Loved it. Went for Portland Dining Month. I hadn't really seen the menu. Didn't realize it was basically all shell fish, much of it raw. Great wine list for oysters, ceviche and clams/mussels. Would HIGHLY recommend if you love oysters and shellfish. Excellent selection. No frills. Down to earth. Relaxed environment.
I went for Portland Dining Month and the value was great for the type of food it was! I really enjoyed the oysters.
Had friends in town and just had to bring them here. We have never been disappointed and definitely wasn’t this time. Simon our server is so knowledgeable and such a nice guy he made the experience great. Highly recommend to everyone.
The oysters were, as expected, wonderful. While I prefer my oysters plain, maybe with a squish of lemon and salt, the aguachile was phenomenal. Light, cucumber-y, fresh and delightful. It was tasty and a great compliment to the oyster itself. My 8 year old was sufficiently impressed to eat multiple. :-) Their bucket of shellfish didn't disappoint either. Wine list - and by the glass choices - were good; the beer and cocktail menu was good. Our server made great recommendations for our drinks. Service was friendly and great, if not a bit slow (but the good kind of slow where you have everything you need and they kind of just leave you alone with your date). We will come back.
Went for the Month of March Dining offer. Came away appreciating the waitress help with wine and food selections that capped a wonderful evening. Highly recommend the Olympic Oyster Bar!
Amazing food and even better service. Had an amazing time. Would definitely go again
Food was good but overpriced. Good ambiance. Server was busy and messed up my drink order. I would not come back
Took a friend to dinner. The food was excellent as well as the service. Highly recommendable
Food and staff at this place are first rate. The service is terrific. They do limited things superbly and don't try to be all things to all people.
I've been here twice; The 1st was a rare date night with my partner, the food was great more expensive than I would pay again but the seafood was so fresh and really imaginative. The 2nd was for Portland dining month, it was outstanding. We did some add on and got drinks the total was still a great price for what we got. Everyone that worked there were so kind and friendly hard workers. I honestly might go again for the special this month because I can't stop thinking about how great the experience was.
This was our second time, and it was very good. Very charming and comfortable atmosphere. Great variety and the dressed oyster options were unbelievable. We had a great time!
Our dinner was delicious. The seafood stew was the best I’ve ever had. We will definitely be back.
Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Interesting preparation of oysters and great drinks!
Oysters are delicious with the help of our server Kim . She knows her product well including the wine to pair with the food. Such a delight and fun experience to introduce my date to fine dining without the stuffiness or attitude of great device followed by perfect oysters!
Our first time eating here. The food was amazing. We loved the dressed oysters, the drinks and the atmosphere. Our server Jonna was amazing. She was fun, courteous and real.
Awesome Simon was great
Always a great experience!
The food, preparation and presentation were excellent. Service was pretty good.
Amazing oysters a really thoughtful wine list, amazing olives, bread and goat milk butter.
This restaurant is fantastic. I haven’t had a plate I didn’t think was incredible. Our server had great wine recommendations as well.
Our favorite place for a wide variety of the freshest oysters. We enjoy all the preparations of the oysters as well as the ceviche options. The cocktail menu is also a favorite.
We had a wonderful dinner - oysters, mussels, and clams along with a beautiful bottle of wine.
The seafood was fresh and delicious, and the service was amazing.
Hot tip: they have a happy hour, and on Wednesdays, they have other specials, too!
This has become one of our favorite spots. The food is always fresh. There is always interesting items. The staff knowledgeable and friendly. And the best oysters I’ve ever had anywhere.
The food is delicious!!Had a good Happy Hour selection .
What a fun spot. Super fresh seafood prepared well. Great wine list. Knowledgeable server. Want to go back soon!
Had dinner with 6. We had our waitress pick flights of plates from the menu. It was wave after wave of great flavor and just the right amount. Each flight was delivered with the proper amount of knowledge from the server. We were not conscious or concerned about price, but were pleasantly surprised by a very reasonable bill! Great place, second time around.
Great experience. There is definitely love put into the food. And wine list compliments the food spectacularly.
Such a special night tonight! Olympia Oyster Bar celebrating two years in business of shucking and serving. You will not find a more creative and unique dining experience in regards to oysters. I’m consistently enthralled with the intimate and inclusive ambience in this special place. Chef Maylin and her incredible staff are always so welcoming, kind and sincere the moment you walk through the door. You can see and feel the love and hard work that goes into everything they do. It was so great to celebrate with all of you tonight. Congrats!
A fantastic place. Great service....great food! Best oyster bar in Portland and authentic cebiche
overall is good, food, service, location

The best oyster bar I’ve ever experienced!!! The staff are young, passionate , creative, attentive and knowledgeable. Amazing flavors whether you want raw, unadorned, raw dressed or slightly cooked oysters. Your mouth will be slapped with the flavor stick and you will be so happy that you dined here. Run to this fabulous temple to the oyster !
Loved it ! Low key , yet fresh . The sharing idea is great . And the menu was perfect .
Absolutely fantastic. Very fresh seafood, the entire meal was delicious. Can’t wait to go back!
The choice of raw oysters and the chef prepared oysters were all exceptional. The fried smelt and sardines in a tin with gremolata were also delicious. Lastly do not miss the house smoked goat butter!
Great service and the best oysters we've ever had.
This is the best place for oysters staff is knowledgeable and personable.
Quality product that shines with masterful restraint. The people who work here obviously love their craft and happy to share their knowledge ane we were glad to support their efforts. Sometimes random picks yield the most memorable experiences!
Great food, good service, lively atmosphere. Maybe a bit pricey for the portions served.
The food is innovative and extremely tasty. The staff was helpful in deciding what to order. However, we were told that two of their "family style" plates along with a dozen oysters would be a good amount of food. They couldn't have been more wrong. The beautifully and creatively presented plates of charred squid and ceviche did not disappoint. The quantity of food did disappoint. When you order a $17 plate of food, you expect it to be enough to feel fulfilled. We ordered two of these. Their website says this: "Order family-style and share. Seafood is meant for sharing! Our menu and kitchen are set up to accommodate family-style dining. We politely decline individual coursing." I respectfully disagree that the dishes we were served constituted "family-style". The portions were too small to share! After our meal with a cocktail for each of us, we felt like we just had appetizers, even though the total came to $79. We actually went to another restaurant to have "dinner" right afterwards. My suggestion to the restaurant is this--don't change the food. Change either the price or the quantity. Then you won't insult your patrons into not returning due to the value for the price paid.
