Valentines dinner at $200each plus wine. Two options - either vegan or surf n turf. Ever had a $200 vegan meal? There is no such thing. They presented passable $80 vegan meal. Lovely cauliflower panna cotta, interesting braised celery root and yummie mushroom tortellini. The entre of cannelloni was not edible - it was just horrible. I still am in disbelief that such a fine dinning experience would present something like that as the pinnacle of a meal.

Service was very attentive except at the end they seemed to have forgotten to pick up my check.

We went to Ojai for a date weekend and chose the Olivella. We asked for a table on the patio overlooking the beautiful view which we would highly recommend. We were glad we planned our reservation so that we arrived before it got dark so we could see the property and the beautiful view. All the staff were more than just friendly, there was a atmosphere of excellence that radiated off of everyone who served us. We often get great service, but this was outstanding.
Food was amazing and they obviously have a creative chef that is a real chef, not just some guy in the kitchen.
We would certainly go back but we would hope that the parents that brought the crying kid would choose to get a babysitter next time instead of disturbing all the other guests who wanted a nice, quiet dinner. I have kids, and one granddaughter, so I totally get it and I love kids...but really ? I also get that if your there as part of a large family dinner then of coarse you bring junior. But we were outside on the patio, and this child was inside somewhere and it was even loud on the patio. It must have been horrible for those inside and it wasn't just for a went on and on. You know how when a kid cries for so long they are almost choking and can't even seem to breathe because they are desparately gasping for air? Ya well that was how long it went on. If I was that parent I would have the common courtesy to leave the restaurant and do whatever it took to not disturb others. IF I had to miss dinner and take my kid to the car and drive around while my wife enjoyed the dinner with family then so be it. We have done it in the past.
SO my only recommendation is that they find a way to politely ask a parent in this type of situation to take care of their child outside of the restaurant...or maybe if the Olivella continues to accommodate small children then they could offer parents access to a "children's room" where parents could take their child until they are settled down.

This was our second visit to Olivella. Our first experience was above and beyond our expectations so we wondered if it could be beat. And it was! We not only had an absolutely delicious dinner, but the service was once again outstanding! We will definitely be back!

We had a really wonderful meal. I loved almost everything. Unfortunately, I had the Char, which I didn't like quite as much as everything else. We shared the truffled risotto, and the beet salad, which were really delicious. The seared octopus was interesting, but I wouldn't order it again. One of us had the rib dish, which she loved. The olive oil cake for dessert was amazing.

Food was excellent. We did the tasting, and I’m glad we did. It was all so good, and I was so excited to taste lots of different menu items. I had crudo (amazing, very good combo of himachi and citrus); lamb pappardelle (good but very rich without enough mint/dairy); Arctic char (perfectly prepared); and the hazelnut dessert (also very rich but easily cut with sea salt gelato). Friend had salad (tasty but not very special); Classic rigatoni (just... yum!!); filet (generous portion, good but too big to finish); and choc surprise dessert (awesome).

Fresh local ingredients, the way California does best. Expensive but worth every penny for the quality!

We went to Ojai Valley Inn and Spa to celebrate my Fiance's birthday and we were treated so well.
Olivella was the perfect way to close the day. The service was phenomenal and the food was as well.
We highly recommend the: Crudo of Pacific Yellowtail (so fresh and beautiful flavors), Black Truffle Risotto, Main Lobster, Snake River Farms Filet.
Thank you to the staff at Olivella and Ojai Valley Inn and Spa for a fantastic weekend celebration!!

The food was excellent, location excellent, but the service was the differentiating factor . The menu was simple but suitable for a variety of tastes. Overall the experience was better than I expected.

The food needed to be seasoned. Every dish from salad to pasta to main course needed salt and pepper.

7th Thanksgiving in a row at the Ojai Valley Inn and Spa for dinner. Pricey with good food but the service ... meh. For $125 / person why rush us out? Perhaps our last year.

Food was excellent. Service was a little slow. Tasting menu was very good, but way too much food. 3 course option would be nice.

Without question one of the most incredible dining experiences I've ever experienced. My girlfriend and I had cocktails just outside the restaurant where we watched Ojai's famous "pink moment". The cocktail server was very helpful with suggesting the drinks and was very attentive and personable. She informed us that the type of sunset we were experiencing can only be encountered in two places worldwide. One in Ojai, the other in Nepal. We had showed up a little early but the GM was able to accommodate us right away. John our server knew the menu very well and made sure we were well taken care of throughout the entire experience. Melissa, the wine director, was incredible as well. Her recommendations were flawless and service was world class. We both had the tasting menu and both agreed it was such a great value. Highly recommend Olivella to anyone looking for an extraordinary dining experience!

Exceptional food and service. We went to Ojai on recommendation -my daughter had been several years ago. Although the grounds and activities were nice, the restaurant was the memorable aspect of our visit. Each of the three courses were prepared and presented in a non rushed fashion. Our server was helpful in describing the ingredients and melding the flavors. The process lasted approximately one and a half hours- what a treat! No hesitation in recommending this five star restaurant.
