The food was awful !!!!!!! Told the waiter the yellowtail had gone bad and did not take it off the check.
The service was fantastic and the food was excellent ! I was nervous about going to a hotel for sushi but this place exceeeded our expectations. We will definitely be back.
We had recently been to Lure Fish House and spotted Onyx at the Four Seasons on our way home. We decided to book a date night at 7:15 pm for dinner for two. As a party of two, we often get offered a tiny table near the door or kitchen. Therefore, I had put in the reservation note to sit us in a booth or somewhere we can sit next to each other away from the door. Low and behold, when we arrived, the hostess attempts to sit us at a tiny table near the exit door. Eventually, we agreed to sit at the sushi bar which worked out perfectly for us. We were able to sit next to each other and order directly for the chef. We ordered Toro, Salmon Belly, Yellowtail Belly, and overall, the sushi and sashimi was good quality. We ordered the Rib Eye as well, didn't expect it to be a thin cut but was very tasty. We finished off the meal with the chocolate desert which was delicious.
Excellent dining experience - great food, good service, and very charming, congenial, attentive front-of-house care.
Love the food, but service is a little slow. I think the issue is not enough staff- the staff that is there is good.
My girlfriends were in from Chicago and we had a dinner there to celebrate our reunion and a birthday. I asked for a nice table in advance and mentioned that it was a special occasion.
As requested we got a lovely table and fantastic service. The food, as always was amazing. They also helped us celebrate our friends birthday.
I wish I had asked the name of our Maitre d. She took incredible care of us. She checked on us several times to make sure my guests were happy. She always takes great care of me and my guests.
We have enjoyed onyx before. The travelzoo coupon makes this special meal affordable. Great food, service, and craft cocktails.
The deal is not as good as it had been. They no longer offer bar drinks included in the Travelzoo Voucher. The service was not up to the level of previous visits. They forgot to deliver a side order. By that time, we no longer wanted it, but they gave it to us comped. Turns out I didn't like it that much.
Went for birthday celebration. Great food and ambiance and service.
Great food. Wonderful service
Food was ok however no value for the price
The chairs were filthy black food grease or black body oils on the fabric yuk
The floors are wood and need restoration scratched dirty and more
This should not be the level of restaurant to be associated to the four seasons name
Fantastic food, service and cocktails. Clean and neat throughout. All the employees were a joy to talk with, with great personalities. All come by from the manager down to make sure you are happy. The food has incredible taste and is presented very well. The atmosphere and decor is very warm and classy.
Waiter was exceptional, food was great. Always love our visits to Onyx!
I took my two teenage sons here for a birthday celebration. Cory gave us excellent service which was very appreciated. At one point a manager showed up to make sure that everything was going well. This is a huge improvement from the last time we dined at the Four Seasons. Last time felt more like a coffee shop then fine dining but they obviously have stepped up their game!
Food was very fresh and tasted great. Pricing was higher than expected. Sushi is pretty costly in general so I did expect a hefty tab. We got two appetizers, three specialty sushi rolls, one California hand roll, one tuna hand roll, one egg handroll and a side of garlic noodles. Total was about $200 Plus tip. They were kind enough to bring a special dessert for my son’s birthday. We did not have any drinks, alcohol or other desserts.
Although pricier than anticipated it was a really fun evening and I’m glad we chose Onyx for our celebration.
Was a great evening
Really slow service. The slowest we’ve had in a long time. Not what we expected from a restaurant at the Four Seasons
Thank you Amber And Amanda!
The food was good but the people were GREAT!
The service was excellent! We tried serval dishes and all were very good!
the food was incredible. our group consisted of all big sushi eaters and there was consensus that this is some of the tastiest sushi we had ever eaten. the rolls are incredible (white and red dragon) and the ahi poke on toasted rice was amazing!
Great service, top notch food, very creative menue and great fish tank🙀
Another fantastic dinner with family. Service and wine as well as the sushi were great!
Good but there is better sushi and ambience for cheaper options. Service was good, not memorable.
