Oliver & Bonacini Cafe Grill, Blue Mountain Ratings and Reviews
Our first time to Blue Mountain and O&B in this area. Had been to a few of their restaurants in the Toronto area and had a good experience. Had the Fallicious menu and was pleasantly surprised! Meal was excellent as was the wine recommendation and the service.
Requested a window seat and they were able to accommodate. It was a great 'date night' spot. We will be back!
Less than impressed. The service was just ok. With $100 per person tab at our table, I don't think anyone was overly thrilled with their meal or the service.
We had steak, short ribs, fish...personally I can BBQ a better steak at home and get a better cut from my local butcher.
We were given a booth right by the kitchen. It was very noisy and the staff were constantly passing by our table. We have had drinks on the patio in the past and it was excellent. This time was very disappointing. We live in Collingwood and had invited friends to visit. Not a great experience.
A long wait before taking our order. The service was slow. The dishes did not make sense. The mushroom soup lacked flavour. The grilled calamari and trout dishes were saturated in butter. The trout was served with a salad without dressing. The dishes were too expensive for what was received. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.
My family have been coming to Blue Mountain for the last 7 years for Thanksgiving weekend and O & B are always on our lists of "to do's". This experience was not great. We alway have the mushroom soup (which is always great). Potstickers were ok as they were covered in vinegar. BBQ chicken tacos were covered in BBQ sauce and that's all you could taste. My lamb ($44) was average at best. 2 small pieces and just a ton of lentils. My wife had the miso trout... with zero miso flavour... and so on. It was my wife's birthday and we didn't bother with dessert. We couldn't believe how bad this experience was. Maybe a bad day, but I know we will never drop $250 plus there ever again.
Pizza was amazing for dinner
Servers were amazing
Breakfast was a disappointment
Our bill was $70
Not a lot of choice at buffet
Should have been at least some pancakes, waffles, French toast or an omelet station for that price.
Over all very nice :)
Thank you to all the staff! The flowers on our table and the 50th Anniversary card signed by you all made our celebratory evening all that extra special!! It truly is the small things!
We were all impressed by the service and the food.
We will be back!!
It was a little too warm inside. But what can you expect during a heat wave.
We've been coming here since we bought a place in Blue. Service is always great. Good food. However we were shocked to see food prices had gone up anywhere from 25-50%. I understand it has to do with minimum wage going up but your already one of the most expensive places in the entire area and now you've out priced yourself. You need to rethink this!!!!
Service was excellent. The food is great and presentation is interesting. Mushroom soup is amazing as well as the macaroni and cheese. If you have macaroni and cheese, it is very rich, so make sure and share or be prepared to bring the leftovers home. They will happily package it up for you. Highly recommend it.
We dine at this restaurant for many years, this time we were quite disappointed. The shrimps in the pasta were small, and overcooked (It used to be large shrimps in the pasta). The chicken supreme was cooked with too much oil. However, the service is still very good.
Food quality was poor for the price. Expensive menu items and pizza was soggy. When mentioned to server, absolutely no effort made to offer anything in return or remake.
They're lucky they're situated in the hotel otherwise people would choose other options.
My wife and I really enjoyed our breakfast! Generous portions, quality ingredients and good prices. Possibly the best Eggs Benedict in the area and the yogurt/granola ratio in 'The Mountain Climber's is perfect! I will always make sure to frequent the O&B Café when I visit Collingwood :)
Service started off great. Offered samples of the juices to the table before committing to one, checking the ingredients of the gluten free options... and then it went downhill from there. Ordered a Salad with a rare Flat Iron Steak as a side. Instead I received the order of Steak Frites with a Fried Egg (which I noted that I was allergic to) on top, and a side of salad. Sent that back and was told by our server it was a miscommunication in the kitchen. Cool. The dish comes back by a busboy almost immediately and it's the same (small side) salad that came back with the same steak (egg removed - but there's still cross contamination). Fine, understanding repurposing the food though it shouldn't have been. Sliced open the steak to find my 'rare' steak was one that was well done. Told the server that the steak was not remotely close to rare. He looked at it and said thats a great medium - which is still not a rare. Had it sent back. This time it came via someone else, and it was almost great. A steak with a bed of plain greens. At least they got the order 50% correct. Asked another server if I could have some dressing with the salad that was supposed to come with watermelon, dressing, and other toppings. Explained that this was the third time my order had come out incorrectly. She took back the salad and the manager served me my final dish and did not apologize for the inconvenience. Because we were there for a special occasion, I did not want to escalate the situation and how displeased I was by the service. When we got the bill, our server only then acknowledge the fiasco and offered a 50% discount on the salad (which was incorrectly priced).
Food was mediocre at best for what they charge. Service was SLOW! After I finished eating it took 20 minutes for our Waiter to come back (no drink refills - nothing at all!!) to even ask if we wanted anything else! It's not that he didn't SEE us, he just was doing other things.....I wouldn't go back.
Absolutely awful. Food was terrible. Staff was horrendous, only the gentleman that sat us and one other man were friendly or helpful. This is not the first time we have had a bad experience there. We thought after a year things might be better but unbelievably they were worse. Server was inattentive, she ordered our apps and meals at the same time so food ended up being cold because we couldn't eat it fast enough, food was left in front of us for 20 minutes before someone finally came to clear it (15 servers walked passed us during that time). Visa gift card wouldn't work so manager told us to ask for cash next time we are given a gift! Ridiculous!
We had an early dinner booked with the kids - even though the restaurant was empty service was slow and inattentive. Unfortunately we had a bartender assigned to serve us and his attention was consumed by the customers at the bar and did little follow up at the table or clearing of dirty dishes. Not typical based on past experience here which has been great.
Our kids were served whole wheat pasta without any prior indication - not mentioned or noted on the kids menu. The staff were quick to replace with regular pasta. Otherwise our meals were mediocre at best less the caesar salad. Our attendant was very good though.
