Omakase Sushi Bar - Manchebo Beach Resort & Spa
The Chef will present a series of plates, beginning with the lightest and proceeding to heavier, richer dishes. When ordering Omakase, expect the Chef to be innovative and surprising in the selection of dishes. Ordering from the menu is available as well. Located inside the French Steak House Restaurant at the Manchebo Beach Resort & Spa and features an illuminated bar, comfortable seating, boutique feel and ambiance.
We love the sushi rolls here and return each year during vacation. It is always fresh and flavorful. The presentation is beautiful. The chef, Mylene, is so nice and makes sure the guests enjoy their food. The ambiance with Eddy playing piano is always so nice. We always enjoy this place.
Nice surprise to encounter this fantastic sushi bar on the island. We loved the spicy Manchebo roll and the ya miso a noodle dish. Chef Mylene and waiter Eloy were very attentive to our needs.
What a wonderful dinner. Great service and super fresh sushi. The miso soup was a big hit
Multiple innovative sushi preparations. Just loved the food!
Another excellent experience. We discovered this little gem last year while staying at the Bucuti. Atmosphere, service and food selection was all outstanding. My wife loves the yakimeshi rice dish which was new on the menu this year. I enjoyed the miso soup, some sashimi and the surf and turf roll.
This sushi bar continues to be my favorite on the island. Great atmosphere, attentive service and delicious rolls. We love the new noodle dish yaki-soba.
Hands down the best sushi we’ve ever had. Fresh, very generous portions, and the presentation was beautiful. Seated at the sushi bar, though we were asked if we wanted to sit at a high top table. It was fun to watch the sushi being made, but there was a lot of activity. Might opt for the table next time. Staff was delightful! When making reservations we mentioned that we had recent birthdays. We were surprised with a complimentary dessert with flaming candle. If you love sushi...a must go.
After reading the reviews we wanted to try the sushi at Omakase Sushi Bar. We love eating sushi, but this restaurant doesn’t deliver the value for the money spent. The quality of the fish was not good and the price is very high. We wouldn’t recommend it.
Sushi craving fulfilled! Disappointed that I couldn't take part of the omakase tasting (min 2 people) but the nigiri servings were plump and tasty. Very friendly service and would come back again. Thank you.
Excellent sushi. Good quality and variety. The friendly sushi chef provided a unique experience with her presentation and creativeness. The surf and turf roll was amazing and a must try even for non sushi eaters. Looking forward to going back.
outstanding sushi and great service. owner comes to your table to be sure you are happy!
They lost our reservation because Open Table was down but restaurant was pretty empty. Sushi was expensive and not all that impressive. The waitor however was very nice. That only really positive thing. Hard pass on this restaurant. I am confused by the good reviews Maybe these folks have never eaten Sushi? Really disappointing out of all the restaurants we ate at while in Aruba.
Very fresh and original sushi rolls. Absolutely delicious. Great presentation and taste. Chef Darkene does wonderful job. The place is located inside the Chophouse restaurant. Sushi bar is very small. Make reseravation.
The hostess acted as if she did not have our reservation. She barely looked at us. We were seated at the far end of the bar with the fish cooler taking half of the space. The worst seat in the house despite there being open tables for the entire time. The sushi was fair at best- fell apart when I picked it up with chopsticks. The main sushi chef was on vacation and the fill-in chef was pleasant (we were seated right in front of her), but needs quite a bit more training. I worked hard to convince my husband to try this restaurant. We will not return.
The sushi was fantastic. Yakisoba noodles were very good. One of the best meals I've eaten in Aruba
Food fresh, staff great! Went there twice, will be back next year.
Enjoyed sushi here in the past. Unfortunately this visit was a nightmare. Our server was amazing, and probably the only reason we stayed. Drinks and wine were served promptly, our food order was taken promptly. However after an hour and 10 minutes, no food was served. The two ladies at the sushi bar, creating Our meals, should probably be fired as they were not interested in our servers concern for their slow service. At one point when I asked how much longer, the server walked over to them and he was dismissed with a wave of their hand. Unfortunately we will not return to this venue after enjoying it in the past.
Sushi so fresh and Mylene and staff were wonderful!
