Thanks so much for taking care of my parents on their trip to NYC. It was truly a special night and they were in awe of how well they were taken care of. It actually made my heart so full and happy!

High expectations were met with a spectacular setting and a warm greeting. Unfortunately, complacency led to not reading my advance email with specific requirements for diet and seating. Had to complain to get moved which took some time. Ruined the experience. Food average. Disappointed.

My companion and I especially loved the ambiance of the restaurant. It was difficult to find but completely worth the experience. I enjoyed the pan-seared scallops and my partner thoroughly enjoyed his steak. I ordered the beef Wellington, although it was great it didn’t agree with my stomach and I couldn’t finish. My server Marco was exceptionally understanding and apologized profusely. He offered to have something else made for me and adjusted our bill as necessary. The manager came and apologized as well. The service was impeccable. On top of that, we given a special treat wishing us a happy anniversary. I was blown away. Will definitely return in the future.

My wife and I celebrated our ten year anniversary here on a friend's recommendation and it was everything I expected and more! The dishes on the 7 Course Chef's Tasting were small, but simply delicious. The service was outstanding. Ideal for romantic dinners!

Beautiful, romantic restaurant. Food was good, but the beef wellington left a little to be desired. Loved the appetizers and dessert.

I went to this place with high expectations!
We chose the “prix fix menu” . The apptz were pretty good! We had the foie gras and the burrata. I was not impressed with the beef Wellington (had a unappealing red sauce on the side) or with the dessert. The desserts all looked the same (little chocolate cakes with some drizzled sauce and a spoon of sorbet). Lame!
Service and ambiance were great!

I've wanted to have dinner at One If By Land for many, many years. I've heard and read about how wonderful the ambiance was and how delicious the food was and I was not disappointed!! The service was impeccable as well. Definitely a place that I will return to for dinner and/or just drinks at the bar. I will be going back very soon for a tour--imagine, a carriage house once owned by Aaron Burr!

It was a master class in romantic settings. The service was amazing and the food which almost seems like an added bonus for being in such a magical place was amazing. It is beautiful to look at and delicious to eat. It is time tested recipes with a modern presentation a real attention to craft without being stuck in trends or "coolness" just true skill and an artist take on culinary knowledge. It is not for everyone, it is expensive, but completely worth it for those who want to share a wonderful experience with someone they love.

food was fantastic, beef Wellington was cooked to perfection, same with our dessert, Chocolate Souffle. Would have preferred seating in the main dining area. We were seated in a quaint room on second level.

The place is dark and has an old-fashioned, romantic, very elegant ambiance. The beef wellington is a must. The meat is delicious and the dish is very well prepared. The service is outstanding, very attentive. It is definitely worth the cost.

Amazing place with stunning service and exceptional food. Everything was absolutely marvels. I celebratede my 35th birthday and got engaged! I couldn’t choose a better place for this evening! The owner was incredible, took care of us and participated in this special event by the most little things, to make it unforgettable!

My husband and I had our wedding dinner here in 2015, then our first anniversary dinner and now our second anniversary dinner. As always, this restaurant is romantic and makes us feel very special. The food is consistently amazing, and we look forward to our third anniversary to eat here again.

My husband and I went for an anniversary dinner. Cocktails were great. Service was excellent. Only drawback was there was no flexibility with the menu - prix fixe for $100/pp or degustation for $175/pp. No other options. Since we don't eat dessert, we would have preferred another option.

Absolutely phenomenal. Every detail from the romantic, historic interior, the welcoming classical piano, and flawlessly timed service, to the rich tasting courses and perfect wine pairings - it all blew me away. We’ve been making our way through many Michelin restaurants, and for not having any recognition from the institution, I’m shocked.

Started with the foie gras and scallops. Both among the best I’ve had. Scallops served with bacon and corn in a creamy mushroom reduction the surprisingly married the dish flavors perfectly. Had to get the beef Wellington per many reviews and was not disappointed. High-quality filet mignon, covered in mushrooms and secured in a pastry/biscuit blanket, then drizzled with a stone fruit reduction. It checked all the boxes, and blew past my expectations. Paired with the Cabernet Sauvignon, I was in heaven.

While I didn’t think I would have room for dessert, I’m so pleased we ordered it. I got the Beatrice; listed last on the dessert menu, but by far one of the most impressive I’ve had in the past two months. Chocolate ganache with a layer of raspberry preserves, coated in raspberry sauce, accompanied by house-made raspberry sorbet. Not as overwhelming as you may think. It was perfectly balanced, satisfying my sweet tooth, while offering a treat that was warm, cold, dense, rich, fluffy, whipped, fruity, and smooth. The pistachio crunch on top added a texture I didn’t think I’d want, but now desperately desire.

The restaurant does not offer a la carte menus. The prix fixe prices are high.

The wait staff screwed up our order. Another couple who came in after we did ordered the same app as we did and got served first. Ours came out 15 minutes later. I told our wait person that I was upset. The GM and server made up for it by giving us an extra appetizer and dessert on the house.

We came for our anniversary dinner. For being billed as a romantic restaurant, the food and ambience were on par. Our Hostess (older woman) was casual, harsh and detracted from the mood. Our meal was good but incorrect (wrong order at first) and then was blamed on the kitchen. Minimally a glass of wine comp would have made sense. It was simply uncomfortable.

I loved the space and the food. The rest needs to match in order to regain the clout I’m guessing this establishment could have. Service needs some love...

This Village restaurant with the curious name welcomes you with a long bar with mural of the named event, fireplace crackling, and pianist playing. The dining rooms beyond are lovely looking out into an interior garden. The menu is Price Fixe three course, with choices for all tastes. Service prompt, efficient, and professional. Ambience quiet! Food well prepared and presented. A true neighborhood gem.

We have been to One if by Land Two if by Sea many times over the years for special occasions and have been thrilled every time. This time it was for our anniversary. Unfortunately we were dissappointed this visit. The service was mediocre; not the outstanding service we have come to expect. We felt that when we ordered beer instead of cocktails or wine we were looked down upon. Or maybe it was because we were two women. But we both felt it. Then when the beef Wellington was not cooked to the medium rare request the server dismissed the complaint and we were told we were not cutting it correctly. As for my entree it was listed a veal chop "osso bucco". It in no way resembled osso bucco. And overall our meals were not up to the wanting to lick your plate standard we have come to expect Not sure we will be going back for our next special occasion

Disappointing. The appetizers came out about 3 minutes after we ordered. The crab pasta was very good. But the scallops were barely warm and the risotto less so. Disappointed with the halibut. Little dry, also should have been hotter. Beef was pretty good- too big a portion. But better than the fish. We had A very nice french dinner the night before so maybe the bar was too high going in. The deserts were a highlight.

Do not waste your money. This is a complete rip off "engagement restaurant" for couples from New Jersey and Ohio. The setting is lovely, but the food is awful and completely overpriced. You can find so much better in the west village.
