Reservation was recommended but unnecessary. Slow night I guess but, was during "restaurant week." Service was quite acceptable and food was very good. Drinks were sorta stingy compared to other restaurants. Would definitely recommend for dining and will return.
Some things were very good, some were not. The chicken liver appetizer was very good. The crab in the crab cake appetizer was very good, but the mustard sauce overwhelmed the crab flavor. I had the blackened grouper over hoppin' johns with braised collards. The fish was good, but not blackened, and the collards overwhelmed everything else so I just ate the collards separately. The blackeyed peas in the hoppin' johns were not done (still hard). My husband had blackened catfish over grits and his grits were cold. We had the chocolate cake and it was great.
A little off the beaten path which we really enjoyed. It was a girls night out and we picked the perfect spot! The service was top notch, friendly and our server knew the menu and how the food was prepared which is always a plus! There were 5 of us and we all ordered something different and each of us loved what we ordered. May I suggest the fried Brussel sprouts, they will change your life! We enjoyed our evening out at On Forty One very much.
Always good! Ask to be seated in Heather's section...she is a wonderful server.
Good, reasonably priced food. But you're packed in shoulder to shoulder with the couple at the next table. And it's LOUD. You may be on top of the next table, but you can't hear their conversation; you can't hear your own. I look forward to trying again in the spring or fall when it's comfortable outside and it's just the 41 traffic that I have to talk over.
We arrived and they said they had no table for us. We had to eat at the bar. The hostess were rude .
Great atmosphere. Our waiter was awesome! The food wasn't hot when brought out to us, had to send back.
Live a short distance from the restaurant and finally got an opportunity to try their menu. Name of restaurant lists as On Forty-one Backyard Dining. Ordered the burger and truffle fries. Great taste and generous portions. Has outdoor dining, but it is adjacent to a busy road. Good buffer from seating to road, but can still hear alot of traffic. Since the name states Backyard Dining, I thought the prices would be reasonable. I was disappointed the appetizers were $8-9 and entress were on average $18-20.
Food and service above the norm! Going for dinner this week. Went for Brunch Sunday. In love with this place!
Try the pork chop and any drinks with their house made ginger beer.
First, it was a busy night due to restaurant week. Our party of four ordered from the special restaurant week menu, three smoked ribeye steaks and blackened grouper. The grouper was delivered hot and was very tasty. All three of the smoked steaks were room temperature by the time they were delivered. They did offer to take them back and throw them back on a grill to heat them up, but we had waited a while for our dinner due to the crowd so all agreed to continue with the meal as it was. The steaks had a very good flavor, but would have been much tastier had they been delivered at the proper temperature. This was our third visit to this restaurant and we have always been very pleased in the past. We'll just chalk up this visit to being very busy during restaurant week.
I think this is a nice spot especially during warmer moths. This particular night the covered patio area was a little too cold to sit diners and we asked to go inside. The food wasn't the best the best but would be willing try again. We had fun though and the service was excellent!
As usual, On 41 provided excellent service as well as outstanding cuisine. If you haven't been yet, you are missing out. I'm glad we made reservations, as they can fill up quickly with the locals. My father loved the pork chop, and the collards are always the best!! Heather G was a terrific server. I had one of the restaurant week options, which was fantastic.
I had the pork chop with collard greens and mac & cheese. The pork chop was delicious and the collard greens were spot on! Going back tonight!
Great local place, great food, great bartenders and servers.
We went to On 41 for New Year's Eve dinner and had a great meal!! My girlfriend and I have been there several times and always have great food and a good time. It is definitely worth trying out if you line in Mount Pleasant!
I have been here several times and highly recommend it for great food and service.
Great food/great service/great experience
Friendly restaurant. Staff is nice and attentive. Most of all, the food is very good.
Too loud but overall an awesome experience!!! Love their MAC and cheese.
Why do we even come back to this place? Came here for a holiday meal with family, and had to endure Heather the nightmare server again. She's awkward and inattentive. My food was subpar (over half the braised short rib was fat...for a cool $23). Never coming back here. This place is one disappointment after the next
Food was good as always. Heather was wonderful. Very friendly and had no issues with special orders.
Food was good, server was pleasant but distracted. Our drinks stayed at the bar, waiting for pick up, for almost 10 minutes while she spoke with people at an adjoining table that appeared to be her friends. She was quick only in getting our checks to us
It was our first time there the service was excellent and the food was very good we will definitely be back !
Good service .service heather very good as always .
