Olympia Provisions Southeast Ratings and Reviews
My fiancé loves charcuterie, so when we decided to visit Portland I knew this was the place to go. We loved everything! The charcuterie and cheese boards were delicious, the grilled octopus was surprisingly tender, and the drinks were flavorful and aromatic. We even plan to go back to buy some cured meats to take back home! I would definitely recommend eating here.
Excellent selection of fresh meats. Chef's choice charcuterie was amazing! Pork pistachio pate was delicious. Along with pickled beets, pickled butternut squash and celery. Mixed chicories salad was very good. Cassoulet dinner dish included lamb that was very tender. Roasted chicken thighs, with raddichio, aged balsamic and baked gruyere really made for a tasty plate. Chocolate stout cake was a delicious ending!
The food was fantastic and service was amazing. However, it isn't a family friendly place. I was with my two kids. The restaurant doesn't have a kid's menu or unwilling to make kid-friendly food. I had to order their regular menu without any adult ingredient. Without a kid, this place is a must-go restaurant if you are in Portland. Try their Spanish board.
Absolutely phenomenal meal! We did the New Years menu 6 course degustación, which beautifully balanced a variety of complex flavours and textures. The atmosphere was cozy and funky, and the quality of service was truly out of this world. Overall, the best dining experience we’ve had in Portland!
I was very surprised when I ordered the Halibut for $35.00 and was informed they did not have Halibut, but substituted Black Cod for the same price! Wrong! No one pays $35.oo for Cod! I did not want to bring it up to the waiter and upset my husband on our anniversary! The preparation was nothing special nor were the chicken thighs my husband ordered. No reason to return. A once enjoyable dining spot has been disappointing the past two times we've gone. I'm sorry and sad for this.
Cheese and Meat boards were great! Hoever, we ordered one pasta dish, and it took over an hour to make, and then it still was "almost ready" when I asked, and then I had to cancel it because we were going to be late for our show. Not sure what happened there. Our waitress was nice, but should have at least warned us it would be a while on the pasta, or say they forgot it. Left me feeling unsatisfied and they did not comp us anything.
Pretty good overall experience. Food was delicious, drinks were great. Just had to wait about half an hour beyond our reservation time, and our waitress didn't make an asserted effort to get us started on an appetizer at the bar while we waited despite us voicing a desire to get one and we had to inject the request about 30 minutes into waiting. Still had a great time and will be back for sure.
I have been hearing about Olympia Provisions since moving to Portland two years ago and had a friend arriving from the east coast. The entire experience was very Portland from the craft cocktails to the curing ham hanging from the rafters. The food was the highlight. Everything we had from the ham board to the cheese board were five stars. We will be back.
I took my friend to Olympic Provisions for her birthday. We had a charcuterie board, shrimp & mussel stew and we both had the braised beef short rib which was fall off the bone tender and bordered on decedent. The portion size of the short rib was generous with enough left over for lunch the following day.
Our server was genuine, authentic and knowledgeable so she was able to provide welcomed insight as to ingredients, preparation, etc.
Overall it was an outstanding experience, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to others and I personally can't wait to go back!
A near perfect dinner at the SE Washington location. The only part I didn't care for was the "Fast and Furious" car gang that apparently hangs around for two hours every Sunday. It made parking really tough and they constantly peeled out with their super noisy cars. But this also has nothing to do with the Restaurant and is not their fault. Just a bummer this car gang decides to congregate near the Restaurant. Super trashy group of individuals.
This was my first visit to the restaurant and unfortunately it was not fantastic. My family and I made reservations for my birthday. I am a single mom and never get out and I was very excited to try this place out! The food was phenomenal. The service was horrible. No one smiled or laughed with us. We were treated as if we were in the way or doing something wrong by being there during Happy Hour. It was really strange... There were only 8 of us. Apparently we were sat in the incorrect spot but no one helped us or barely spoke to us. We spent a good deal amount of money and would have spent more if our waiter had come over to see if we wanted any other drinks.
The charcuterie board was the highlight of the meal. We had trouble deciding on main dishes and ended up splitting halibut, grilled octopus, and a salad. They were all just okay, but the charcuterie board was amazing.
Our server was friendly and had great suggestions for wine pairings and was very attentive.
