Olive Lucy's Kitchen Table Ratings and Reviews
After reading great reviews, we decided to give it a try. It was well worth it. The food was fresh and delicious. It was hard to choose just one appetizer; they all sounded good. We decided on the mussels, and the broth was delicious. For the main course, we had Benny's Portuguese Chorizo and Clams which had a perfect spice. After that, we had no room for desert, but they looked good. The service was friendly and not hovering. We were not rushed and it was a delightful meal.
I read all of the positive reviews ,before we decided to go ,and I wish i could be as pleased as the other people ,who dined here. I'm Italian and all I can say is what were all of you eating when you said how wonderful they were? I will tell you it had more pepper in it then either one of us could handle, we sent it back. Next, my wife had a stuffed sole which we both agreed was good but very small portion for the price. I had Salmon Mediterranean, which was over cooked and dry as can be. The sauce it came in was the same sauce that we had on our calamari appetizer, sorry I forgot to write it was what we ordered to replace the meatballs, it was a solid appetizer except for the marinara sauce. So, again the salmon had this same sauce and it was the consistency of tomato paste, it was brutal. Also, this place gets noisy, but the interior is really nice.
Great find in busy Morristown, NJ with so many options. Very beautiful space with warm décor and festive holiday trimmings. Innovative menu with very good choices. Good portions. Immaculate service and very friendly staff. Attention to detail is apparent. Will make time to go again.
Ambience beautiful as always. Food was good as always, but the lobster ravioli edging was a bit too aldente for me... would of been more enjoyable softer around the edges. Also my hubby and younger daughter are vegan and we paid $21 for a plate of pasta and sauce with some mushrooms on top - the lobster ravioli was $24. So not quite a deal on pasta with sauce on top, a bit much for pasta. Highly recommended the Caprese Salad!
The food and staff we wonderful.
However, we felt a little rushed. We were just finishing our appetizers and the main course was brought out. But we were about 15 minutes late for our reservation (parking) so that not always be the case.
5 stars for the food! The waiter was very attentive and laughed at my jokes! Whar’s better than that.
The most recent time we’ve been there the food was even better than its ever been and seems that they grew the size of their portions! I’ve always talked about how they were on the small side for the price you pay but they gave pretty large sizes and prices stayed the same. My favorite restaurant in Morristown. Only bone to pick is that we had a lot of leftover food that we asked to be packed up and it never made it back to our table. Since it was a lot of food left we told our waiter and he gave us a $25 voucher for next time. Fair enough.
Olive Lucy's was pretty good, not great. We went there at the suggestion of my 30 year old daughter (who had been there several times). We went on a week-day night and the place was about half full. Menu is interesting and BYO brings the cost down, so it would be a good choice for a "nothing special" night out on the town. Stuffed mushroom appetizer was excellent - it came with a hot wine/cheese sauce that was very tasty. My dish (masconado -- dish of mixed shellfish and fin fish served in a nice broth) was quite good and I would order it again. My wife got the cod and didn't like either the taste or the texture. My daughter got the honey mustard salmon and enjoyed it, so we were two for three on the evening.
The owner is great (my wife swore he was Derek Jeter and we laughed about it with him). I love Portuguese and Italian food and besides our house....it was the first fusion of this kind I have found. You don't have to worry about being quiet---it is very comfortable and great. Can't wait to take my lady again.

Excellent food want to go back and try other items. Appetizers were amazing. Staff was very friendly and on top of everything, even the owner makes his rounds. Tables might be little close but dim lighting makes it nice atmosphere. Prices might be little high for some but food is so well worth it.
RE: Olive Lucy's.
A few of us were seeking to meet at a midway point, since we're over three hours apart.
Morristown seemed a good location with a number of restaurants to choose from. We proceeded to look through the listings and settled on Olive Lucy's. We really weren't sure what to expect, but as it turned out, we'd made an excellent choice. The menu was enticing, the appetizers very good, the entrees delicious and the service just right. We found it to be a very enjoyable experience in pleasant surroundings. It is unfortunate, that we are so far away or we'd certainly visit more regularly.
The fried meatballs appetizer is outstanding as is the spinach avocado salad. The blackened salmon special was very tasty and cooked just right. Stay away from the lobster ravioli which was mostly a cream sauce, you could barely see the ravioli. Desserts are not very imaginative except for the flambe. Service was good from our waiter but staff clearing the table seemed untrained and greatly detracted from our experience.