We had an exceptional brunch at On 41. The service was friendly and upbeat. The prices were incredibly reasonable. The food was DELICIOUS. It was a great place to bring our kids. We will definitely be back!
Our dinner was outstanding! The pasta with pesto cream sauce and fresh veggies was absolutely delicious as was the brased beef rib and risotto. We will go back very soon!
Nice small restaurant with indoor and outdoor (covered) dining.
Bar outdoor area little too noisy for intimate dining but indoor was fine.
Chicken good, porkchop good, sides too.
Will prob go back
Wonderful Nashville Hot Chicken and smoked Pork Chops! YUM!
Always a pleasure to be served by your staff. Food is always at temp and servers are friendly. Keep up the good work. Our waitress on that night Heather was exceptional. Thanks
An average restaurant with very good service and average food. Known for its pork chop, I thought it was a little better than average. The interior theme of the decor was school lunch room. I think the restaurant could upgrade its image a little. The service and some of the food could support it.
It was our first time at the restaurant and we liked the outdoor porch vibe but still warm. The burger was amazing.
We were gravely disappointed by this restaurant. The bar pours were pathetic, the food was mediocre at best and the table centerpiece was literally a roll of paper towel. We will not be returning.
As always, On FortyOne was exceptional. The Sunday brunch options were many and the ones we had were great--fried chicken and waffle plus fried catfish. Service was great and a visit by Chef Brannon Florie to our table made the day!
Generally speaking, we really enjoyed dining at On Forty-one. All the food tasted great, although the mashed potatoes were served at room temperature. Also, our waitress was hard to understand, which I believe was a combination of the way she spoke and the talking of the folks around us. The ambiance was nice enough, but nothing exceptional. I can easily recommend this restaurant.
This restaurant had a great modern vibe. The menu had a great choice and we enjoyed our meal. I had the truffle fries which were a bit cold and there was just too many, a bit off-putting, but everything else was perfect, especially my fried green tomato appetiser.
The staff were very attentive, we would definitely return to this restaurant.
On Forty-One could be underestimated based on location and curb appeal, but don't make that mistake. They've got the BEST burgers in the low country, which is what I normally order. It was restaurant week, though and I decided to dive in to try their interesting salad, salmon and dessert. The salad came on a PLATTER - literally a full meal in itself. Filled with the freshest ingredients, I ate the whole thing and should have put the rest of the courses in a doggie bag. However, I couldn't resist the beautiful salmon that came out perfectly cooked medium rare. Again, a rarity in restaurant week is to be served full sized dishes and this was the regular entree size. Too delicious to eat only part of it (leftover salmon just doesn't cut it for me), I stuffed myself with every last bite. The dessert was a disappointment, but I'm not a dessert eater, so no harm no foul. Worth every penny and rivals the best meals at the finest restaurants downtown!
The food was outstanding!! The waitress did a phenomenal job serving us. The only let down was the desserts. My wife got the cupcakes and they were very dry along with the cake my mother in law had. My dessert was pretty good but I probably wouldn't get it again. I will say that was the best pork chop I have ever tasted. I would come back just for that alone.
We had a reservation at 6:00 on a Friday night, so we were there before it got busy. We asked about a substitution or two on the menu, and it's fine that they don't want to change anything since it might have taken an extra minute or two but the server wasn't even interested in having the conversation. Seemed a little hurried for how few people were there at the time. Anyway, two of us had the lobster, shrimp & grits which was really good. One of our party had fried chicken and said it was good, and our 4th person had pasta and seemed to like it.
The part that will keep me from going often was the long wait for our food. When a restaurant is really busy on a Friday night we expect a wait and are fine with it. But there were so few patrons when we were there and it was frustrating. It was hard to catch our server's eye for water and drink refills, and she didn't come by often. But of course when it was time to bring the bill, she was a lot nicer and brought us a piece of (nasty) chocolate cake to make up for the long wait for our food, which she never even apologized for while we were waiting all that time. I'd rather have had an apology during the time we were getting frustrated about the long wait, than the piece of cake at the very end.
Very disappointing, since this place is near our home and would have been a fun place to look forward to going to often.
We have loved On Forty One but our last 3 visits have NOT been great experiences. We have kept going back because we 1) hoped the previous visit was just an off night and 2) we love the food. However, unless you have 2+ hrs to give for a place that you typically are just grabbing dinner, you will be frustrated. Our service has been lacking, almost like they are understaffed. If it is taking a while for the kitchen to get the food out, all I would expect is for the server to say just that....an acknowledgment. The last few times, not the case. We were just ignored until the food came. So disappointed!!