Simply the best!!! Skinny jeans and sashimi maki are my favorites! A great staff and value.....will come back again and again
Chef Milene's ( Omakase - Chef's Choice ) was incredible from beginning to end, for us the flavors were perfection.
Very expensive for quality. Tiny portions. Mostly rice in rolls and very little fish. Only 3 gyoza in order that cost $12.
Best sushi on island.. hands down.
This was one of our favorites in Aruba. Very small and limited seating so be sure to reserve. Delicious sushi and excellent service. Can’t wait to go back next year!
Each piece of sushi and every dish was made from the chefs heart. Lots of delicious food being served. Total love being spread around to each dish and to every customer.
Can’t wait to return!
This was a great place for sushi! The head chef was very attentive with excellent suggestions!
We stayed at Mancebo and we came here twice for dinner, it’s a great place to relax have some Saki and Sushi. The sushi is creative and very fresh, better then a lot of places by NYC standards. The Caribbean in general you have to really search for good food and this is really good. The service was excellent and the chefs are so nice and check on the tables to make sure you’re happy. The rolls are the way to go and the crab salad is excellent and the Miara Maki was our favorite along with the rainbow roll. Best restaurant on the property by far!
arrived on time for our dinner reservation at 7:00 pm for four people. The hostess informed us that the tables from the 5:30 seating was still there. She asked us to wait outside the restaurant and my husband decided to have a martini that was absolutely terrible. We waited until 7:50 at which time we were seated. We were asked if we wanted drinks after being seated for ten minutes. Another ten minutes went by and still no waitress. We decided to leave and will never return . When explained my situation and unfairness to the hostess she shrugged her shoulders and said nothing. Not an offer for a drink not anything to get us to stay. This left us starving and upset. There were only 4 tables used for sushi and then the sushi bar. What a waste of time. Not a frequent reviewer but maybe I can spare the aggregation to others. Will not recommend and will be informing all that travel to Aruba. Been coming here for 20 years I guess you can’t always have a good experience!
Excellent Sushi. Even made some small adjustments for us.
Awesome hidden spot
Omakase was an exceptional experience—maybe the best sushi restaurant I’ve ever been to! I chose it based on the positive reviews, so I’m happy to add another. Try the crab salad. It’s not what I expected, and OMG—I could have that for dinner every day. Little shreds of things that combine beautifully, and topped with fish roe. We had the rolls, one of which was the crispy eel roll—outstanding! The other was a large roll whose name I forget, but it was amazing. The effervescent owner was present and checked in with us several times, making the service attentive and friendly. We sat at the bar, which was pleasant. This is a real gem in the Caribbean!
Fantastic Sushi Chef , awesome quality , we will be back !
To be frank the food was fair but not exceptional. There is only one Omakase selection on the menu and it requires a minimum service for two, without waiver. That was not only odd, but off putting. A Chef’s selection (“Omakase”) can certainly be accomplished just as easily for one as it can be for two. My high hopes for this restaurant and experience were unfortunately not met.
First Night in Aruba. Outstanding food and service. Drink some sake and take the recommendations from the staff, you’ll be surprised by those recommendations and most likely would not have been your first choice in roll. Try the green tea creme brûlée for something different.
We were very happy with Omakase and had an excellent meal. The sushi was fantastic and very fresh. Our appetizers were good also, although a little different than expected. The crab salad appetizer was describes as having lump crabmeat, but it seemed to only have fake crab (sea legs), although it was still tasty. Atmosphere is nice and the service was very good, both Mylene the sushi chef and Jason our waiter were friendly and fun. We think we were mis-guided at the end of the night about what the service charge represented and believe we ultimately over-tipped, which left a slightly sour taste for us. That said we would definitely go back (a little wiser) and recommend this restaurant.
My family and I enjoyed the food and Jason's amazing service. Jason has a great sense of humor. The only thing that really bothered me and that has nothing to do with Omakase, please don't take it the wrong way. Is that we couldn't enjoy the pianist because the table ( Chophouse guest)close to the door was very loud. Talking loud just being disrespectful and loud and I hated that. Other than that the Omakase staff was great.
Jason our server was fantastic
Best sushi in Aruba. Their fish is super fresh. Not cheap, but totally worth it!
Jason and Karem were incredible made it such a great experience the food was incredible highly recommend!
