One Eleven Main Ratings and Reviews
This has always been one of our favorite Galena restaurants. We were disappointed this time. The waiter was outstanding but the food left much to be desired. I ordered the ravioli which is listed as one of their signature dishes. The actual raviolis were great but they were literally drowning in the lemon cream sauce. Thus they became soggy & the sauce, though tasty, was way too rich & too much. The yummy raviolis were lost. My husband ordered the almond crusted walleye. Bland, no flavor. Veges were good but the mashed potatoes were dry. The prices are pretty high at One Eleven Main for such mediocre food. The dessert was a pumpkin spiced cake. It too was very dry. How you can have a pumpkin cake that is dry is a mystery. I hope the kitchen can make some adjustments for improvement. We’d really like to come back.
I want to love this place since I am a fan of the concept but I can’t. Food quality is just too inconsistent— either mediocre or just plain poor. They used to have a reasonably good wine list by the glass— and now it’s been brought down a level and the selections are more budget wines versus good quality offerings.
My husband and I had dinner here on a Saturday evening. I would definitely recommend for attentive service and menu options, although I thought some entrees were slightly pricey, but this wouldn't prevent us from going back. Food was fresh and well prepared. And our server was awesome!
One Eleven Main was a great experience. The minute we walked in Laurie, the Manager, greeted us with a big hi and smile! William was our server and he was fantastic. Extremely knowledgeable about the restaurant history, ingredients of the food, wine selections, and overall a good sense of what I would like based on our conversation. Service was extremely attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed. Definitely a go-to place and would highly recommend! Ask for William!
YUCK! Disgusting. Hardly any food for the price. Your dinner doesn't even come with a salad. Fries are horrible. Burgers are just ok, but dry. (Medium well). Did not finish dinner. Don't come here if you want a steak either.
Had salad, poutine, and homemade ravioli and it was all delicious. Nice fresh salad with lots of different greens and tomatoes, basalmic vinegrette was delicious. Ravioli was so tender, filling delicious, and cream sauce amazing. Poutine was the best I have ever had.
We visit Galena a couple of times a year. We have started to make 111 a mandatory stop. The food is fresh, excellent, fairly priced. The service is fantastic. Our waiter was an expert on the wine list and made sure we made great choice. We have the same waiter every time we stop in. We had Walleye and salmon. Light, cooked beautifully.
I used to love this restaurant but it seems like the quality and preparation of the food has really declined. My salad had brown lettuce and was drowning in dressing. My salmon had a bad fishy smell. My boyfriend's steak was tough and overcooked. Seasonal vegetables were a few slices of a radish and two small pieces of asparagus. When we used to come a few years ago, this place was always crowded and you needed a reservation. We were one of two tables at 7pm on a Saturday night during busy season. Apparently others feel the same way we did after this past visit. Unfortunately we will not be back again.
Everyone in our group happy with their food. The cheese curds were the biggest hit. One of our group went just for the mojitos. Wine and beer selection also very good. There was a lot of variety among the entree choices and there were simpler choices like burgers for the less adventurous in our group. Liked that they sourced locally. Desserts were the least favorite part of the meal.
My wife and I ate here about 10 years ago when traveling through town. We had such a fantastic meal, we made a special trip to visit this restaurant. I can't put my finger on it exactly but the meal was just OK food. Nice place, cool ambience but the food was not worth the driver over from Dubuque.
This is the third time we've eaten here - we try to come back yearly for our anniversary. We love the food, which is always delicious. Their cheese curds are amazing - lightly battered and very flavorful. Cocktails are also excellent. The staff is friendly and attentive. We have never been disappointed.
