The place has a nice vibe. It is comfortable and in a great location on the main square in town. I did not think the food was GREAT but it was good. What was puzzling to me is that the entrees did not come with anything at all. So, after my steak was served, I looked at the little piece of meat sitting lonely on the plate and asked the waiter to bring me a salad. The salad was very good. I wish I knew that everything was ala carte before ordering. The table next to us had pasta which looked to be a nice portion and presentation. Wine was served in an odd snifter instead of a real wine glass which seemed strange. The bar was lively and attractive.
My husband and I went there for a date night. I ordered the penne pasta chicken cordon bleu. I was a little disappointed with the lack of creativity. Even though it was only $12 I felt like that was easily something that I could have cooked at home myself. It wasn't even garnished with anything. The service was good though. And the atmosphere was nice.
Girls weekend- brunch. Service was incredibly slow. We were one of two tables in the restaurant. Our server got every order confused. We had to ask 3-4 times to get butter and jelly for toast. Had to ask multiple times to get a coffee refill. The food was fine. Atmosphere lovely. Service was sub par
We made our reservation online the night before and received our confirmation/reservation number. We arrived on our scheduled date and time and we were told our reservation was not on their system. But the hosted agreed we had a reservation based on my confirmation and continued to tell me they had no tables available. Offered to seat us at the bar, but we reserved a table so we could talk and have breakfast with our daughter who is a student at Gettysburg College. We had to speak to the manager to be seated at a table. Breakfast was ok, not really worth the hassle. But if you do make an online reservation, I highly recommend that you also call them to confirm that it is there.
Went here before attending a tour of a nearby neighborhood. Two of us ordered flatbreads, one ordered the chef salad, one ordered the chicken saltimbocca. The portions were generous. Usually, that means the quality isn't great, but that wasn't the case at all. Everyone offered each other tastes of their food, but each was so into their own dish they didn't want distraction. The twist on chicken saltimbocca being served in onion soup instead of traditional white wine sauce was inventive and delectable. Our server was knowledgeable, fun, and funny. Definitely would recommend and intend to go again.
The restaurant was very nice inside, but we were very disappointed with our meal. My husband ordered a New York strip steak and no questions were asked by the server. When they brought his “meal” out it was literally just a steak, no sides, salad or anything. Apparently the sides are all extra. The steak was $25. While it tastes good, we were very disappointed just to get a piece of meat for that price, and that they did not inform us that sides were extra while ordering. This restaurant has a lot of potential but needs to improve their menu and service.
An excellent restaurant in the center of Gettysburg, located in the Gettysburg Hotel. We were there two consecutive nights. On Saturday night the service was just a little slow, but on Sunday it was excellent. The food was unexpectedly find. The chef's salad is among the best I ever had, and the New England clam chowder was just the right consistency of creamy, with plenty of clams in it. On Sunday night I had the club sandwich, which was a traditional club and again, very tasty. I had the Maryland crab soup, which was equally good. I really liked this place.
My wife, grandson and I were in Gettysburg sightseeing and we wanted a casual place to eat and relax downtown. One Lincoln turned out to be both. Fortunately we had a reservation and were seated immediately. The food was nicely presented and delicious. The wait staff were attentive without hovering. Overall we had a nice dining experience at a reasonable price.
The hostess didn't greet us with a smile. She didn't offer my 8 year old a child's menu. There was confusion from the waitstaff as to who was to take care of us. No one came to our table for 15 minutes to greet us or take our drink orders. Once the server did come, she was nice and did a great job. My assessment is the hostess did a poor job of helping the waitstaff know which tables were theirs. The food was good, however my shrimp and pasta entree only had 4 shrimp in the very large pasta dish. So, I was very disappointed to pay so much money for only 4 shrimp. The handcrafted cocktails were AMAZING!! Kudos to the bartender!!
The food was good but the service was sub par. My friend ordered a side salad that was supposed to come out before her steak entree. Instead a huge dinner salad came out as the same time as entree along with bread for the table. I order side of risotto but never got it, I finally just asked for it to be taken off the bill. I had also ordered a glass of wine to go with my entree but I was nearly done eating when I got that. I'm guessing there was a lot of confusion in the kitchen. The waitress tried hard but it just ended up being a mess.
I've eaten here many times over the years before the re-do and name change and several times since. Always liked it that's why we keep going back. No more. Bad service today. No bread served when we asked for it we were told, "I guess I could find you some" really find it? Are you doing me a favor. It comes with the meal !! No salads , I know last time I ate here a salad came with dinner. My husband had pasta , nice portion, good price. . I had the seafood cake, large over some type of sauce. No veg ,no potato, rice nothing. $24.00 really? No way never again.
Not the biggest menu, but nice range of delicious offerings. We both ordered salads, then pasta, and we were genuinely amazed at the generous portion for only a $12 entree. Both dinners were excellent. So was the tiramisu for dessert - yum! Only quibbles: The Gorgonzola Salad default dressing was never explained to us. When we asked the server, he identified it as Poppy Seed dressing, but it had so much caraway seed that was all we could taste. Odd choice. I think a fruity basalmic would have paired better (or the waiter could have ASKED me to choose a dressing, that would have been nice). Also, at the end of the meal we had a hard time flagging down server for our check. Some of his tables were on the outside patio, which was a straight line from the kitchen and never brought him past us again after dessert.
One Lincoln was disappointing -- mediocre hotel fare. One problem is that the food comes from a catering kitchen in another part of the hotel so it gets a bit steamed under the hot covers on its way to the restaurant (e.g., soggy French fries). Better to go to The Pub or Blue & Gray on the Square.
