Go down the street to 801!!
We left Omaha Prime without even being greeted at a table. We showed up for our reservation slightly early and said we would be ok to wait at the bar. We were seated at the bar, with no bartender, or even a sever to get us a drink. After 15 min of being ignored, I went to the host stand and it there was no one there to address anything. Several employees passed us and no one acknowledged us. It’s a Monday night, not even a busy weekend.
We left and went to 801 Chophouse down the street (less than a 3 min walk) and had spectacular service and food, spent over $300 and was happy to do so. Don’t ever waste your time at Omaha Prime
Food was good. The hostess was unfriendly and unwilling to help us when we asked for it.
Best steak ever.
Night out. Return visit
The food was good only to be outdone by the excellent service. The wine list was weak but ask for the reserve list which was good with fair pricing
The steaks were good and the wine list was extensive
Food was very good, the dining room was also very nice. Wish there were tables for just two people who are on a date, but overall a good experience. Menus have items that are not shown and price is unknown unless asked.
There isn’t much good to say about our experience. Thought it would be nice because the restaurant has been in old market area fir years. What a disappointment.
When we first walked in, a group of 2 couple were ahead of us to be seated. Both of the men in that group were wearing pullover sweatshirts and baseball hats. My wife and I were shocked by the lack of a dress code since we had heard and seen online that this was a high end restaurant.
However, that was only the tip of the iceberg. At many tables, there were men in baseball hats and/or t-shirts. At the table next to us, the guy was so loud while eating his food, it became gross to listen to. This is all within the first 3-5 minutes being there. My wife grabbed her phone to see if any other place close by was available. Unfortunately, there were not any.
Our steaks were over cooked and the wine was average to slightly above average. We were left wondering how could they charge the prices that they do when the look of crowd may me feel like I was at a ballgame. I even joked that probably have bleachers in another section.
We were extremely disappointed in the entire experience and will not go back. As I told my wife, “We’ve been here, done that, and I could have worn a t-shirt.”
I had a special occasion to celebrate. Mo helped me plan the perfect nite including having fresh flowers on the table for our arrival with a card personalized for my special guest. The food was amazing and we created a lifelong memory with Mo's help!
I’m very picky about my steak, it was medium rare, not rare. Waiter annoyed with our presence, extremely noticeable. No dessert offers. No proper clearing off table. Just rushed and left alone. Not real enjoyable. Next time I pay $300 for meal I would hope to be treated like I’m paying $300 for it.
Server was attentive.
We came to celebrate a birthday, I had written that in my “special notes” box when I made my reservation. But there was no acknowledgment of that.... so then why ask for special notes???
We were put in a corner where the server puts in the orders.... but plenty of spaces were open in the restaurant ??
The filet we had was good but NOT fantastic! For the money, I was disappointed!
I have had better steaks at Firebirds!
We felt very safe and comfortable in the restaurant. Steak was excellent (8 oz. filet) and perfectly cooked. The waffle fries are fantastic.
Well it was our anniversary. And we have been here many times before. The waitress asked is this a special occasion. I said yes it our anniversary. She said it was her birthday. And there was a birthday at the next table as well. She brung us 2 deserts wich we thought was complimentary. We ate it and saw the bill for 20.00 for 2 deserts afterwards. Kinda disappointed. This won't stop us from coming back. Cause it is the best place in omaha for a steak.
This is one of the truly best restaurant in Omaha. It is a mom and pop shop that my wife and I like to visit. The food was excellent the service was excellent and the ambience was very good.
Food and staff great. Will be visiting again in the future.
Great and fast service. Everything we ordered was delicious!
It was absolutely fabulous! Great experience for first timer. Will definitely return, Mary was an amazing server and very attentive!
Closer to the end of our meal, the noise level changed due to another patron sitting in our area becoming obnoxious at his own table. Nothing the restaurant could control :)
Mentioned only because I rated the noise level.
I love everything about Omaha Prime. Delicious food, great drinks, attentive staff and the owner Mo truly cares about your dining experience. Very happy to bring my husband here to celebrate Valentines
Solid steakhouse in good Omaha city location. Interior decor appears dated. Superior service team and quality food presentation. A very strong steakhouse for any occasion.
Server was great, Atmosphere was great. Great wine selection.
The place was very neat. Our server was very kind and attentive. Our filets were outstanding!! We will definitely be going back.
