About Oliver & Bonacini Cafe Grill, Bayview Village

O&B Bayview Village is the first location of Oliver & Bonacini’s casual dining restaurants. Despite its North Toronto location, this large urban space feels very downtown. A gleaming open kitchen extends into the airy dining room, featuring washed tin ceilings, leather banquettes and dramatic and distinctive light fixtures.

Refined yet casual, O&B Bayview Village’s expansive menu of North American and Italian classics offers something for everyone, including fresh, made-from-scratch soups, salads, sandwiches, pastas and fire-roasted pizzas. The weekend brunch menu showcases a mix of classic Eggs Benedict and Belgian Waffles alongside inventive comfort food like Fried Chicken & French Toast and Breakfast Pizza. O&B Bayview Village also offers a selection of signature cocktails, a well-curated wine list, and a different drink special every day of the week.

Absolutely terrible. This restaurant parades itself as a nicer than average establishment. Don’t be fooled. We were there almost 2 hours and only had an entree. We waited 40 minutes to finally give our order and receive water. We only got water because my husband ended up going to the bar and asking for it. Our entrees took another 30 minutes. I ordered the roast dinner. My beef wasn’t cooked correctly (over done) and the frozen broccoli was still icy and saturated with water. It was gross. Sent back. My husband order the cheese burger. They forgot every single topping: cheese, lettuce etc. Sent back. So almost 2 hours for mediocre food. And at that price point I expect way better. Will never return.

Reserved for Sunday lunch take a long-time friend for her birthday and requested a table on the patio (inside) for a quiet table which was accommodated. Our server was Jonathan and he was personable and provided excellent service. We both enjoyed our meals which we chose from the brunch and lunch sections.

I was there for lunch during the weekend The food and service were both good, and the value was reasonable. The main minus was the noise level, but that is expected on a weekend in mall setting.

It was a relaxing dining experience.....our waiter was very attentive....made sure our hot water is always filled up.
We ordered the liver and it was exquisite, generous portion, very tasty.....the pizza was great too, but we were so full after the liver we had to take part of the pizza home.

Food was absolutely excellent. We ordered the salt and pepper calamari to start, then went for the lamb gnocchi and turkey burger (added bacon!). Everything came on time and our server was terrific - can't remember his name but he was one of the gents wearing glasses! Great experience overall, and will absolutely be back for date night in the future.

The food is very good, and our server was nice. Unfortunately it's very loud. We were seated right near the kitchen and could hardly one another. Perhaps it's quieter at dinner, we were there for lunch. I would go back.

One of my favourite restaurants for casual dining. The staff is the restaurants greatest asset ; the food is also very very good.! The service from the kitchen can be slow when it is busy but overall it is still a very pleasant experience.

My kids enjoyed their steak and salmon ordered. I enjoyed your soup of the day, caramel pumpkin. Both my husband and I ordered your Saturday night special ribs. We enjoyed the ribs but we find the combination with the corn on a cob a bit awkward to eat and the coleslaw we would prefer some fresh vegetables instead.

Great tasting food and speedy service. The only thing disappointing was that I specified in the reservation that it was for a birthday dinner and there was no acknowledgement of it from anyone.

Most of the time I enjoyed dining in O & B.
The salmon was okey but the sauce was too salty I even poured the water into it to dilate the saltiness, of course it took away the flavour...

The food was well-presented with a varied menu, but I found the dishes lacking in flavour somewhat. Service was prompt, sensitive but not-overbearing. On a Saturday night you would expect a bit of noise and we were accommodated in a quiet corner.

Oliver & Bonacini Cafe Grill, Bayview Village, was a wonderful choice for brunch on the weekend! There was a good variety on the menu. My friend had the pizza and her daughter had the waffles. I ordered the typical poached eggs with smoked salmon. I really enjoyed my dish which was done perfect! I had a piece of my friends pizza, also very tasty. Her daughter's waffles, I am told was very good too! The service was excellent! Our waiter I noticed was very attentive and patient when my friends daughter ordered, talking to her menu, rather than talking to the waiter. Thank you! We didn't order dessert, but rec'd a nice surprise carrot muffin / cake which was very yummy! When I booked the reservation, I had mentioned celebrating a special occasion. I found it loud, but I understand it was busy. I would recommend, more for the mall, is to have some signage at the major intersection. Going north bound on Bayview, I pasted it and ended up at Finch. The condo developments around had hid this gem.

The food was excellent and the the staff were outstanding- so accommodating! It was very special - just as we had hoped it would be- a great experience. I organized this lunch for extended family members who hadn't been together for quite a while and so it was important to me that it went well, and it was perfect.

It was very, very loud - tough, if not impossible, to carry on a conversation during the meal.

We ordered a drink "late in the meal" and it only came after we asked several times where it was and when it finally arrived, we had completed the meal.

We were told the item would be deleted from the bill, but it was not done - a small OJ for $6.00 and we had to ask the server to remove it from the bill.

I had never tried this restaurant from O&B, only Canteen and Bannock, which I like.
The food at the Cafe grill was mediocre. I realized when biting in the burger that I had not been asked for how cooked I wanted the meat. It was slightly overcooked, but I can’t blame them if I didn’t give any preference. What bothered me is that the beef patty didn’t taste much better than a McDonald’s burger. $18 O&B burger vs. $9-10 McDonalds burger, if you include fries.
My friend’s lamb gnocchis didn’t taste great. Since when do you add uncooked onions to pasta sauce? And why serving enough portions for three people in one plate? Big quantity doesn’t scream quality.

Great service though.

Great booking through Open Table....dinner was tasty, service was ok but seemed understaffed for our visit. We left without getting dessert and coffee because the restaurant was so loud we couldn’t hear each other, annoying after a delicious meal.

I really enjoyed food, service, and the ambiance.
I had a bad experience with OB almost two years ago when I invited some friends. The table was not ready and the service was not appropriate.
I am glad to see improvement.

Really nice location in heart of North York. Great staff, very clean, food was superb, service was excellent. Wine selection is really good, a bit over priced. Well worth it for a special occasion. Expect to pay about $45- $55 per person for dinner.

Very noisy, which took away from the good company. I wish this restaurant would consider even a little sound softening (even though that's against the present fad in dining), ie carpet or fabric curtains...anything to take the sharp din down to a dull roar...

O&B Bayview has entirely redeemed the menu taste experience under Chef McLeod; and presentation of the resto 360°. Much improved and world class seasonings.

Compared to my last visit awhile back, the quality of the food and the taste now sans tons of salt were excellent. I will once again highly recommend this restaurant to local and international gourmands.
