We really enjoyed the food. Service was excellent. The only draw back was that we were seated at a table next to the bar and people were standing right next to our table. It was our anniversary and I would of preferred more secluded seating.
Wonderful evening. Excellent service and fantastic food.
Excellent food, great ambiance! Nice menu, friendly service , lovely music!
From the moment we arrived my daughter was wished a happy birthday, and again by our server Carl- which made her 26 th more special . Thank you Oliver’s!
outstanding experience. impossible to have a better fine dining evening in buffalo. love them!
Everything was great! Perfect place for Valentines Day dinner.
Everything was perfect start to finish. I took my wife here on Valentine's Day. We have had plenty of fine dining experiences in and out of Buffalo, but realized we've never been to Oliver's, despite the fact that I grew up down the street, worked there when I was a freshman in college, and my parents still live down the street. From the second we sat down the service was impeccable. Our waiter Charlie was very personable, attentive, and well versed on the food choices and even their origins. The kitchen was very accommodating to a switch that my wife wanted to make with her entree as well. We had the braised beef piergoes and potato tapas as an appetizer. My wife had the Caesar salad and I had the shrimp poblano pepper bisque prior to our entrees. All were amazing. I had the osso bucco as an entree, which was so tender and delicious it did not even require a knife. My wife had the New York strip steak and loved it. Everything was so delicious that we opted to order dessert which we never do. The banana walnut bread French toast dessert was incredible. Meal service and restaurant were all a 10 out of 10. We will be back for sure.
Favorite place in buffalo
First time dining at Olivers and can't wait to go again. The entrees are pricey but so delicious! Best tasting food I've had so far in Buffalo. We went for Valentine's Day and we ordered 3 appetizers, all amazing. We tried the spinach loaf and enjoyed that too. I don't know who the chef is but he/she nailed it. My filet mignon melted in my mouth. I love this place!!!
My husband and I dined here for the first time this week and we both really liked it. The service was great. Our server Fred was very knowledgeable of the menu and was able to answer all of our questions. We had many, since this was our first visit and the restaurant is more of a fine dining experience. The spinach loaf was delivered first and it was delicious. We had the pierogi as an appetizer and it was to die for. My husband had an Elk Steak that was cooked to perfection and I had the Branzino which was nice and crisp. Both meals were healthy portions, came with sides and were very tasty. The dessert menu was a little extravagant, everything had a lot of ingredients, many of them unknown to us. We got a chocolate custard brulee thinking it would be like creme brulee and it was nothing close to that. It was still pretty good but wouldn't order it again. I would recommend dining here for date night or a special occasion.
Food was excellent as well as the service. Some foods way overpriced.
We had a wonderful dinner at one of Buffalo's outstanding restaurants. Our waiter was attentive and knowledgeable. Pace of dinner was comfortable. Limited wine menu. Food was outstanding as was the presentation.
Haven’t been to Oliver’s in a while but will be back soon... had fabulous cocktails and enjoyed tips from our waiter when choosing a bottle of champagne. Food was outstanding from appetizers to dessert and the live music made the night so enjoyable.
Oliver's great food is matched by attentive service -- every question was answered. We had a great time :)
I will have to say the service and food are top notch. The servers are attentive, but not overbearing. From the moment we walked through the door, we felt well attended to. The food was spectacular. We had the small plate oysters, filet, and scallops. The filet is the best I’ve ever had and the scallops were superlative.
The food was outstanding! My husband and I both had steak (filet and strip steak) so the waiter recommended a caesar salad to accompany them. What a great suggestion! The dressing was lovely, the crouton was whimsically delightful and the anchovy was was on call, if desired. The entrees were cooked to perfection and the sides were so tasty and unique. Added bonus: the bottle of wine was half price on Sunday and the pinot wine we chose was delightful and not super costly. We had a memorable and wonderful experience.
The valet was very friendly, but then we were greeted at the door by a rude coat lady and pushed aside at the bar by one of the greeters trying to add an extra chair for a regular. Our waiter was very friendly and outgoing, but he couldn't make up for the overpriced cocktails and menu. In addition, it was far too noisy during dinner. We will not be coming back to Oliver's anytime soon, if ever.
Great food, wonderful atmosphere and fantastic service from Fred. Hope to return very soon.
love to go there more often, as a favorite spot, however the price point is a bit excessive. thats not your problem its mine
Oliver’s never disappoints. From Nico’s knowledgeable and well spoken service, to Chef Ross’ delectable entrees, as well as Pastry Chef Palmiero’s delicious desserts, we once again had a top notch experience! We are from the south towns and usually stay close to home when it comes to dining, but we both agree that when we want to be pampered both by service and talented chefs Oliver’s is our number one choice.
