On The Marsh Bistro
Service was awesome
Attentive and knowledgeable
Food was great. Nice selection from the from menu as well as daily specials-carefully explained.
A must visit during your travels for fine dining.
We always enjoy our visits to One the Marsh Bistro. We love the ambiance as well as the delicious food. It is one of our favorite places to enjoy lunch.
The food was poor to fair, with the appetizer lamb being badly overcooked. Some of the mussels was "past their prime" and marginal. The server, while efficient, was overly loud and more akin to a bar server than a good restaurant host. The vegetarian dish was mostly potato and a few bits of other items, not particularly savory or tasty. The Seafood Marseilles has a good amount of seafood, but was expensive for what was provided. We would not recommend this restaurant for anything other than basic eats, certainly not a high-end provider.
Great food. Bryan, our server, was terrific. Looking forward to returning.
A truly remarkable meal paired with attentive and lovely service. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a meal to remember!
Anniversary dinner. Place was absolutely fantastic the food the ambience everything was perfect. The duck was the best I’ve ever had
First time, enjoyed very much. Piano added to the evening!
Overall very good. First time for our visitor. We've been there more than 5 times. always good to eat there.
Love this restaurant. Beautiful decor and top notch servers. A little on the pricey side but nice for a sophisticated and elegant dinner. Wine list by the glass is excellent and well priced. But appetizers were about $20 which makes it steep.
Very disappointed with the overall experience. Not good value for the price paid. Better food at other local resturants. Service was mediocre. Would not recommend
Went here for our anniversary dinner tonight. Beautiful setting inside and out! We were greeted with a glass of Prosecco because of our anniversary. What a nice surprise! The food was delicious. We’ll definitely go back.
The place is charming and beautiful.
The food was average and expensive. I don’t mind paying high price for quality food. The quality is not there for the price you pay.
Service was very friendly and accommodating.
We were a party of 6. We had a very good recommandation for this restaurant. But we’re very disappointed.
Two of us took the rack of lamb and it was over cooked even if we had specified medium-rare, it was completely grey.
But the rest of the food was very good.
The service was lacking the standard that should be expected for a restaurant of that quality and price.
I would never expect someone to take a glass of wine by the top, pass over a person to give the plate of the next one, drop all the forks for the dessert in the middle of the table and you manage with it, etc.
We enjoyed our meal and the service was excellent. Unfortunately we probably won't visit On The Marsh Bistro again because they don't accept American Express.
Had been at OTM many years ago. Loved it first time and was just as excellent the second.
Hope to be back again. Food was excellent. Staff was very friendly and offered just the right
amount of attention. Recommend highly.
Really enjoyed our time here. Felt the staff was so kind in accommodating our group and getting the booster seats we needed for the kiddos. Took advantage of the Tuesday/Wednesday $30 special. Salad was satisfactory, but felt the chicken was delicious and so was the dessert. So many great photo op spots outside. Appreciated the tables were spaced out enough that we didn’t feel crammed.
Terrific seafood in a calm, no pressure, slow paced atmosphere. Upscale dining at an exceptional level . We will eat there again without any doubt.
Terrific food and excellent ambiance. A real treat. Awesome waitress. Only disappointment was Trip Advisor showed Venison Rib Eye on the menu. Once we were seated I was informed they hadn’t served that for 4 years. Idk? Anyway, my Lobster Stew app was great and I enjoyed my Pea Risotto with pan seared scollops. My wife enjoyed her lamb chops.
I’d highly recommend!!
It was a wonderful evening. We all said it was our best dining experience in Maine
We visit Kennebunk every year and make it a point to come to On The Marsh for dinner. The food and service has been consistently outstanding. The quiet atmosphere is a nice change from other restaurants in the area that are very noisy. It's a great place to celebrate a birthday or anniversary or just enjoy a great meal.
Family from 5 states gathered together:New Hampshire, Georgia,Colorado,California and Pennsylvania joined we locals.
