Food was delicious however we each had an app, main course, bread & dessert and we left hungry. Portions were smaller than we remembered.
Such a special place and the view of the river is amazing. The service was wonderful. Food allergies, no problem. Can’t say enough wonderful things about what a gem it is.
Absolutely top notch.
Attention to detail is unmatched.
Attentive staff, gourmet fare, and incredible views make this restaurant a bell-ringer for special occasions.
We had a wonderful time joining you all for dinner. The food was excellent, the service was great and we loved how intimate it all felt. The only feedback I would give was we were hoping for more privacy during our romantic evening out and we were checked on every couple of minutes throughout our whole time there, which wasn’t necessary. I know they meant well, but it was a little distracting. Otherwise everyone was friendly, welcoming and we’ll be back.
Poor quality food with inadequate portions. Menu too limited and not conducive to accomadating dietary restrictions. Over priced for what they are actually providing. Gourmet presentation with Mc Donald’s level meal. A for environment F for food. Service is very good but if you are not serving me quality well prepared tasty food with adequate portions I could care less about your view! So many amazing restaurants in the area definitely skip this one!
We love this restaurant and went to celebrate a birthday with friends. We were looking forward to the tasting menu, but couldn’t have it as on e of friends has food allergies and it is only available if the whole table has it.There was a large private party which impacted service, but we still enjoyed the evening.
One cannot beat the ambiance - spectacular views of the Connecticut River Valley and the city. The food is excellent and the service very pleasant and attentive. It is a special spot.
I chose ON20 for an engagement surprise. I spoke to management and they took care of eveything. Gave them some ideas and the rest of the night was magical. The server was wonderful, and the food was spectacular. The dessert was the best part! I would definitely recommend for any occasion. Thank you ON20
Great menu, excellent service and a spectacular view.
First time I had been to ON20, and wanted to make sure I brought my girlfriend to a place unlike any other. The hospitality and the food were amazing. The view overlooked the river and the skyline, and the atmosphere was quiet enough to have a conversation while enjoying great music. The drinks were superb with an excellent menu for wine, cocktails, and beer.
Thoroughly enjoyed everything. We ordered skate and hanger steak. Both were delicious. The service was perfect.
Excellent price fixe during Hartford restaurant week. Great food and service. Can’t wait to go back!
My fiancé and I went to On20 for dinner during Taste of Hartford. The experience left much to be desired. Unfortunately, we were seated far away from the windows so we did not benefit from the views. The ambience in the restaurant was nice with plush carpet, comfortable chairs, and clean and crisp tablecloth. It took a while for someone to serve us, but eventually someone came to the table and offered us water. Sometime later, another server came to take our drink order. (We were waiting for a while.) I ordered a glass of wine. My fiancé does not drink and inquired about the nonalcoholic drinks. Specifically my fiancé asked if the bar carried pear juice. The server simply stated, “no.” He did not offer any alternatives, which in our experience good wait staff tend to do. Upon further inquiry, our server unhelpfully stated that they just had soft drinks. He did not offer nonalcoholic cocktails or any other options. On20 markets itself as a fine dining restaurant. The taste of Hartford menu is a three course meal at a reduced cost. When it came time for us to order, our server was not helpful in answering questions about the menu. My fiancé ordered a clam pasta for his first course. He said that it was too “fishy.” I ordered the heirloom tomatoes, and was rather surprised when only a small fraction of my plate was covered with food. The dish itself was only mediocre. Main courses were slightly better but still not very good. My fiancé ordered one of the fish dishes, and again felt like it was too “fishy.“ I ordered the potato Gnocchi and it was okay, but the portion size was still pretty small. The desserts were overall pretty good. All in all, even with the reduced prices for the Taste of Hartford, we ended up spending nearly $100 for food that was mediocre, and service that was subpar. I could not imagine paying more for such small quantities of mediocre food. We likely will not be dining here again.
Hostess was very accommodating. Service was superb. Did not rush us. Remembered it was a special occasion and brought out candle with dessert.
excellent restaurant. Don't think we could afford dinning here unless we come during restaurant
My only criticism was portion size. I am not a big eater and usually have leftovers when I go out. Not the case this time and I was hungry later that evening. If I had gone in with a big appetite I would have been disappointed. They were more like tasting portions and the dessert was good but miniscule. Other than that the food, service and ambiance were great
Our experience at On20 for the Taste of Hartford Summer 2018 was extraordinary. Everything we drank and ate was of the highest quality, elegantly presented, and prepared to perfection. My first course was a corn veloute. it was remarkable. The potato gnocchi entree was perfection. The gnocchi were the light pillows surrounded by tasty tomatoes and other vegetables prepared skillfully. My dessert was a delectable lemon tart. I can still taste its refreshing tartness on my tongue two days later. The ambiance was calm and elegant and the views were spectacular. Mike, the maitre d, was welcoming and checked on our satisfaction and comfort. On20 is beyond all doubt the very best restaurant in central Connecticut. if you love fine food, excellent beverages, and a quiet, refined dining atmosphere, then On20 is your destination.
Dined during Hartford restaurant week and enjoyed all 3 courses. Food was phenomenal and the wine list was top notch. Wait staff was welcoming and service was prompt. Enjoyed the view of downtown Hartford and the atmosphere was very pleasant. Will definitely go back soon.
The service was outstanding. The view was to die for. The food was great.
