OLiVES - Bellagio Ratings and Reviews
Made reservations well in advance yet they sat us in the.middle of a loud bar for thanksgiving. My first course; pasta; was served cold and I asked them to make sure my entree was hot. It wasn’t. They replaced it and comped the pasta and dessert (which I didn’t order at that point). Just so disappointed as our meal the year before was delightful.
Olives is one of our “must do” restaurants each time we come to Las Vegas. The grilled calamari and octopus was outstanding. But the favorite above all is the beef carpaccio. It is my fave of all time!! We were able to sit on the patio and had the water fountain show entertain us. The kids (teens) loved it- and the pizza. We went after watching “O” and this was the crown to a fabulous day!!
Have enjoyed eating at Olives for a few years. But this will be our last time. My husband and I made reservations a week prior, requesting an outside table and sharing that we are celebrating his 50th Birthday. There was no mention of his birthday and we did not get a table outside, but rather a table that was awful. So, if you want to celebrate anything special in Las Vegas, do not eat at Olives.
We had previously visit Olives on our prior trip to Las Vegas.
This and the prior tie we were attended by a great and excellent person : Sabine. She was all smiles and always very sensitive to make sure we were OK.
She was able to make us forget the terrible experience we had at the front desk when we arrived earlier. The young lady believed she was the owner and we did not deserve to be seated prior to our reservation time. However, she did allow two groups to do so, which by the way: DID not have reservations.
Luckily, a more senior attendant to care of the desk and I approached her and she immediately directed us to a empty table. By the way, there were several tables empty during our dinning at the Olives, so there was no excuse for the young woman which first received us at the front desk.
Requested outdoor dining when the reservation was made but when we arrived a table wasn’t available. Was disappointed because the reservation had been made for a group who had not dined there before. The food was good, especially scallops. Would have chosen a less expensive restaurant if I’d known we couldn’t dine outdoors in view of the fountains.
Disappointing, after being seated and requesting a table in the shade We were denied, however, another table asked and they were moved. I was sat in the sun, very cramped with wait staff, bumping into me as they walked by when there was another pathway they could have used. As always the food was excellent, and looking around others, the view was lovely as well. Definitely would be more assertive next time.
Bad service, but food was good. Came here to enjoy the Bellagio fountain show while dining. Been here before and really enjoyed my experience. But my recent lunch was disappointing because of the awful service and water show had tech difficulties. Wouldn’t return again.
Olives is a lovely restaurant. Wanted to sit outside but they don't guarantee outdoor seating, so when we arrived, the hostess said she could sit us by the window. Well by the window meant 5 tables into the restaurant with a sort of view of windows and fountain show at Bellagio. Food was just okay but very expensive. The carpaccio was too busy. Carpaccio is raw beef and the accompaniements overwhelmed the beef. My Osso Bucco, veal shank, was ok, could have been more tender and the veggies were so undercooked I couldn't cut them with a knife. My husband's dry aged rib eye was too thin. Disappointing expensive meal.
We've always had a great experience at Olives, but on this Thursday night the service was sub-par. We were seated at a table for 2 on the patio for an early dinner. Our waiter was attentive at first as we enjoyed a cocktail. After our meal was served he checked in & we asked for wine list. He brought menus but never returned to take our order - although he walked by our table ina rush many, many times with absolutely no acknowledgment that we were there. He finally checked back with us after our table had been cleared. Nothing like a nice meal with tap water to wash it down! We especially wanted to dine at Olives since we hear they are closing, so it will not be the best last memory of Olives, but we'll miss the Cable Cars.
