O'Lunney's Times Square Pub Ratings and Reviews
I really liked this place. We went to theatre and I read a review and booked a resie. Very good home cooking. Chicken Pot pie was delish and very generous. Bangers and Mash very good.
Waitress was so nice. Loud happy hour energy. Not annoyingly loud. Clean place. Hot coffee and dessert was yum.

Food ok, very noisy (guess to be expected for an Irish Pub. Try to sit in the back not near the bar. Huge after work crowd came and was encroaching on our dining space. Wait staff did not check to see if we were ok. Had to flag down a different waiter to order dessert and walk to the wait station to request ourcheck.
Started with a friendly and knowledgeable bartender explaining cocktails and making sure we understood what went into what we were ordering. Followed by good food, with outstanding service from Kathryn (I think?) who mixed a great personality with attention to details. Overall great time.
We were seated upstairs and our waiter would not get the mulled cider drink because it was downstairs. The waitress at the next table got it for her table and when we questioned our waiter he said he was too busy. Unacceptable behavior in a service industry
Great food! There were 6 of us in our party. Only "lost" our waiter once, but we didn't feel neglected. Based on previous reviews, we made our reservation for 12P to make a 2P play since we had the feeling that we would constantly be looking for our waiter, but that was not the case. We ordered drinks first, then got around to appetizers, our meals, and dessert and still had tons of extra time. Didn't feel rushed either.
It is too bad that we had to eat upstairs and Sam the new server was sweet, but we had to ask for bread, water and we waited longer for our food than most of the other tables. My husband had the fish and chips and they were prepared well. However, my salmon with lobster ravioli was cold. i probably won't go there again and I've been there numerous times. I will go to Donnelly's on 54 Street.
Went after a Broadway matinee. We were seated immediately and served quickly. Fish and Chips and Reuben were great. Our server was very friendly and really good. Seemed a little too rushed, maybe because of expected dinner crowd, but we stayed as long as we wanted so no worries.
I am not one to go out of my way to leave a bad review but we didn't have a good dining experience here. The location and atmosphere are nice but that is about it. Our waitress was not very attentive, multiple times my drink was empty along with my sisters, we never received extra napkins ( I had Buffalo wings.) we ordered nachos for the appetizer, I know it's nyc but the nachos were almost 15$ and barely came with any chili on them, it basically was a bunch of chips with cheese sauce and a side of salsa. My sister ordered a salad for her main course which she said was delicious but that too was also very small. My wings were dried out and had not a lot of sauce on them and the fries were very soggy. When making the reservation I saw that one person wrote, if you're not a local or visit frequently you won't be treated like family there, which is their motto, that person was correct. We had a reservation but it was a slowish night and there were plenty of tables.. we were placed in a corner near the door with a draft blowing on me all through dinner. Walked out feeling annoyed for how much I spent and how little bit of food we got, we could have went to Carmines and spent just as much and got a crazy amount more food. We won't be going back.
We have been to many pubs in the Times Square/Theater District and we didn't even know this place existed ! We found it on OpenTable, made our reservation, went in and we were just amazed !!! Greeted by friendly people that apologized for a little wait. Our server (Peter) was fantastic !! Quick, friendly and attentive !! Then we met one of the managers (Norman). He was great to speak with - again, happy, attentive, friendly, and earnest !! THEN ... We met the owner (Hugh) !!! What a charming man ! I wish he was my Pap. We could have talked to him all night ! He talked to us and treated us like we were his family. As if we were the only guests in his bustling establishment. I'd like to call him once a week just to see what's going on and to get some of his awesome Irish wisdom !!
If people like that aren't enough to convince you to visit this pub... The food was phenomenal ! Fresh, quick to arrive, delicious to taste, plenty of portion to fill you up and priced better then many of the ho-hum pubs in the area !
Now, I'm hoping that you all don't believe me. That way there will be space for us when we return and enjoy another great evening at O'Lunney's in NYC !!!
