Our server, Orchid was great! Very friendly, the ambiance of the restauarant was very romantic, beautifully decorated. Great for a special occassion!
Excellent food, wonderful atmosphere, impeccable service. They just do everything right at this legendary restaurant. We've been there many times over the years and have never been disappointed in any way. From the fresh flowers and candlelit tables to the live piano music and fireplaces, you just simply cannot find a more romantic restaurant in NYC. An outstanding experience every single time.
Celebrated a special occasion and this place did not disappoint. Excellent food and service made for a truly memorable dinner. Will mostly certainly return.
Our 10th anniversary and first time out to dinner since the March shut down - One If By Land did not disappoint. Amazing food. A romantic and cozy atmosphere. A long meal to sit and enjoy! Worth every penny!
Very small portions and very expensive! The food and service was good but highly overpriced.
ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! YOU MUST GET THE BEEF WELLINGTON!!
We ordered the 7 course tasting menu. Food was great and we loved their beef Wellington. It did help that we were able to get a table by the window. Overall it’s a good dining experience.
My wife’s 60’s birthday.
So good, its the go to place for anyone wanted to have a good night
Service and good was outstanding. We did the 7 course tasting menu. Everything was cooked perfectly. The wine pairing really enhanced the menu as well!
5 yr anniversary dinner in the city
My boyfriend was visiting NYC for the first time, and he’s a foodies so I wanted not only a nice dinner but an experience. This place was amazing! We did the tasting menu, WELL WORTH IT. Great service, amazing food, and terrific atmosphere. Definitely recommend as a romantic dinner date or a celebratory event. Loved!
Its the Perfect Romantic Spot in NYC... If you are looking to propose in a restaurant surrounding this would be the spot, make sure you get a table at the back so you can propose, the ambiance is magnificent, the food the service is A++.
A very beautiful and elegant restaurant with excellent food and impeccable service. Nothing could have made our evening better. It was perfect!
Excellent experience for our anniversary. Food was all amazing and a great value for the quality. Will definitely be returning.
Great for any special occasion- a true experience. 5 stars from start to finish. The dessert selection is incredible. The live piano adds a special touch . Highly recommend requesting a window table by the gardens
Think it had like the most engagements happen here than anywhere in the city
Great dinner! Everything that came out of the kitchen (oysters, salad, branzino, dessert, was excellent. As is the service and the room is stunning!
I celebrated my fiance's birthday here, and it could not have been more perfect! The food was spectacular, and the service was much better than I was expecting. Everyone was so accommodating and lovely, this is such a special place.
My beef wellington was terrific but it came with 5 stringbeans. My wife and daughter each ordered the ribeye and that was a total disappointment. The steak was grizzly and under-seasoned. My wife explained that to the waiter who gave us a wellington to go. the desserts were amazing.
the restaurant was extremely dark making reading the menu very difficult.
We always loved going there but at $109 a person, they need to step up their game.
The restaurant lives up to its reputation. Very rare to find casual elegance. This is it. And the meal is American and impeccable.
Exceptional food and service. A special place in the west village.
The atmosphere was breathtaking. The service was top notch and everyone was very accommodating. It was a lovely experience end to end, just a little pricey.
I took a friend for his birthday and it was simply EXQUISITE! We enjoyed a drink at the bar and then took our table for a fabulous meal. I had a delicious halibut steamed in coconut milk, and my friend had the individual Beef Wellington. Definitely a place for a special occasion or date. This was not our first time; a couple of years ago we went at Christmas and it was beautifully decorated for the holiday. Will go back for sure!
Romantic restaurant with great service and great food. Limited menu but enough choice for everyone. The signature Beef Wellington was delicious as were the desserts.
Very good dinner
Overall a very nice experience. In the future I would stick with going there for dessert versus proper dinner/dining. Our entrees were on the bland side (French food?) but the desserts were outstanding. Service and ambiance were good.
The food seemed prepared ahead of time. Nice place but not worth the expense.
We ordered appetizers and the server went to the kitchen and brought the dishes right away. Do they had them ready already? Or you guys microwave it? No way you can make a hot elaborated dish in less than 3 min (grilled octopus and duck papardelle)
The mains were ok but the same system. Server brought the dishes 4 min after they took our appetizer plates out of the table.
Servers were very attentive but for the price we paid the quality of the food was poor.
Very nice environment.
Wonderful experience which made this anniversary even better. Highly recommend this romantic restaurant.
Beautiful decor, very romantic, try the duck or Beef Wellington.
We came for my wife’s birthday and everything was great; the food, the ambiance, service.. everything was fantastic!
We had the chef's tasting menu paired with wine and it was amazing! Quiet inside since we are still dealing with COVID which was perfect. Excellent way to spend our 20th anniversary!
It was a phenomenal experience, and I really appreciate the special dessert for my girlfriend’s birthday. Our waiter was so nice
Very enjoyable. This restaurant is located in an old carriage house with lots of history, including a connection to Aaron Burr.
The prix fixed menu has many choices in both the appetizer and main course sections. My guests & I ordered different dishes for each course and shared them.
Foie gras appetizer was expertly cooked: moist and delicious. The octopus app. was also very tasty and grilled
Correctly. Not chewy at all . For a main, I had the beef Wellington, which was served medium rare as ordered. Tender, juicy beef was excellent. I just wish that either a bearnaise or Demi glacé sauce was included. The branzino and gnocchi were also outstanding. For dessert we sampled the chocolate souffle, the pastachio dessert and
The creme brûlée, all delicious. The service was spot on. They also have a very impressive wine list with a large selection toon of wines by the glass. I’ll be back the next time I’m in nyc.
I highly recommend this restaurant. It is truly an amazing experience to have with family or a loved one.
Birthday and Mother’s Day
Excellent for Mother’s Day! Amazing food and hospitality!
I really liked this restaurant. I came there for my birthday celebration. When I arrived I could tell it was romantic. There was piano music playing the whole time.
I was placed next to a couple of other people. When I sat down, I immediately got asked what type of water I wanted and got served my choice. I had to wait a while before the waiter came back to serve us, because there was one waiter for five tables. When the food did arrive, it was really good. The food was in small portions, but eating the appetizer, entree and desert was filling.
I also had a glass of Chardonnay which was really good. They ended up giving me an extra desert with Happy Birthday written in chocolate which I thought was really nice. Overall, I would recommend this restaurant.
