The food is just amazing. We enjoy taking out of town guests to Onesto. They are always impressed.
Loud and a little expensive. Service was slow, which was unusual.
Hello Tyler, sorry the service was slow. You are right it's not our standard here at Onesto. I hope you come see us again soon so we can provide you with the service you deserve. I hope you have a great day.
Jake was our server. He was extremely knowledgeable about the wine and food, and provided wonderful service. The food was delicious, pasta prepared perfectly. The food arrived hot and in a timely manner.
I'm glad that you enjoyed the night with Jake. He really knows how to guide people thru the menu and ensure that people have a great experience. Thanks for coming in and I hope you have a great day.
My wife and finished dinner at 9:45 pm and wanted to sit at the bar and have another wine. Bartender told us "We close in 10 minutes". They still had a group of 8 and 4 still sitting in the bar area. I was kind of shocked at his response. We left and will not return or recommend. It was our first time there and we were having a good night. For the record, our server was awesome. I ordered my steak medium well, it came medium rare. My wife enjoyed her salmon and we both enjoyed our warm mushroom salad.
The food was excellent
Our waiter was super at recommending great wine to try.
Definately worth the time and experience
Thanks Bill!!! We really appreciate the great feedback. I hope you have a great day.
Reliable foodie food and reliable service. Every time I come to Milwaukee I try to eat here.
Hello Janis and thank you for the great review. I'm glad that we can be a go to for food and service when you come into town. We look forward to seeing you again soon then. Have a great day.
It was our first visit and everything was wonderful.... Service, food, drinks and ambiance. We had a perfect high table by the window, so we could enjoy the beautiful weather and passers by. We look forward to returning!
Onesto is consistently a quality experience. People should know they don’t have brunch any longer, no issue just hadn’t realized they changed. We go to Onesto often and like it very much
Dined here on a Saturday night. Thank goodness we had made a reservation - it was jammed ! Which is a good thing because it signifies that people love the place. Housemade pasta dishes are the way to go. Also really liked their appetizer jars. Server (Daniel) was both attentive and patient. Michael, I believe the main bartender, has great knowledge of the Italian wines available which is what we drank. We will definitely be going back - and sooner than later.
Fetuchinni special with shrimp was outstanding! Carafe of wine for happy hour served 4 generously. Bread and fig “jar” was. bery tasty. Perfect for before show dining at the Skylight.
We had another wonderful experience. Our server was top drawer. Attentive, informative and grascious. This has been our consistent experience with Onestos.
Excellent waiter who guided us through the menu. Enjoyed the wine pairing and special of the day. Recommend the mussels and lemon ricotta cake. Delightful.
great food. top notch service and excellent bar tender.
Very relaxing atmosphere, wonderful service, excellent wine list and delicious food. Will definitely be returning.
The menu is very interesting and absolutely delicious!
Valentine's Saturday and they had their regular, full menu. Not a shortened version. Kuddos! Service was timely without being rushed. Food was very good. A little nosy, as we sat on the bar side of the restaurant, but not so loud that we couldn't have a nice conversation. We were very pleased. We'll head back on another night.
Onesto was great! Our server Daniel S. Made sure we were always taken care of and you wouldn’t have realized it was Valentine’s Day. The food was phenomenal and the ambiance was even better!
We got a reservation in the last time slot available on Valentines Day... the staff seemed done for the night and the food tasted like it was what was left at the end of the night. Disappointing.
I ordered the spaghetti and meatballs and my boyfriend ordered the Bolognese at our 9pm dinner reservation. They definitely overbooked people for Valentines, and had 3 couples and a group waiting at the door because the bar was full. However, we only had to wait 10 minutes before getting our reserved seats. The waitress was amazing and very attentive and fast. We ordered the mussels appetizer and it was cooked to perfection! The cream sauce was so we good kept dipping our warm bread into the sauce long after the mussels were gone. The wine selection was also very good.
