The Nantucket bay scallops were out of this world!
Great service our waitress - Stephanie was increíble - great food ; small but cozy ! I’m definitely going back!
Great meal, wonderful wine, and top notch service.
Had a wonderful dinner post Thanksgiving. Both of us had delicious fish dishes and startted with the halloumi apperizer. Our server Neri was so attentive and lovely. Love this place!
Great food and service!
We love One 53. Even though we had a reservation, we got stuck at an awful table right by the stairs, bathroom, and service bar. We asked about moving and were told it would be quite a wait. We then watched numerous couples go to other tables shortly after us. We love the restaurant, and we will continue to love the restaurant, but that was disappointing.
Love this place
The restaurant's atmosphere is nice; very rustic. This is an upscale restaurant with prices to match. I knew that when I made the reservation. The waitstaff was very attentive and did a great job. I didn't know how limited the menu is. It took my husband and I quite a long time to decide what to have. The appetizer selection was just not there and the entrees too. They had more exotic things like 2 different rabbit choices. There were several pasta choices but the other entrees were just not hitting home for us. I had the Bucatini with crab and fried lemons with red pepper flakes. The red pepper flakes overwhelmed the dish. I couldn't taste the crab at all; if I didn't see it was in there I wouldn't have known by tasting the dish. There were too many fried lemon rinds and I kept getting pieces in my mouth. My husband had one of the rabbit dishes. He enjoyed it. Dessert was the best part of the meal. I got the grilled pound cake ice cream sandwich and my husband got the warm chocolate chip cookie with ice cream. I think there was a 1/2 scoop of ice cream on his..not enough for this dish, but still very delicious. I won't run back here...
It was my first visit and I was very impressed.
Top notch, quality food and service. It’s always fresh and the people take pride in their work and delivery of device.
Excellent “Best Kept Secret” outside of the downtown Princeton area. Excellent service, and Will at the bar does an excellent job!
Stephanie was great and they were understaffed that night, apparently.
Food , service, etc consistently good.
Food and service were outstanding. Sausage and broccoli rabe was perfect. Huge salad was terrific. Crab and linguini was superb. Loved the 1/2 chicken and potatoes. Wine was very good. It was Friday nite, a full house and noise level was moderate. The refreshed decor was very pleasant and tasteful. A favorite place to go.
This is a restaurant designed for people between 20 and 30. It was excessively noisy. The food was good, but overpriced given the surrounds.
Selected this restaurant for a birthday celebration and notified them of such but they took no notice. Food is of good quality but overpriced. To be honest there are other restaurants in the area that have a better atmosphere and price with the same quality of food.
We have been comming here for many years. The food and service have been consistently excellent. Never a bad meal, quite the opposite everything from appetizers to desserts is always very tasty. The pound cake dessert with ice creme is an experience. The staff is always accommodating, knowledgeable, and friendly.
Loved the food and atmosphere in sleepy Rocky Hill!
The best place to eat is at the bar... the noise is high when you eat in the dining room.
The food and service are great!
Took a friend with us. Excellent food and comfortable to share an evening.
Good food. Overpriced wine!
Friendly staff remembered from previous visit and carefully explained special items on the menu, great food and nice time
One of my favorite places in the area. Zero pretense, outstanding food, superb drinks, and if you're lucky to get Scott as your server, simply the best service you've ever had anywhere for any price. Feels like home.
The place is small and can get noisy. The tables by the railing/stairs aren't ideal.
Love One 53 just wish it was bigger ... tables weren’t so close together.
A small restaurant, pleasantly furnished, convenient parking in rear, favored by mid-life, working guests. The food was OK, not fine dining but as pricey as fine dining dishes are. Our party of 4 had the flounder (good), Griggstown chicken (delicious sauce, customer does the work of getting the meat of the bones), both my husband & I asked him to take 50% from each when we handed him the bill & cc's. He charged the entire meal to us, & it was awkward & embarrassing to have to ask him to go back and divide the bills 50-50 as we'd asked. He told us we did not ask. Overall service was OK otherwise--all tables filled soon. Second time we've been here. Not our choice for a third time.
One of our very favorite places! Have never had a bad meal, or even closely resembling one.
I stood and waited for a table for 55 minutes with reservation while there were tables we could have sat down at! After complaining we were finally seated at the worst table in the house which we refused. Then I had asked to sit at a table for four and she wouldn’t let us. But after we finally sat down she placed two women at the table for four???? Good food but was a very uncomfortable situation.
My husband and I had dinner on Saturday night. The restaurant and bar was bustling as usual. Service is always terrific! I had the flounder in brown butter with cherry tomatoes...it was awesome! I highly recommend One53 for a casual but excellent dining experience.
The quality of ingredients used in preparation of food was very low.
The food was good but it was pretty expensive. Some of the appetizer portions were pretty small for the price. I liked the root beer float for dessert. That was definitely a little something different. The bronzino was very good but it came with French fries and there was some special sauce that came with it that came with an extra charge, something we were not notified of....
Great service and food
Excelent food and service one of the best spot for dining
We went for the seasonal fall specials, and they did not disappoint! We loved the burrata, squash soup, butternut squash ravioli, and spicy shrimp dishes!
Always love the experience at One 53. It would be great if the acoustics could be improved, especially in the back corner: some guests that night shared especially enthusiastic conversation.
So many fantastic dishes. Every time I try something different the consistent quality amazes me. Best restaurant in the Princeton area.
Excellent and interesting food. Many items that I wanted to choose from foie gras to sqash ravioli and grilled caesar - a favorite. It is pricey, and the wine is pricey. That and it is a bit noisy are the downsides.
Great meal and service as always but do not like the new interior design! It’s lost the ambience that we so enjoy!
As long as you don’t mind a noisy environment where you sit in close quarters, ONE 53 is very good. Good food and service. Never disappointed.
Constistently amazingly. Best restaurant in the area by far.
We were celebrating our anniversary with another couple. It turned out to be the perfect spot to enjoy a leisurely dinner while we all shared our latest travels. The food was excellent and we were very grateful that the acoustics allowed us to chat away with ease. We will return and I have already suggested my adult children check it out!
