About Oliver & Bonacini Cafe Grill, Bayview Village

O&B will be accepting Winterlicious reservations starting at 9am January 11th. Winterlicious runs from Jan. 26th through Feb. 8th 2018. Please note, each booking for Winterlicious will be allocated two(2) hours for your dining experience.

O&B Bayview Village is the first location of Oliver & Bonacini’s casual dining restaurants. Despite its North Toronto location, this large urban space feels very downtown. A gleaming open kitchen extends into the airy dining room, featuring washed tin ceilings, leather banquettes and dramatic and distinctive light fixtures.

Refined yet casual, O&B Bayview Village’s expansive menu of North American and Italian classics offers something for everyone, including fresh, made-from-scratch soups, salads, sandwiches, pastas and fire-roasted pizzas. The weekend brunch menu showcases a mix of classic Eggs Benedict and Belgian Waffles alongside inventive comfort food like Fried Chicken & French Toast and Breakfast Pizza.

Service was absolutely aweful. Waiter did not write orders down and brought meals we did not even order. Then we had to wait for the kitchen to make the correct food. My recommendation to the waitstaff is to WRITE THE ORDER DOWN ON A PIECE OF PAPER. Waiter then acted like it was no big deal. Brutal service...Would not ever go there again. Ruined my mom's birthday brunch.

They should quit hiring high school students as wait staff.

We love it there and go at least twice a month. Always have great food and service. I have to say it is really loud. My only complaint but otherwise great atmostphere and kid friendly.

The food was terrific. We had the pickerel and seared tuna dishes which were prepared to perfection and the wines were good quality and good value. Unfortunately the meal was spoiled by the fact that we had to wait 15 minutes for our table and another 15 minutes before we saw a waiter. The service was very slow and while the waiter was very helpful it was obvious that he had too many guests to serve us attentively. Also the noise level was so loud that we couldn't converse without almost shouting.

I could not recommend this restaurant to a friend in spite of the quality of the meal.

I honestly expected a bit more out of this establishment. The servers were kind and attentive, but, the food was lacking! It seemed very bland and as if not a lot of effort went into it. Perhaps they dont use some of the finer ancillary ingredients that other restaurants do to up the quality of the food? Then again, maybe I just caught them on an off night. I always give an establishment a second chance, so Im sure I'll go back at some point, just not right now.

Good service, with an indifferent and fussy menu (compared to other locations). That said, the food we did have was fairly good, so no complaints there. Incredibly cramped dining (tables packed closely together) with little or no privacy.

I have been to Oliver and Bonacini's for lunch a number of times. I find their menu uninspiring and their food okay and overvalued.

For the price, it is an average restaurant.
We went for Easter Brunch, and I had the breakfast special and my wife had the waffle.
The breakfast was okay but I have had better, and the waffle was very disappointing.

I rather have dinner at O&B, then brunch. It is not worth the money.

Salads are excellent; dairy-free mushroom soup is excellent; service is usually excellent and you are treated with superb customer care.
As for the menu, there are hardly any heart healthy options in the way of fish choices and egg white omelette and hummus spread for bread.

Oliver & Bonacini is usually always pack and wait time can be very long. However, this time trying to reserve a seat (for 16 in advance) paid off really well. The atmosphere was pleasant, we had great seating and the servers were very nice, polite and courteous.
This was a continuation of our baby shower extended into the evening and the experience made it very nice.
Tea selections to be paired with desserts can be improved, but aside from that, everything was wonderful.
The butter tart was indulging and the creme brulee couldn't be any smoother and rich.
The Morrocan Lamb was so tender it melted at the touch!
It was absolutely fantastic!

Our server was horrible. We waited an hour for food and she never even checked on us to offer water or bread until we complained. Food was fair but expensive for what you got.

I was at O & B for brunch with 6 people and the food and service were great. Good selection, interesting take on some staple brunch items and attentive and quick service. Just be prepared that at brunch they do want to turn the tables over so you will be asked to leave shortly after the end of your meal.

Service was attentive, polished, and friendly. Wines by the glass were very good. Main courses were so-so. My pasta w/ shrimp and scallops had just right-prepared seafood, not over cooked, but the sauce and combination were uninteresting. Couldn't there be some vegetables, or something in this recipe to add interest? The 2 pizzas were both burned and tasted burned - although these were very courteously replaced. We don't like to complain, or to have to complain about food in a restaurant, so you should get it right the 1st time!

Sadly we used to frequent this restaurant quite a bit but our last experience left us with a bad taste. The service was lacking and our server didn't even bother to ask if we wanted anything to drink (we had been planning on getting a bottle of wine) My pickerel was undercooked and had many bones still in it and my husbands burger was just mediocre.

This was my second visit for brunch, and I had come back to try the baked salmon crepe but found it was prepared differently from a few months ago. The first time I tried it was cut into 6 rounds and perfectly baked. This time it was one large crepe with too much cheese and the salmon was undercooked. I still enjoyed the experience overall and will return again, but order something else to try!

For most part the food was good, but the basmati rice that came with the grilled calamari was hard and dry. And our waitress never came by, only to take our order and to give us the bill.

I am a regular, and always enjoy dining at o&b. The recent renovation is quite nice, however sound buffering that reduces noise levels is required. It was very difficult for us to hear each other. More non egg selection is required for the brunch menu.

There is a standard of attentiveness and efficiency one anticipates when frequenting an Oliver and Bonacini restaurant and regretfully this location failed on all counts on Friday. Not only was the wait staff inadequate but there appeared to be a complete inability to expedite the simplest of soup and salad orders from the kitchen such that we were eating together. Have you ever been at lunch and found the conversation grinding to a halt as you collectively look over your shoulder to see if your food is ever going to arrive? That was our experience on Friday.

We both ordered a pasta, both were very good and the portion was just the right (for two women). We had a lovely Cabernet Sauvignon @$8.95/glass, a very nice wine.
Service was attentive and timely.
The noise level is high which can be a little distracting.

I had a non-alcoholic drink that was great- something with pomegranate. For dinner, I had the macaroni and cheese. I thought it was good except the chicken seemed stale. I had the vanilla creme brule for dessert and it was great.
Great location for those using subway or driving.

Even after a reservation we where stuck in the middle of the hall where all the waiters were moving form the bar etc. They hit the back of my chair at least a dozen times moving back and forth... I was ready to grab one of them and tell them to learn how to walk! The food was too expensive as well. When I complained to the manager his response was that you got what seating was available regardless of a reservation or not. So it was really not a reservation for us at all. I found that a glib answer. Not impressed my friends ... not impressed.

I had the fish and chips this time and it had a light batter. Awesome! My friend her quiche and salad. Both dishes should be tried.

I ordered the Lobster Mulligawtany and Quinoa Salad combo. There were a few threads of lobster in the soup but overall too little to be labelled a lobster soup. The salad, while attractive had very little flavour. The accompanying pitas had a stale taste- has anyone in the kitchen ever tasted these? I was quite underwhelmed by my lunch as were my friends. For the price, we could have done better elsewhere.
Attentive and friendly wait staff.
