Meet a friend from university - we meet here every year. Love it!
Quality of the food is excellent and the outside dining area a major bonus.
I booked this reservation after seeing their advertised prix fixe menu at $40 per person for Thanksgiving dinner. Upon being seated, our server informed us it was no longer available but we could order “a la carte”. I chose this place specifically for the Thanksgiving dinner, so she said she would speak to the manager. A while later, she came back to say, “good news, we can still offer the prix fixe”. I’m sorry, but honoring an advertised deal is expected, so I’m not sure why it was made out to be like we’re getting some kind of special treatment.
The food was extremely disappointing. Most of it tasted like it was prepared in advance and then reheated. The soup tasted fine, but hadn’t been strained properly so there were weird stringy bits in it that made it unpleasant to eat. The turkey breast and mashed potatoes were good but the rest was just terrible. The veggies were dried out and tough, the “stuffing” was some weird compressed, dried out slice of… something. I don’t even know how to explain it. Same with the dark turkey meat, which is normally juicy and flavorful - this appeared to be shaved bits of turkey pressed into a mold, sliced and then baked/heated up so the top of it was dry & crispy. Why would anyone do this to turkey?
This is not at all what one would expect from this restaurant group. When asked how we liked the food, we gave our honest feedback to the server. The manager came by but she was rude and unapologetic about the experience, and was claiming the bits in the soup were celery strings. It doesn’t matter, they shouldn’t be in there.
Service started out ok until we expressed disappointment with the experience, and then she avoided our table until dessert was ready. We just wanted to leave, so we asked for it to be boxed up. She dropped off the takeout bags and walked away. We finally flagged her down to get the bill about 30 minutes later.
There are so many other great restaurants out there - I will not be supporting this one again.
Great food. Very busy for thanksgiving so service was a bit slow, but we didn’t mind. Servers were very friendly and apologized for delay. Coffee was on the house as a result.
I would definitely go back! Okay
The food was good, but service was poor. We waited, what I considered way too long, between the soup and the entree. I understand ALL restaurants are experiencing staff shortages, so this won't make me stop eating there.
This is my favorite spot, but it needs a little freshening up...maybe some paint and recover the booths
Always a great staple.
Steve was a great server. Food was hot, service was reasonably quick but very attentive. Value for the money, decent portions of food given.
O & B Cafe Grill advertised on its website a 3 course prix fixed Thanksgiving Dinner for $ 40 and I made a reservation for 3.
When I got the bill, I was charged "a la carte" for each item for a total of $ 47 per person ! When enquiring about the discrepancy I was told the " prix fixed" price is for take out only ! When I did the reservation the menu I saw was the regular dining one not the take out one.
Nice patio lunch. Note if it rains, you will be moved indoors if possible, otherwise you need to take out.
I would absolutely come back again and definitely will the service is great the food was fabulous
Staff very helpful and co-operative moving us indoors when it became a bit chilly outside
Food was great, service was excellent and overall we enjoyed our meal.
Great place for a business lunch or to meet friends for a casual lunch/brunch where the food is above average quality.
Last minute dinner plans. It was delicious as always.
Wait staff were awesome. Very friendly and accommodating.
Fried calimari and tuna tartare were very good. Past dishes were quite salty, but to her credit our server insisted on taking it back and exchanging for a fresh one that was much better,
Indoors feels very empty and so the ambiance suffers a bit due to table spacing during COVID, but I’m sure this will improve once health measures are lifted and things get back to normal.
I ordered the Bayview Brunch. I found the sausages undercooked, and bad tasting. Overall, though, it was a very safe restaurant during the pandemic, and I felt very safe. We sat on the patio in the sun. For $17 bucks, I have no complaints. If they improve their sausages, the plate would be even stronger.
Staff, food and atmosphere were great and overall its great value.
Great food and service!
Would love a way to reduce the number of visits by wasps.
Birthday servers were amazing so was food
Food and service was excellent
Great service, food was good.
great tasting food as always. great service too. definitely will come back again.
I’m so upset over the experience we had. The host was rude regarding my son. The server cleaned up over top of us as we are trying to leave. I will not be comming back. So rude. Food was unsatisfactory
Family birthday. Good time, nothing remarkable.
I have dined at this location and had a great experience pre-covid. The restaurants appearance was surprising, leather in booths worn out. Food quality and taste was not good.
We had a fabulous dinner and the music play list was also superb!!! Thanks for the great night out!!
With our reservation placed at a table that was unsuitable, but, waitress moved us when requested. Music level too high, and not to our liking. Service was fine, food was great and a suitable quantity. Comfort food, but well done.
Everything was great except , you can’t enjoy a dining experience with wasps and hornets flying around you’d table and landing on your food . I had my 3 year old granddaughter with me and it was not a pleasant experience to keep swatting insects throughout lunch .
The waitress was excellent and the food was great . Suggest you install a trap for the wasps . It’s a shame to have a nice experience ruined .
PS Our family has dined at O& B since you opened
the only issue i have with this location is that it is sometimes noisy as there is nothing on the floors/walls to absorb the sound of other customers and it is often hard to hear others in your own party. The booths are definitely better for sound management however. other than that food is always good and so is the service. Maybe it is time for a renovation in the customer dining area.
I had a lovely lunch with a friend that I had not seen for quite a while. While I was waiting for her I was ale to chat with the staff who were looking after our table.
I selected O and B because I have been there before on more than one occasion ad never been disappointed.
Service was excellent and food was delicious. We had a steak, mozzarella sticks, empinadas, pepperoni pizza, carrots cake and churro donuts. Would highly recommend everything. Fries were some of the best I've ever had.
I guess I must be spoiled now. It was very nice to be out for dinner but honestly..restaurants have to cut back to make money back I guess so the meal was just ok, small (thin very salty turkey burger with fries I didn't have a bun) and husband had pasta once again small size...yes we had a glass of wine..but 130 dollars for the meal. We like this restaurant usually but we just walked away thinking over priced which I don't usually say about this place. Server was very nice.
Good restaurant overall. Was surprised that the opening time was at the same time with the first seating time. We had booked 12pm and they opened right at the same time. We had to stay in the line up for 20 mins to be seated.
Salmon not fresh very fishish tasted
Pizza too much sauce
Good service, would’ve preferred no physical menus and was only told about the virtual menu after. Otherwise, felt safe and clean.
Food was amazing ! Waitress was amazing offering wonderful service . I will come back again.
I don’t want to be too harsh - restaurants are all struggling post COVID- but this was not a great experience. Service was good - kind, polite and efficient, but the food was horrible. Zero flavour, not hot when served, my pizza was sopping wet and dripping. Really unfortunate overall.
I’d recommend spending your money at a small, family owned establishment instead of this large, corporate chain. Help an independent business.
Menu was limited and the food was mediocre. Disappointing as had expected the food to be exceptional.
I enjoyed everything about the experience, however the variety of items on the lunch menu was somewhat limited….hope you like pizza.