The spaghetti and meatballs were very good but very shocked to see only medium sized 3 meatballs for a nearly $20 plate. The pasta and sauce were incredible and the meatballs were alright if not a little lacking in flavor. But very skimpy in sauce..and portion. The Bolognese was a miss for me and my boyfriend. The sauce lacked all flavor..the brisket was yummy but it did not integrate with the sauce and it felt very discombobulated. Not a food expert but we eat a lot of food..and for us both to think the sauce was extremely bland (in a Bolognese no less) was a bummer. We questioned that maybe they ran out of sauce since it was so late at night on a very busy day, and close to closing time. I am hoping to come back on a regular day and try out a different pasta entree to really get a better picture of their menu.
Very disappointed. The food lacked seasoning and was average. The fusilli lacked mushrooms & there was no hint of truffle oil. The salad was barely dressed and other tables also had to ask for more Caesar salad dressing. Some tables were offered fresh Parmesan for their entree-we were not offered this option. We ordered another glass of wine when our entrees were delivered. It arrived as we were finishing our meal. The ambiance is good but could use some artwork upstairs on the walls. Overall, our experience was very disappointing based on the high rating by other diners. We won’t be back.
Love Onesto ))
Everything was delicious and everyone was super friendly.
Onesto is one of my favorite restaurants in Milwaukee and always will be. I adore the seasonal menu with fresh and seasonal ingredients and have had some of my favorite dinners ever here. The service and drinks are always exceptional. The food is fantastic, the simple but flavorful combinations on the menu are superb, but on our most recent visit the ricotta tortellini was a bit dry. I’m not sure if it was because we were a later table or it had sat under a heat lamp, but it tasted a bit dry. This was the first and only time this had happened and we have visited many times. Regardless, we will be back. The menu and flavors are fantastic and I would recommend this restaurant to anyone in Milwaukee.
The last time my wife went to Onesto we were very disappointed but we thought we'd give it another try and they did not disappoint - our server, Ryan, was great and handled our requests with a great deal of patience.
Onesto is always our "go-to" spot for a night out to reconnect with friends over good food! Once again, we were not disappointed! Scratch pasta. What else is there to say?
Table location was great and they did not rush us out after our meal.
Got together with friends for dinner and everyone was accommodated - we had lots of questions and the staff was happy to answer and make recommendations.
We took some friends that had never been there before. They enjoyed the atmosphere quite a bit. The chicken on my friend's pasta was dry, but the waitress took it off the bill. She was attentive and polite and overall the food was very good. This is one of my favorite places and I'll return!
We were showed to the worst table in the restaurant with plenty nice tables available. Had to ask for a change. Drinks were small.
Had dinner with a friend for a birthday celebration. I have to eat Gluten Free- so I ordered the Acorn Squash Risotto with Chicken. I expected risotto made out of acorn squash, or risotto with acorn squash shreds incorporated in. I got a large portion of risotto which was rather sticky, with three slabs of grilled squash on the side. It was ok- but not seasoned really well, nor was it very flavorful. It was much improved after I put some of Onesto’s olive oil blend, salt and pepper on the top. The food was lukewarm- but edible. The problem comes in with cost- for dinner for two, with a shared appetizer, no dessert or alcohol- we paid about $90 with tip. For that amount, I don’t expect to have to season and flavor my own dish. It was ok- and I’m sure the homemade pasta is delicious, but for what I had, it was just not remarkable. Our server was amazing- made great recommendations, and was very attentive. The location is fun, and the high top tables look out on the bustle of the 3rd Ward. Overall good, but not great.
Amazing food that caters to quality over quantity.
First time visitor, we had a great waitress and food was delicious. We loved the olive jar app. I had the fusilli with chicken. It was delicious and a large serving (could only finish a third). My husband had the ravioli and he liked his as well but not as much as my fusilli. He felt that it was a little dry and a small portion. I would go again.