We dined recently during CT Restaurant Week and chose from a 3-course prix-fixe menu for $30.18 per person. We were shown immediately to our table with no wait. Before dinner we each had a specialty cocktail, a Negroni (gin, Campari and sweet vermouth)—interesting and enjoyable, with the bitters more forward than the sweetness, accompanied by their warm homemade sourdough whole grain nutty bread. We each chose Tagliatelle Nero for the 1st course, which included squid ink tagliatelle, a half-dozen Manila clams in the shell, fermented chiles and garlic herb bread crumbs—wonderful combination of textures and savory flavors. For the 2nd course I chose Potato Gnocchi, which was light and flavorful, with finely diced zucchini, chopped Marconi almonds (like almonds on steroids), and tomato confit, excellent. My sweetheart had Sea Bream, a delicately flavored fish, with French-cut green beans and basil pistou. He found it a small portion, with an interesting blend of flavors, well-paired with a light Pinot noir/rose. For dessert I had the Summer Berry tart with pistachio sucree, yuzu curd and garden herbs—similar to a very light cheesecake, with every bite tasting different depending on which berry I had with the bite. He had the “Opera”—layered espresso cream, chocolate ganache and hazelnut dacquoise, kind of like a very grown-up Ferrero Roche cake—absolutely delicious. We ended our evening wandering (at their invitation) through On20’s then-vacant private rooms to enjoy various views of Hartford and the Conn. River by night. The server, maitre d’, ambiance a cut above the rest—we’ll definitely be back for another special evening out. Parking is simple in 1st floor garage, free with validation.
We went as a couple for lunch to celebrate my birthday. Mike is the consummate host. The service was impeccable. Awesome attention to detail. The food was luscious & artfully served. The Pinot Grigio was excellent. The decor is tasteful & has an elegant flair. The view of Hartford from the 20th floor is outstanding. We had a wonderful afternoon at a very reasonable price point. We can’t wait to go back and highly recommend On 20.
Once again On20 delivered on its promise of exceptional food, professional service and an all-around high level dining experience--the finest Hartford County has to offer.
Menu was extremely limited and they ran out of two dishes. Service was superb, but improvements/expansion of menu (and having menu items in stock) are necessary. There are too many other great restaurants in Hartford
Very Unique dinning experience. Highly recommend this place
Michael McGarrity and CIndy are the perfect hosts for a business/pleasure luncheon
Excellent Food , Amazing Atmosphere, Superb Service.
Great as always. Great ambiance. Tasting menu was outstanding.
The only disappointment was that our entree of choice (soft shell crabs) was not available. The waitress said that the crabs were not of the quality that the restaurant was accustomed. This was disappointing because there are only about 6 entrees and this was by far our choice. Otherwise, the food was very good and the service excellent.
The food was good and cooked on point. Disappointing was that for the kind of restaurant the service was really not where it should have been. The server didn't ask if the vine is ok before pouring the last out of the bottle. The table was squeezed in a tinny corner so that the server had to reach over your food to actually fill your glass. The ambient light was very bright and the music a tick too loud. Major disappointment was the staff that wasn't trained well enough for that kind if ambiente.
Invited two high school students to celebrate their graduation. Wanted quiet, but not too formal. The menu choices were interesting, allowing for some learning and new tasting opportunities. The staff encouraged a relaxed evening, which is exactly what we wanted and enjoyed. Food and the presentation added to a wonderful evening that will be memorable for the students.
Incredible views of Hartford skyline and river. Food was of very high quality - small portions but beautifully plated and we all left full. Only complaint was service was slow so we missed dessert because we had to leave within 2 hrs to see a show. (We had notified the host.) I think that their norm is a slow evening meal - so leave 2.5 hrs or more for your meal. I would go again - though pricey.
Exquisite food, top-notch service, high-end ambiance, and great views of Hartford - plan to be there for sunset!
My wife and I are professional chefs and look forward to the few times we actually get the opportunity to go out together and enjoy a good meal that we don’t have to prepare. We are from Manhattan and new to the area but we were recommended to On20 from a few people and we were looking forward to it. After reading the bios of the culinary staff we were excited to see the menu and unfortunately it fell very flat. The most upsetting part of our night was when the lamb entree that we ordered medium rare arrived very undercooked as seen in the picture(it was closer to raw). Not rare, but raw. The bread was also burnt... We’re all about crusty bread but this was a little too far.
Service was mediocre and food was fair. Room for improvement since cocktails and wine list were good! I was expecting more and on20 fell short.
Excellent service, wonderful ambience and amazing views. Only negative was portion size of the entrees. I'm not a 'big' eater, and I understand that fine dining is characterized by smaller meals, but this was almost a joke. The food tasted fine.
What a wonderful dinner. From taking our coats to coffee and dessert. Perfection!
I ordered the venison which was perfectly cooked, an appetizer and a dessert. The view over Hartford was very scenic. Waitstaff was friendly. However, one really needs to order three courses to get a complete meal. The main dish was almost bare with only the venison and red cabbage. I alerted the waiter that I cannot eat unpasteurized foods but was still served a raw oyster as an amuse bouche. There were no vegetarian main dish options. I would come back again for a special occasion to try the tasting menu, but would not make this restaurant a regular go-to.
Always the top choice for a special occasion event
Food and the service were superb. Jesse put on quite the show for my friends and they have been talking about ever since. We will be back!
