Oliver & Bonacini Cafe Grill, Blue Mountain Ratings and Reviews
We took our granddaughter to experience finer cuisine. She is six. We had a lovely breakfast and our server was amazing. Best eggs Benedict I’ve had in a long time.
In Collingwood it’s a bistro more than the fine dining but all round excellent. Highly recommended
$5 for the bread basket says it all. It is symbolic of their attitude toward the generally wealthy resort crowd. Food was bad, and prices were crazy. But that's what you get at Blue Mountain Village. I was thinking about my beef rib that was sitting in green slop for days...shouldn't have eaten it...couldn't get it out of my mind. But I was hungry, and it was $35. Look, if you are the Westin, it is convenient. But set very low expectations and expect $75 pp minimum.
Travelled 2.5 hours and
areived early and were ignored as we waited at the bar.Indifferent service, no accommodation for waiting 45 minutes. Almost walked out.
App tastes warmed over; greens over done; desserts that a kid conjured up.
Super disappointed and will avoid O&B properties now. It seems the Blue Mountain location is too swamped with conferences and presents more as acafeteria then a restaurant for a dinner on a ski getaway. Waste of money.
Doubtful to return. Staff not very attentive. “Winterlicuous” menu options on the sad side. Brisket main gave the odour of cat food/spam. Didn’t eat it all, waitress didn’t return for a long time to ensure patrons enjoyed their meal selections. Awkward to wait around and have meal get cold and husband’s meal finished to explain situation to waitress. Waitress offered a horrible gin option for my gin and tonic. She said it was a gin, but more of a liquor. Her recommendations were not helpful, also she never inquired if I enjoyed her recommendation. Should have read more reviews prior to making my reservation. Pizza was great. Sparkling water was as expected.
Food was good and the restaurant was beautiful.
Our server was very nice however service was very slow and we didn't see him much.
In my online reservation I requested something special be done for my husband as it was his Birthday but unfortunately nothing was and this wasn't even mentioned.
The food is terrible. You have to pay for a bread basket. After ordering a second bread basket we realized that the first one we paid for was stale and almost inedible. Probably one of the worst meals I’ve ever had. We spoke to the manager and she was kind and apologetic and took things off the bill. The service was pretty good but the food was awful.
I had booked a reservation for a specific time and was made to wait over 20 minutes to get a table. Servers wouldn't even come to get us when the table was ready instead were busy doing other things. Had to repeatedly go back to remind them that we had reservations. My pasta was a little under cooked and the overall experience was not that great.
We love this restaurant. Always eat here when we're up skiing at Blue. This time no skiing, drove up from T.O. just for the meal...okay, I also had just taken delivery of my new SUV and wanted to have some fun on a bit of a road trip. But the restaurant was the main attraction, 😁.
I went for dinner with a friend and her son to celebrate her birthday. Our server was very friendly and attentive. The cocktails were unique and the menu had a great selection of choices for various tastes. The food was absolutely delicious. They had a great kids menu that still made you feel like you were having a special dinner. I particularly liked the small bite desserts. The portion was just right so that you could have dessert even after a filling meal.
First off I'd like to say that we've always enjoyed O&B food and service in all their restaurants. I've never been disappointed and was looking forward to our dinner here. We had our table booked for Dec 23 for 6 adults and a toddler. It was a cold day, and since we had a pregnant lady and two seniors, we ordered 6 hot waters once we sat down to warm ourselves up. We then ordered a $40 bottle of wine, an app to share, and main courses for all the adults. Everyone enjoyed their food and were quite stuffed, some couldn't even finish their meals and sadly we didn't have space for dessert.
So why the disappointment? Well, we paid our bill and left, but when we got back to our room, we saw that they charged us $23.70 for the 6 cups of hot water. No lemon, no refills, no extras, just basically 6 cups of hot water!!! They marked it as "6 Tea" on the bill. We were speechless. If we knew they would charge $3.95 PER CUP OF HOT WATER we would've ordered something else, maybe a real TEA for each of us!! Although we did enjoy the food, this definitely put a damper on our mood. We felt quite cheated, and we're not sure how they label it as "tea" when it was actually hot water? :( :( Definitely disappointed about this experience and makes us rethink going back to any O&B restaurants again....!
The waiter provided good service, he was attentive to our needs; however the food was below our expectations. I ate the chicken quesadilla and I did not enjoy the taste of it. The chicken was very plain and seemed like it had no flavour, spices, or seasoning. I had to take out the chicken because it was too bland. I would not recommend this restaurant.
