About Oliver & Bonacini Cafe Grill, Bayview Village

O&B Bayview Village is the first location of Oliver & Bonacini’s casual dining restaurants. Despite its North Toronto location, this large urban space feels very downtown. A gleaming open kitchen extends into the airy dining room, featuring washed tin ceilings, leather banquettes and dramatic and distinctive light fixtures.

Refined yet casual, O&B Bayview Village’s expansive menu of North American and Italian classics offers something for everyone, including fresh, made-from-scratch soups, salads, sandwiches, pastas and fire-roasted pizzas. The weekend brunch menu showcases a mix of classic Eggs Benedict and Belgian Waffles alongside inventive comfort food like Fried Chicken & French Toast and Breakfast Pizza. O&B Bayview Village also offers a selection of signature cocktails, a well-curated wine list, and a different drink special every day of the week.

Front receptionist not very accommodating. Tables were empty but we still had to wait to be seated. Wait staff was good, but too busy.

Great food and great service. We stayed quite a while to 'catch up' and never felt that we were being hurried out.

Family get together for brunch. I ordered eggs over easy but the white were still runny and I had to send it back. The others were finished their meal by the time I got mine back. A little disappointing.

We booked a table for 2 expecting to have tea for 2 for $15 as the sign outside of the restaurant, but after sitting down we were told hat it was only available on Monday to Friday. Since we have had our lunch already, we ordered a soup of the day which was onion soup for $9 a bowl. The price was reasonable but the quality was disappointing. It was the worst onion soup we ever have had. It had some shreds of cooked onion, pieces of crouton and few small lumps of dried cheddar cheese. The color was merely light brown and the texture was watery. The worst part was the taste. It has no taste as regular onion soup, instead it was a bit sour and a bit of very light beef broth. We could not finish the soup and asked for the check. Before we paid we told the waiter about our feeling to the soup and show him how watery the soup was. He was very polite and said he would not charge us for the soup. Even though we did not need to pay, the experience there on the onion soup was really disappointing!

Good brunch yesterday! Everything went like clockwork, table ready when we arrived, attentive service, food wonderfully delicious. A few had the avocado salad and loved it. I had the waffles and chicken = fantastic! Great experience. Thank you!

With holiday season upon us - I expected the same outstanding service that I would get every day ... unfortunately service was terrible and server was not attentive. Server only gave attention to larger parties of 4 or more. Very disappointing.

I ordered the pasta special for Monday night and the flavour was alright however the portion for dinner was maybe an appetizer size but billed as a dinner choice. There were 5 pasta raviolis in the bowl with a little rapini. I did not find this an appropriate portion especially for dinner.

The pizza was lukewarm, hard, dry and tasteless. The salmon came swimming, actually drowning, in some sort of soupy liquid. The sangria was lots of juice and very little (if any) wine. Very disappointing and very poor value for $75.

The best part about our lunch was our server who was lovely .. the daily soup (purée of vegetables) had no taste and wasn’t hot . The salad was limp (drenched w dressing) and flavourless- it wasn’t a cheap lunch. Won’t return.

Always enjoy the staff and food at O & B. Would love to see portion plates. For example, a main course in two different sizes with appropriate prices.

I always enjoy this restaurant at Bayview Village and have never had a bad meal there. The staff is very friendly and helpful but the kitchen was extremely slow in getting our food to us. Luckily we enjoyed our guests and tried to ignore the wait. Hopefully the tardy kitchen was a one off and we’ll be able to up the star rating when we return.

Absolutely terrible. This restaurant parades itself as a nicer than average establishment. Don’t be fooled. We were there almost 2 hours and only had an entree. We waited 40 minutes to finally give our order and receive water. We only got water because my husband ended up going to the bar and asking for it. Our entrees took another 30 minutes. I ordered the roast dinner. My beef wasn’t cooked correctly (over done) and the frozen broccoli was still icy and saturated with water. It was gross. Sent back. My husband order the cheese burger. They forgot every single topping: cheese, lettuce etc. Sent back. So almost 2 hours for mediocre food. And at that price point I expect way better. Will never return.

Reserved for Sunday lunch take a long-time friend for her birthday and requested a table on the patio (inside) for a quiet table which was accommodated. Our server was Jonathan and he was personable and provided excellent service. We both enjoyed our meals which we chose from the brunch and lunch sections.

I was there for lunch during the weekend The food and service were both good, and the value was reasonable. The main minus was the noise level, but that is expected on a weekend in mall setting.

It was a relaxing dining experience.....our waiter was very attentive....made sure our hot water is always filled up.
We ordered the liver and it was exquisite, generous portion, very tasty.....the pizza was great too, but we were so full after the liver we had to take part of the pizza home.

Food was absolutely excellent. We ordered the salt and pepper calamari to start, then went for the lamb gnocchi and turkey burger (added bacon!). Everything came on time and our server was terrific - can't remember his name but he was one of the gents wearing glasses! Great experience overall, and will absolutely be back for date night in the future.

The food is very good, and our server was nice. Unfortunately it's very loud. We were seated right near the kitchen and could hardly one another. Perhaps it's quieter at dinner, we were there for lunch. I would go back.

One of my favourite restaurants for casual dining. The staff is the restaurants greatest asset ; the food is also very very good.! The service from the kitchen can be slow when it is busy but overall it is still a very pleasant experience.
