Oliver & Bonacini Cafe Grill, Blue Mountain Ratings and Reviews
The waiter provided good service, he was attentive to our needs; however the food was below our expectations. I ate the chicken quesadilla and I did not enjoy the taste of it. The chicken was very plain and seemed like it had no flavour, spices, or seasoning. I had to take out the chicken because it was too bland. I would not recommend this restaurant.
As a resident of the Blue Mountains, we come here often. Their staff are well trained and their food has been reasonably creative and consistently good. Sadly, however, there has been a change recently. The prices have skyrocketed and the quality of food has deteriorated slightly. They hold special menu nights a few times per year and we especially enjoyed their Ramen night and so we invited 2 other couples to join us this year. The Japanese salad bar is still good but our ramen broth was a watery, tasteless concoction. Maybe it was because of the loud, high pitched screechy voice of the female singer who played that evening instead of the advertised singer, Drew Wright. I am reluctant to complain much more because the meal was only $25 and all the wines were half price. (I am surprised that I can even remember what I ate last night) We still think it is the best restaurant in the Village and will probably be back.
Absolutely a wonderful experience. They called to confirm the reservation. We showed up on time and were seated right away. Food was amazing (had the fish). Service was outstanding, from the moment we were seated, to dropping off food, asking how things were, to picking up dishes. Truly a five star place to eat and I would love to return again. Thank you! Rob
Our first time to Blue Mountain and O&B in this area. Had been to a few of their restaurants in the Toronto area and had a good experience. Had the Fallicious menu and was pleasantly surprised! Meal was excellent as was the wine recommendation and the service.
Requested a window seat and they were able to accommodate. It was a great 'date night' spot. We will be back!
Less than impressed. The service was just ok. With $100 per person tab at our table, I don't think anyone was overly thrilled with their meal or the service.
We had steak, short ribs, fish...personally I can BBQ a better steak at home and get a better cut from my local butcher.
We were given a booth right by the kitchen. It was very noisy and the staff were constantly passing by our table. We have had drinks on the patio in the past and it was excellent. This time was very disappointing. We live in Collingwood and had invited friends to visit. Not a great experience.
A long wait before taking our order. The service was slow. The dishes did not make sense. The mushroom soup lacked flavour. The grilled calamari and trout dishes were saturated in butter. The trout was served with a salad without dressing. The dishes were too expensive for what was received. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.
My family have been coming to Blue Mountain for the last 7 years for Thanksgiving weekend and O & B are always on our lists of "to do's". This experience was not great. We alway have the mushroom soup (which is always great). Potstickers were ok as they were covered in vinegar. BBQ chicken tacos were covered in BBQ sauce and that's all you could taste. My lamb ($44) was average at best. 2 small pieces and just a ton of lentils. My wife had the miso trout... with zero miso flavour... and so on. It was my wife's birthday and we didn't bother with dessert. We couldn't believe how bad this experience was. Maybe a bad day, but I know we will never drop $250 plus there ever again.
Pizza was amazing for dinner
Servers were amazing
Breakfast was a disappointment
Our bill was $70
Not a lot of choice at buffet
Should have been at least some pancakes, waffles, French toast or an omelet station for that price.
Over all very nice :)
Thank you to all the staff! The flowers on our table and the 50th Anniversary card signed by you all made our celebratory evening all that extra special!! It truly is the small things!
We were all impressed by the service and the food.
We will be back!!
It was a little too warm inside. But what can you expect during a heat wave.
We've been coming here since we bought a place in Blue. Service is always great. Good food. However we were shocked to see food prices had gone up anywhere from 25-50%. I understand it has to do with minimum wage going up but your already one of the most expensive places in the entire area and now you've out priced yourself. You need to rethink this!!!!
Service was excellent. The food is great and presentation is interesting. Mushroom soup is amazing as well as the macaroni and cheese. If you have macaroni and cheese, it is very rich, so make sure and share or be prepared to bring the leftovers home. They will happily package it up for you. Highly recommend it.