I was seated at the sushi bar and enjoyed one of the best meal ever. The chef was very skilled and entertaining, the fish was delicious and fresh, the staff was very attentive and pleasant. The venue is easy to locate and parking is convenient and free. The hotel and restaurant decor needs a refresh, but it did not bother me.
Great Quality dishes, Creative rolls and just a great dining experience
Our server was very patient in explaining the Travel zoo deal, what it included. He offered great suggestions on drinks etc.
Onyx is always amazing! We try to have dinner there at least once a month. The food and service are wonderful. We look forward to our next visit.
We have always enjoyed our dining at Onyx. Our waiter was wonderful! He recommended a fabulous red wine. The smaller portions leave us satisfied without feeling stuffed! Can’t wait to go back!
We have been to Onyx many times. On this occasion we had invited our friends over to have a nice dinner. Service was unusually poor. They forgot to bring our appetizers, main dishes were all mixed up. Kids had to wait much longer than they had to despite us asking their food first. Very disorganized last night l. I hope it is a one off as we love the place and the food otherwise.
This was our second time to Onyx and the second visit was just as perfect. Amber and Emma greeted us when we arrived and welcomed us back along with our guests (my family) - a very nice surprise to be remembered.
Once seated, Jesus welcomed us back and took our drink order, checking in with us on how the drinks and appetizers were once they arrived. Throughout the meal his service was friendly and personable which made for an enjoyable environment, even using our names.
The food was exquisite - especially the Volcano Roll, Black Cod and delicious sides - the presentation was beautiful. They even warned us of mushrooms in the noodle dish as they set it down, knowing my husband wasn't a mushroom eater. They remembered that fact from our previous visit! We will definitely return to Onyx for another incredible meal. Thank you to all the staff who made our dinner so wonderful and memorable.
As expected, very nice. Been there before, will return.
This was the best Japanese gourmet cuisine I've ever had.
The room was beautiful, and service superb.
Aimee was our server and she waz professional, she knew the menu and recommended the itemz we ate for dinner. She also azzisted my wife in selecting a cold SAKI, which my wife said tasted great.
All items tasted great. We will be back.
We ordered the popcorn shrimp (good), the hamachi carpaccio (not so good, I actually left some on the plate and hamachi is my fave), miso soup (yummy), and the miso butterfish (good but I have had better). I also ordered Maguro sushi, California roll, and white dragon roll to go for my Mom, and she said it was good but nothing stellar. The dinner cost $200 with no alcohol. The service was great. The ambiance is pretty nice. We sat outside. The a/c was a little strong for us inside. The people who worked there were lovely, but the quality of fish was not that great, especially for the hamachi. I am not in a hurry to return and still on a search for sushi as good as what I ate in Maui.
I live in the neighbourhood and when I want to feel special I go here. The people that work in Onyx are super friendly and nice and always make me feel good.
outstanding service and food. the staff were really friendly and made us feel special. highly recommend if you're looking for great Japanese cuisine.
Been before, will return. Our waitress Amanda is a gem!
Way way overpriced..extremely small portions too.
High quality and inventive Japanese options. Especially enjoyed the sushi.
The outstanding service and friendly staff are what stood out most to me at Onyx. Also, we loved the seating outside with a lovely view of the waterfall. The food was excellent and timely served. I did not find the inside to be as warm and romantic but great for a family gathering or large group. So in summary, if it's a romantic night out then ask for a table outdoors. I would be a regular here if I lived closer. Most romantic setting I have seen so far in the area.
Pretty good overall, a couple disappointing moments however. Despite asking for a table without a draft, our hostess did just that. When i asked our server if we could be reseated, she pointed to the hostess and said we could ask her, then walked away. Waiter was attentive, though the busboys collar was crooked all night, and he had to be asked to clean out plates. Finally the tempura was undercooked and oily which had to be sent back. The rolls and sake was nice, and the decorations were beautiful. Maybe not wooden chopsticks next time, HOWEVER.
