menu.
Excellent dinner experience. Came for restaurant week and was not disappointed.
Great day time service. Gouda burger was very rich, I could only handle half of it. Winter salad with figs and goat cheese was delicious. Their regular Coke tasted like it was Diet Coke. It's set in a beautiful hotel.
Food was great! Friendly and efficient server. Definitely going back!
Went for restaurant week not knowing it was a hotel restaurant. Had a sad salad a freezer burnt burger and service was slow. However the dessert was great.
We went to 1906 OP during KC restaurant week.
Every course was distinctive and well prepared. The wait service was attentive, but not obtrusive. I would go again.
We had a late lunch at the restaurant, so it was literally deserted when we came in, and the hostess STILL took us to a two top table in the middle of the banquet. Utterly no reason on earth to have done that with at least 20 empty 4 tops nearby. The service was slow, the food was mediocre, just a bad hotel restaurant experience. We actually spoke to the manager about a few things, and he apologized, but did nothing to improve the situation. Maybe they'll get better.
Delicious. Loved the ambiance
I feel that this restaurant does not get the credit it deserves because it is located inside the Sheraton.
We have been here 3 times now and have never been disappointed in the food or the service.
And here we were eating out at dinner on New Years Day when most places were closed...hardly a soul in the place so we expected less on the food, but it was still awesome!
We were there last year and had a wonderful time. This year we looked forward to the same experience and it was not. It wasn’t that busy but seemed very unorganized. Our soups were very good. We had asked for champagne and the waiter said it would be $8 a glass only to see it was $13 a glass. His response was yes that is right and left. Our salmon was very dry and like a cracker. I ate mine but the other 2 could not. They had more soup. They did bring us complimentary deserts and took the 2 salmons off the bill. Very disappointed. It was Christmas and we felt we needed to go to Q trip to get something to eat. We would not go back.
The service was excellent! I ordered the hamburger and my husband got the Reuben. Both meals were outstanding. We came to the Sheraton for a meeting and just happened to eat here but we would definitely come back, even without a reason to be in the Sheraton.
Average and too expensive
Overall impression is that this is the type of restaurant that relies on hotel guests to keep afloat. We had a breakfast meeting there and it was all just so-so. I would not want to bring someone here for the food or the service. It is just convenient if they are staying at the hotel.
Service was awesome, food was not. Very disappointed with the quality especially for the price. Will not return.
We made reservations for the Mother's Day Brunch and we were very happy that we did. The event was very beautifully planned. The food was amazing, there was so much to choose from, the dessert options were pretty as well as delicious, and the staff were all very polite and attentive. The ice sculptures were also very beautiful and the single rose gifted upon leaving was a very nice touch. Thank you for making Mother's Day so special, we will definitely be returning next year!
We booked this reservation for Easter Brunch based on the menu, price provided on OpenTable of $29 per person, and the description that it was hosted in the 1906 Restaurant. When we arrived for our reservation we were informed the price was $42 per person. And then we were charged a mandatory 18% gratuity FOR A BUFFET!!! The food was decent, the ambiance was terrible as it was held in a convention ballroom. Our party of 4 was seated at a huge round table with seating for 8 and was located next to the service hallway where there was constant traffic through the doors. Our reservation was at 12:30pm by 2pm the staff was starting to take things (table tents/signs/ salt and pepper, the lilies) off tables and stack them on a table next to ours when they were supposedly still seating people until 2:30pm. Very unprofessional... Not a good experience.
We did the same for Mothers day last year and enjoyed it again. Space, good food and good choices fir all ages.
Service was great at the beginning but then towards the end it took 20 minutes to get the check and another 20 for the waiter to come back and get it. Food was great and the decor is very nice.