The food was excellent however We had a rough experience with the service. With that being said, we were there on NYE and it was a busier than usual especially considering we are living in the time of covid. The manager called me directly to make things right for us and to explain what had happened. I very much appreciated him taking the time to call me and make things right. Will give it another chance. We have dined there in the past and have never had problems with service before.
Very good food, very poor service!
Great food and great service. Perfect for date night
Very good atmosphere and service was excellent. Food was delicious.
Went here several years ago and wasn’t all that impressed
Due to the snow not many places weren’t open but Prime was. We decided to try again and we were lucky we did. We were only ones in restaurant and were treated great. They had several specials which we took advantage of them. I got bone in ribeye and my son bone in KC strip. Both were cooked to our liking and full of flavor. The truffle mashed were amazing as was the baked potato. The old fashions were very tasty as was the grasshopper made with rum chata. The key lime pie to end the night was awesome great graham cracker crust and a light but tart bite. That bone in ribeye should be an everyday menu item. It’s great. All great steakhouses offer it and you are a great steakhouse and knowing you don’t have it daily may have kept me away from trying you again. I was also glad to see you have loosened your dress code. We were turned down more than once in the past. Keep up the great work and we will see you again
Tomahawk steak split for two. Absolutely the best meal in omaha. Wine selection was great. Service was wonderful on the terrace. Worth that special night out for her birthday. A really great meal and nice restaurant. Highly recommend it.
I thought the service and food was outstanding and the “balcony” seating in the passageway made for a really amazing experience. My only complaint would be that they really need to distance a little more until we get on the other side of this pandemic. They seated a couple a few tables away which was perfectly fine. Nice distance between us. But then they seated two people right behind us, and then put another person right beside them. So that filled in the space between us and the distanced couple, and in essence there was this small section of tables that were full. I think they could have spread people out a little. It was Christmas Eve so it wasn’t terribly busy. Still a great experience and had an amazing meal. Again, the service was superb! We will be back!
An Omaha Icon for a reason! Fantastic as always. Great Holiday dinner with friends.
Omaha Prime is amazing establishment. The food incredible, the service: impeccable and attention to detail in every aspect is incredible. I love lamb chops and last nights meal of lamb chops and steak were the best we’ve ever had! Terry, our waiter, was very attentive and delivered amazing service. What was most impressive was when the owner stopped over to thank us for coming and see how our experience was. The leadership at Omaha Prime speaks volumes to how the guests are attended to from when they enter to when they depart. Well done Mo Tajvar! You’ve built an incredible venue where everyone truly feels valued and appreciated. Folks, this is a must go place to dine! Thank you for a wonderful and unforgettable evening.
I eat at steakhouses all over the country and Omaha Prime's food and service are excellent!
Porter house was ok, a little over cooked. Not worth 60 dollars.
it was a nice atmosphere and the service was good.
Took some visitors from out of town and they loved 🥰 everything about it.
Mo and our waiter treated us like we were family. I highly recommend Omaha Prime
We enjoyed a night out with great food, great wine, and a warm and inviting ambiance. There is a reason this restaurant has been an Omaha fixture for more than 25 years.
Just go! What a beautiful New York style steakhouse. The food was exquisite the service excellent and one of the only locally owned steakhouses in this area in Omaha. The exposed brick walls and balcony seating were amazing. Yes it’s pricey but so worth it and we felt great about supporting a 40 year long restauranteaurwho clearly, like others in the hospitality industry, has had struggles during the Covid pandemic. If you’re considering this place against another national chain select Omaha Prime. Extensive wine list with many interesting wines in Hanst our experience. You will not be disappointed.
Very nice place and had been there before. Was SOO looking forward to returning. Ordered a NY strip for my wife and a porterhouse for myself. Sides of asparagus and sweet baked potato. Sides were delicious. Wife’s steak was delicious. My steak was ordered medium rare and came well done. I asked to send it back and was given a complimentary shrimp cocktail while I waited. A new steak was brought out that was not even cooked to rare, smelled and tasted rancid. Also, after I had sent my first steak back, our waiter disappeared and I did not see him again the remainder of the night. I am having a difficult time writing this review because I love this place and the food is typically second to none...... Except last week. For the price paid for dinner, I expect close to perfection and this was far from it.