Service was wonderful and food was excellent.
The menu is so interesting and the presentation exquisite. Everyone in our party enjoyed their meal; it was so good no brought home a doggie bag!
The food was absolutely amazing, as usual. The service was impeccable. It’s been way too long since we’ve been here, we’ll make sure it’s not as long this time.
valet parking very convenient and the woman who did such was very nice and professional.
Oliver's has remained the "Gold Standard" of Buffalo dining. Dave Schutte and Ross Warhol have maintained the high standard and have taken it to new heights. Buffalo has many talented chefs but very few execute the dining experience at this level.
Skilled management and staff. Our waiter took the time to explain the nuances of the menu and related history of Oliver's to the customer. Makes dining much more pleasant. Valet was wonderful too. This is a Buffalo icon!
Oliver’s continues to be Buffalo’s finest high end dining spot. The service is always top notch. Every thing we had from the egg appetizer to the lamb was cooked to perfection.
Outstanding service and food. Pierogi Appetizer was fantastic. Prime Rib special was tender and flavorful. Our three year old granddaughter loved her Buttered Noodles with Cheese. Her one year brother enjoyed chicken tenders. Beautiful Christmas Day diner experience !!!
Christmas is always a busy day, but the staff was exceptionally accommodating even to valet assistance to enter the restaurant through icy conditions.
The food at Oliver's is incredible. But our night was ruined by very poor service. The service at our table was very slow and the waiter was very surly. However, the next table over got incredible service from the same waiter, who appeared to know the party at that table. An example of the poor service, we waited close to an hour before they would take a food order. Everyone was hungry at our table so we ordered some spinach bread. The bread came out, the waiter glared at us, and then gave the bread to the other table that he appeared to know, which recently had been seated. This experience will certainly make us think twice before choosing Oliver's again.
The food was excellent. The waiter was well informed on The dishes and the wine. Great service and ambiance.
From the minute we pulled up to the Valet the service was excellent. Our bartender Lou was so attentive and entertaining. The restaurant was beautifully decorated for the Holidays. Our server was top shelf and the meal was one of the finest I've had in a long time. Can't wait to return..
Our waiter was very knowledgeable about lactose free options and was very attentive. Loved the cookies on the way out of the restaurant.
We had the Elk and the Halibut which were both excellent. The real treat for the evening was their white chocolate dessert which was amazing! Love the atmosphere here.
Any time at Olivers is a special event! A true dining experience
Excellent experience that pleases my parents and my siblings.
Fantastic Thanksgiving dinner. We loved it!
Left to our own devices by daughters with out-of-town plans, we opted to invite my mother-in-law to join us for dinner at Oliver's. A lovely lady is "Gramma", 81 years young, and someone who has provided many a delicious holiday feast for us over the years. She's delightful company, and appreciates good food and good service. Happily, we enjoyed both at Oliver's on Nov 23.
Gramma is a tad hearing-impaired, and I had I asked for a nice quiet spot in my OpenTable reservation notes. They delivered: the maitre d' whisking us to a spot around the corner from the bar that was a pocket of relative quiet on a busy night.
An alert, friendly server appeared, who quickly took our cocktails orders - and delivered them in just a few minutes. They were excellent (Bombay Sapphire martini, Aperol Spritz and a nice NZ Sauv Blanc).
The wife's squash soup was very flavorful, but arrived a tad lukewarm. We all sampled, and agreed the flavor was outstanding. I shared my mixed green salad (ranch) with Gramma, who enjoyed it as much as I. VERY fresh ingredients, chilled just right. My prime filet was rare as requested and marvelous: tender, deliciously moist, and almost - almost - worth the significant price. Wife opted for wild mushroom lasagna with brie (loved it). Gramma went for seared salmon. Although not a big eater, she cleaned her plate with gusto, murmuring praise between bites.
Wine list was more than adequate. We stuck with by-the-glass options (Gramma had her Sauv Blanc, while my wife and I enjoyed a nicely-balanced Malbec). Always fun when the wine complements the food!
Dessert was a somewhat pedestrian peanut-butter pie, accompanied by decent decaf.
Service could have been just a bit more attentive, but we realized showing up at 6:30 on Thanksgiving hit them right in the busiest part of the night. Not a huge quibble.
Overall, Oliver's delivered nicely. We'll be back for sure.
Excellent service and food as always ! So nice to see Dave Schutte stopping by at individual tables and talking with the customers, nice touch !
Wow! What an incredible place. The best food in Buffalo, amazing live jazz/classical music, and great service! I wasn’t the only to say “This is the best meal I’ve ever had” at the table. Truly special.
