I just wanted to say that our waiter (and I’m sorry that I can’t recall his name) was awesome and we really enjoyed the experience. This is my favorite restaurant in the city and I’m always happy to be able to go. Thank you for making my anniversary so special.
Came here for an anniversary dinner. The place was super romantic - walking in, the space is dimly lit with fresh candles set next to a rose in full bloom. There was a live pianist playing which added to the overall environment. The food was super good and fresh.
I found ir a little Bit expensive and thé menu was not astonishing. Kind of dessapointed
Phenomenal tasting menu and wine pairings. Service was top notch and ambiance was truly special. Perfect for a special occasion.
Its a romantic restaurant. You go there for the ambiance and not the food.
Wonderful dinner for our anniversary l. Service and ambiance are perfect. The food was excellent. We opted for the tasting menu and every course was a bit hit. The beef Wellington from and the chocolate soufflé were truly standouts.
This may have been the best meal I’ve eaten in the last decade. Each dish was prepared to perfection. Each drink was mixed as expected. The wait staff were responsive & prompt but never interfering w our conversation.
We noticed the lack of directional & designation signage or way-finding.
After the meal, I said I can see why! One if by Land is so GOOD … people will find it void of advertising or signage.
I had a delicious birthday dinner here! Our waitress was very attentive and they made me a special drink upon request. Food was delicious
Upon arriving we were seated in the very first row of tables, which out of all the other options that there were, paled in comparison. An elderly couple came in after us and got window seats, which kind of took me by surprise because from my side of the room there were many empty tables. After seeing that I requested an immediate change of our table. It made me feel as if we weren’t expected to have as much of an amazing experience as our dining peers.
Me and my wife just returned from South Korea after being stationed there for 2 years, this was a very important night for us. I did not want anything to ruin the magical moment I envisioned. The dinner went along great with my wife, the only other issue I dealt with was when we were ordering the waiter suggested side dishes as if it was included with the entrees. Upon my review of the bill I realized they had charged me $15.00 for each one. We barely ate it, nor did we want it.
To my surprise the waiter took it away and did away with practically full plates of sides. Yet for the table behind me he asked if they’d like to take their food to go, an option that he had not given us. I believe some of the staff members in this establishment to be guilty of discrimination.
Amazing food and service! Highly recommend
Great service - the food was delicious - and the pianist playing have a nice ambiance!
Food and service were superb, the piano was beautiful, but the AC was too strong, so it was cold.
The ambiance is good (live piano music on Saturday night, real candles etc). The service was impeccable. The food was tasty but too expensive for what you really get (at this price you could afford to serve a whole branzino instead of a piece of fileted fish; and why on earth would a rack of lamb have the bones removed). What I really didn’t like was the mark up on wine: they have a large wine list but literally only 2 bottles just under $100: that just seems a bit greedy.
Our second time at this restaurant and it didn’t disappoint. It is a very romantic place, the food is outstanding and the wine pairings were excellent. The service is also excellent and the piano player adds to the ambience. It is an expensive meal but it’s not somewhere we have the opportunity to go to regularly as we don’t live in New York.
Well worth it! The food is amazing, great service and an overall perfect experience for our anniversary!
We love OIBL,! Went to celebrate our anniversary there last night---as my husband proposed to me there 37 years ago!!
As it turned out, we were in a part of the room with several others celebrating anniversaries (and one birthday). It is truly a very romantic spot!
Our dinner was delicious--Lamb and beef wellington--and a lovely bottle of wine.
Absolutely magical! Food was delicious - exceeded expectations!
Another sublime meal. Beautiful atmosphere—the most romantic restaurant in NYC. Great tasting meal, great service. Live music (beautiful piano playing) enhances the experience. No better place for a date or to celebrate a special occasion.
From the moment wile walked in, we felt like we had gone back in time. This 18th Century historical setting, once the home of Aaron Burr, was truly an event unto itself. The service was attentive and gracious. The food was exquisitely prepared and served. It was an evening to remember.
Best place to celebrate my birthday! Food was stellar, cocktails were delicious and service is off the charts attentive. Cannot say enough good things about this restaurant!
Everything was great—food service and of course ambience.
Birthday celebration….wonderful atmosphere. Fantastic food. Great service and attention.
Absolutely amazing birthday dinner! Definitely one of the most romantic places we’ve been. We did the Chef’s tasting menu; seven courses including a cheese and dessert course. Each course was timed well and tasted absolutely amazing. Each dish had great modern touches to classic dishes, like a truffle tapenade with the individual beef Wellington. Our servers were attentive and knowledgeable, providing perfect wine and drink recommendations and a small birthday treat to celebrate a great night.
Best food and experience we’ve had in nyc
I came here for my anniversary and had the most wonderful time. We were treated so kindly for our special night, chocolates and a free drink at the end of the night! It was amazing!
Amazing experience and food - they made our anniversary truly special.
The service is impeccable and the ambiance is wonderful. On top of the absolutely delicious food, the live piano player made for a truly lovely evening.
Around our 25-26!trip to One If for Anniversary Dinners (33years). All including this trip have been awesome! Highly recommended!
A beautiful place to celebrate a special occasion. The staff is very attentive and professional. Pricey but worth it.
Inexperienced waiter and servers sent out wrong food to the wrong tables, did not offer to replace/remake the dishes especially during COVID times. I didn’t bring it up as to not spoil the mood. Found a long hair in the teapot no offer for comp or acknowledgement of any kind from the floor manager. For the money I paid I think I can get better customer service at a McDonald’s. Food and ambiance was excellent however. I’d love to recommend for the food, but not for the service.
Overpriced, cheesy, food not at par with expectations.
Exquisite! We loved our experience!
Elegant restaurant with incredible ambiance and excellent service. Food was fantastic; beautiful presentation and absolutely delicious. A little pricey but definitely worth it for a special occasion.
Price difference between 3-course and 7-course seemed skewed. Our side dish, brussels sprouts, were surprisingly unpleasant, but our food otherwise was quite good, if a bit dated even for ‘classics.’ Drinks, service, and ambience were excellent. A charming little place with lots of tourists, some more conscientious of fellow diners than others.
Was a special evening to celebrate a birthday with my wife. We love that there were real candles on the table. We enjoyed the piano in the lobby near the bar. The beef Wellington and lobster were amazing. The dessert was delicious. We did find the prices were high for even New York City but it was a special evening and I would recommend it to others.
First rate in every respect. Food was outstanding and the ambience among the most romantic anywhere. Orchid (our server) made the evening extra special. Recommend asking for her by name when making your reservation.
Great food and ambience. We would go back again. Highly recommend.
