On a positive note, the service was excellent. Wait staff was very attentive.
Unfortunately, I was disappointed in half the food. The scallops were under-seasoned and only seated properly on one side. The cornmeal crust on the soft shelled crab was thick, and overpowered the taste of the crab. It was also very dry. On the other hand, the duck was outstanding, as were the “eggs” on the small bites menu.
I was most disappointed that when I mentioned the issue with the scallops, nothing was offered in compensation.
We had a delicious 3 course meal at Oliver's. The shared cheese plate to start was very good, our entree's were cooked to perfection ( Flank Steak & Duck Breast) and our server was attentive , even though the restaurant was busy with 2 large parties . We topped off our meal with a shared Pavlova dessert which was very good too. The wine list and cocktails available were quite complete and we both enjoyed our selections. On a return trip to Buffalo, we would eminently dine at Oliver's again. The prices are high, but this is a first class restaurant, and worth it.
Service and food was absolutely amazing. They had a valet service but we did not use it so we had to park on the street and walk a little. Only issue was that they don’t take Discover Credit Cards which caused a bit of stress but the staff was very considerate.

Not as good as I remember. Back in Buffalo for a monthlong visit and brought 2 friends from DC here. The food was not as good as previous visits to Oliver’s. I think the chef is being too creative with the ingredients. The braised short ribs with kimchi fried rice and pea purée were almost like two separate dishes on one plate. The ribs and purée were excellent but the kimchi fried rice didn’t compliment the meal. The dessert was a little too busy, meringue filled with ice cream, with a delicious lavender macaron, and then lemon curd. The macaron was amazing and I would have loved to have more of those. The rest of the dessert was good too but it didn’t really come together as one dish. The decadence of egg was delightful and better than I expected! Overall it was a good meal but just didn’t live up to my expectations from my previous visits.
Went after 10 PM on a Saturday. very noisy bar crowd. Jazz band was incredible as expected. Foddering and service were excellent. Just wish it had a lower human volume to enjoy conversation and the music.

Our wait staff was excellent and courteous. The food was excellent. I wish it was a bit quieter in there though. The Kentucky derby was on and there was some loud people in the bar area.
Oliver's is ideal for everything. When I forgot my reading glasses, I was offered a pair by my server. Now that's class!

Beautiful place service was great the only complaint was my wife’s steak was undercooked to her likeing. She ordered it well done and received it at a medium.
My husband and I came here for our Easter dinner. We were not disappointed. The service was great. Our waiter, and the back busser were friendly and knew a lot about the menu. The ambiance was quiet with great Sintara music in the background. I would come back here any time!
My wife’s leftovers were boxed up and in the bag, mine were not. Did not realize until we were home. Food was excellent.

Perfect place for an upscale meal or special occasion. Our meals and appetizers were perfectly prepared. Started out with their spinach bread and oysters Rockefeller. Both were delicious. Next came the decadence of egg, which is egg yolk custard, crispy pancetta truffle and hot potato foam served in a egg shell with the top 1/2 inch or so removed. This is a delicious and remarkable little appetizer. My wife had a fillet that was cooked exactly as she ordered it. Lately when ordering fillets at other restaurants medium rare is either raw or way overdone. I had a lobster tail which had neatly been removed from its shell. This made it quite easy to eat the perfectly cooked tail. Our waiter, Fred, was a delight. Polite and attentive but not intrusive. Always available when needed but never interrupting our conversations.

Perfect for after the BPO. Even though the concert ran late, they were very accommodating. Louie served up perfect cocktails. The wedge salad was excellent. The pasta bolognese and rib eye were wonderful (and served as dinner the next night also. Thank you to everyone.

Oliver’s remains, without exception, one of THE premier dining destinations in Buffalo. Our waiter, Carl, and his accompanying servers, made us feel like we were dining at the Royal Palace. It’s the absolute pristine balance of upscale casual with the service akin to our service when staying at a Ritz Carlton resort. I would not only recommend, but insist that my friends and colleagues dine at Oliver’s with regularity. The new Spring 2019 menu is divine. The egg on the small bites menu is truly sublime. So are the wagyu “corn dogs” and pastrami smoked tomato with mascarpone cheese. For dessert, we had the choco taco and pavlova. I enjoyed pavlova often as a child and it brought back fond memories.
We cannot wait to be back. Thank you to Dave Schutte and his entire staff for glorious impromptu Friday night dining experience. Don’t wait for a special occasion. Dining at Oliver’s IS a special occasion. Thanks again.
Everyone had a delicious meal. The staff was friendly and didn’t rush us to leave when we wanted to stay and talk. There were five in our group.
Excellent wedge salad, which they graciously chopped upon request. Pasta bolognese was excellent (and I’m very fussy). Wonderful ambience for after theatre dinner.

Seriously we love this place.
We’ve been Oliver customers for years but it had been awhile. Karen’s Birthday prompted us to return to the site of our first date some 29 years ago. The food was exquisite as was the service. The overall ambiance of gracious hospitality made us resolve to return soon. A wonderful evening.
Everything was sensational from the service to the food. Everything was well worth the price. I had never been before but I would definitely go back.

You might find different in Buffalo, but not better.
Olivers is fine dining without the pretentiousness you might find in a similar quality establishment in other cities. The food was well prepared, the wine list extensive, and the waiter a pleasure. With that said it's definitely on the high end for the cost of a night out in Buffalo, even for a nice establishment. If you are on a budget, save Oliver's for a special occasion.
All food & beverages were perfect. Our table enjoyed scallops, rib-eye and pasta bolognese. A top notch experience, will go again for another celebration event