The atmosphere is so fun, I loved looking around at the decor. The presentation of the food is beautiful, the surf and turf was perfect. The staff is kind and helpful with choosing a wine.
Our waitress was very poor. For the caliber of this restaurant, we would have expected a waitress that poured our drinks and to be very attentive. On the contrary, our waitress had an unnecessary attitude, seemed to be confrontational about our wine selection ($95) and never refilled our glasses. She made us feel we were keeping the restaurant open late when our reservation was at 8 pm. The food was decent- the charcuterie plate was pretty basic. My husband’s $40 lamb chops were overly cooked and very mustardy. My tenderloin was very good. Overall we expected a better experience given the reviews and awards and were unfortunately disappointed, especially in relation to the price point.
We try to eat each year on our Maine vacation: a special treat since we always have good food and a great time.
Dreadful. Service was similar to a diner.
We’ve had dinner here in the past. Perhaps the management has changed. The cook was no chef. The food was subpar at high prices
Had a reservation -sat promptly. No one acknowledged us for 17 mins. so asked to move to bar seats where girl there wAs making drinks and doing ever think else . 1 waitress for whole restaurant! Actually felt bad for her. They said a waitress called in sick and also lost servers due to back to school. Should have back ups because the prices certainly were the same , and spiked my last night of vacation. The food was good but won't be back.
Very tasty food, beautiful ambience.
Overpriced Lobster Stew and cake.
Waitor was excellent, but food was not . Surf and Turf special was served with a chewy piece of meat not up to your normal standards. Then when I saw the bill and realized I had paid almost $70 for the meal, it increased my dissatisfaction. Alot of money for a sub par meal.
This was out 4th time going there and the expectations were high based on the other 3 times being outstanding in every way. Something clearly has changed at On The Marsh Bistro; 4 out of the 7 meals had to be returned as they were served cold, a 5th was barely warm and should have been returned but I did not for some reason. The 4 meals took a very long time to be returned - they were hot but tasted just okay. A real disappointment as this was supposed to be the highlight of our annual trip to Maine. The waiter made the excuse that a chef walked out on them - it is difficult to tell if that was the truth or the waiter let the food sit way too long prior to bringing the food to our table. Something is clearly different in a bad way.
Disappointed. Over priced.
My rack of lamb was over cooked, not medium-rare as I ordered. I sent my meal back and it took much too long to receive a new one. My husband described his fish & chips as ordinary. He expected more from an upscale restaurant.
The ambience was lovely, the waitstaff attentive but the food was mediocre. We expected more.
We have been dining at On The Marsh for 5 or so years now. Love the atmosphere, the service and the food. We had mixed feelings about the food this time. We both ordered the Rack of Lamb. On the one hand, it was excellent; it had a mustard sauce which was very tasty. But, on the other hand, the mustard sauce was quite strong so it hid the last of the lamb.
Phenomenal experience!!!! HIGHLY recommend.
Very underwhelmed. Scheduled a dinner here for our 30th anniversary and chose "Table Sixteen" based on the descriptions on the website. Unfortunately, the table is right next to another table so you are literally shoulder to shoulder with the next table. The biggest let down was that there was absolutely no effort to make our special occasion special even though it was well noted on our reservation. By no means were we looking for "freebies", but based on other reviews we expected more attention to detail. Service overall was ok, but was not fancy. Food was adequate, but again not fancy. Would not return and would not recommend to others.
We live in Rhode island & Can't wait to get here for high quality food & service. Favorite restaurant!
Lovely evening, fabulous food. So glad you have put in the metal ramp so you won’t have to close when the weather is wet this winter!
Vacation-the service was great. The scallops were cooked perfectly but the pasta was under seasoned. Lovely setting
Found this place during our Vacation and was pleased with the food. Wait staff was friendly but not super friendly. Food was good but not extraordinary. 4 but not a 5
By Maine standards a very good restaurant. Everything on the menu is excellent, albeit a bit pricey. If you're in Kennebunkport, a very good choice for a meal with a touch of elegance. Highly recommend...
