Olivos Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
Went here for the first time on Valentines Day so I imagine the place was more busy than usual.
The waiter still did a good and professional job without making us feel rushed.
Great food and drinks.
I had not expected this restaurant to be this nice being in a strip mall but much more upscale than expected.
Not worth the value, a lot better places to eat in Miami for the money we spent there. Don't get me wrong, the ambiance was nice, the decor was very modern and our waiter was very, very good. The Sea bass was very plain and not that good, ( not worth the $55/ plate ), the octopus appetizer was a great show but no substance. But thank God, the chocolate sphere dessert saved the night! I don't know if I'll give them another chance.
Brunch was good, it had a good variety. Only issue was I constantly had to wait on re-filling of hot dishes. My only suggestion is to offer Bottomless Mimosas for an extra charge, ordered a glass of prosecco , not listed on your wine list and was surprised on the $12 charge since it was the same you use in a Mimosa, kind of disappointed, over priced. Other than that, they had a private party in the next room with live music which it was TOO LOUD for a small restaurant, it was kind of annoying, made the brunch less enjoyable. Food was good.
went there with my wife after hearing good reports about it.. We have a 6:30p reservation on a Thursday night. Place was empty when we arrived, but crowded when we left about 1.5 hrs later. Good food, I had fish and wife had strip steak. Food was served hot and was excellently prepared. Definitely an older (40+) crowd. Would go back nwhen I'm in the area again.
Service was great. Very stylish decor. We opted to eat outside due to the warm Florida weather and had a fantastic evening. I had the duck and it was cooked perfectly with a very nice presentation. My wife had the stuffed chicken and she is normally a very picky eater but this night she struggled to narrow down her choice because of the variety of options
Visited Olivos for Sunday brunch based on online recommendations. What a find! Everything was wonderful, from the food to the service and atmosphere. Not your typical brunch, it emphasized quality over quantity. Everything was deliciously fresh, well seasoned and presented beautifully. The crepes, hand made and topped with sugar caramelized on the spot were delicious. The soup was a flavorful delight. And the deserts! Nothing we tasted was less that fantastic. Our server was attentive and friendly, as were all of the multitude of staff members available to assist. Will definitely return on our next visit to Miami.
The restaurant is great, great food, very good service, however, there is one thing that I would like to point out:
No space, all the tables are practically one on top of the other, I think they could use more space, to spread the tables out.
For the price, they should be able to afford more privacy to the patrons.
This restaurant is not your average tavern, or Pub, it is a classy Restaurant, that should have more space in between the tables.
It is the only thing I would like to point out to the Restaurateur.
Me and my husband have been to Olivos multiple times. We like the food ambiance service and just about everything, only that very often they change the menu and prices keep getting higher and higher and we are not sure why because they don't even have live music and nothing else seems different. This last time the restaurant was noticeably empty and I wondered why?
My husband said he's not going back
My family and I visited during the Easter brunch. I enjoyed the large variety of food. Everything was delicious. There was a nice mix of cold and hot food, as well as food my kid's recognized and new foods. My only negative comment would be that my 12 year old, who eats like a bird, was charged the full $45 adult charge.
Olivos is OUTSTANDING! Every time we go there the service is excellent and waiters are very friendly. Even during their busy times, we have always experienced adequate wait time and great service. The food? Is absolutely Awesome!! A little pricey, so if you are visiting them please do go when your budget is limited. Don't miss out on their Watermelon Basil Martini.. it is soooo delicious, you will have several! OLIVOS is the BEST!
Food was good, but not exceptional. Given the rave reviews, I found it overpriced and the service was just adequate. Was surprised that the restaurant was really slow for a Friday night during prime time. Honestly, there just wasn't anything special about it for a $55 plate of sea bass with pesto flavored risotto. For that cost I really expect something a bit more special in the meal or at least exceptional service. Portions were also on the small side. Dessert of traditional crepes was mediocre at best. I've eaten a lot of expensive meals and been happy to pay high prices for wonderful food and service. This just wasn't worth it.
It was my first time going to this restaurant and I was shocked by the fix menu they offered on Valentines Day. The restaurant failed to tell me there was going to be an special menu for the day, with no option from their original menu. I understand it is the norm for this type of special occasion to have only certain plates available due to the demand; however, what I don't agree with is that the owners/ administration of the restaurant took fully advantage of theirs costumer by charging Miami Beach prices or more. In my opinion it is unacceptable that they forced you to pay out $60 for a sea bass in the Doral Area. I am not going back ever.
