Chef- owner Jimmy Shraby is a gracious and a dynamic host, always striving for excellence. He’s dedicated to providing his guests with an enjoyable dining experience with one primary goal in mind, to offer the area residents the finest food served by a friendly wait staff & atmosphere grandeur with a plus.
Our goal is to establish a landmark for the Jeffersonville area and a must place to visit by both the locals as well as the tourists. Perfect place for all your special events! Also caters on and off premises.
If you have the means, definitely have olive leaf on your short list (two blocks from big four bridge) for a special occasion meal & enjoy table side desserts flambé.
Great view of the river, courteous waitress, good food. I recommend confidently.
We had a wonderful evening, our waitress Terry was awesome. Very helpful being this was our first time there. She answered all our questions and gave us info on the Sunday brunch and Thunder. The food was very good.
I would have to give it a 1.... I would give it a zero, given the option, but I can't. We arrived for our reservation only to find out the restaurant was closed. No notification from open table. We had to find somewhere else to eat, last minute. Being that it was a Friday night, most restaurants around were very busy, or fully reserved. We did end up with a wonderful meal at Bridge and Barrel, and I would definitely give them 5 stars.
Olive Leaf Bistro offers a nice riverside view of the Big Four Bridge, which can be beautiful at night. The food is satisfactory, but better can be found in the area, particularly at a better value. My meal consisted of the lobster bisque, rigatoni bolognese, and souffle, none of which disappointed. The energy in the restaurant was absent, as there was only one table besides us. If you are looking for a nice, quiet meal with a good view, then this is your place. If you are a foodie, explore other options first.
It was a quiet evening at the Olive Leaf Bistro that translated to a beautiful, quiet setting with a view of the river and prompt and kind attention. We each had the speciality pasta dish with Kalamata olives, with mine adapted to include veal rather than chicken. Both dishes were delicious. The marinara was especially tasty. The stuffed mushroom appetizer was a bit bland but the warm rolls were amazing! We will be back when the weather improves for outdoor seating and another delicious meal.
Dinner was great! I had pasta, my husband had a greek salad. We had lemon cake and coffee. Very pleased with the friendly service. The food here is always outstanding!
Great food quality and value!
The food was awesome. Everything was fresh. Seafood paella and Linguine with Clam Sauce were truly enjoyed. The service was friendly, fast and professional. The view is nice, located near the bridges and the Ohio River. Highly recommended.
Nice quant place, little over priced but good for the location. Service and food very good. Nice guitar playing in background, not too loud. Enjoyed.
Arrived 10 min early for our 7:00 reservation on Valentines Day. We were seated and sat for nearly 20 min with no one greeting us or asking if we would like even a glass of water to drink. We decided to not wait any longer and excused ourselves from the restaurant. We drove around the block and went to O’Shea restaurant and immediately sat at a booth and was greeted within two minutes. Had a nice dinner and salvaged our night.
We went on Valentine's Day. The food was outstanding as usual. Truly enjoy dining here and cannot wait until it is warm enough to eat outside and watch the river and people.
The food here is good, but they were operating on a limited menu for Valentine’s Day, which should be noted when a reservation is made (or we should think to ask). Overall it was fine but we will probably not go here again for events such as this. It has a lovely view, which is a big draw for us.
Highly disappointed in our experience at Olive leaf, we were looking to spend our last night in the area eating on the water. We received sub par service and food, My husband received the wrong meal all together first and the second entrée was store bought frozen pasta and meat soup instead of a bolognaise. I ordered shrimp scampi and the sauce was so creamy that I had to ask if it was alfredo neither of us ate more than a few bites. The staff never once asked how the food was with our plates in plain site mostly untouched. Also they advertised half off bottles of wine online but then said " we don't offer that anymore". Such a beautiful opportunity for a restaurant on the water but completely missed the mark.
Really had a great night out with my wife in an environment just for adults. No outside noises to interrupt the evening. Will definitely be back thanks for experience.
Food was good, but extremely pricey. We went primarily to explore Mediterranean menu options, but there aren't very many. It's mostly Italian staples. Service was very slow even when restaurant wasn't that crowded.
Lovely view of Ohio River and Louisville from Indiana side. All three liked our food served by an anxious-to-please waiter.
The menu had changed the day before. We had decided on this restaurant based on the menu posted online. Almost everything was served with pasta , a few with rice, two with potatoes. We follow a paleo diet and usually find a few items on the menu that work, sometimes with a vegetable substitution. There was nothing on the menu, note we picked this because the old menu had several delicious sounding options. We finally went with items that are not paleo, however the food was ok. Not special for deviating off our diet. Restaurant states it’s Mediterranean and European cuisine. Felt it was mostly ltalian based due to so many options had pasta
Wonderful, authentic Mediterranean restaurant! Met the owner who was extremely gracious! Home made EVERYTHING! Desserts to die for! A beautiful view of the Ohio River and the Louisville skyline with a very cozy, relaxed atmosphere. Definitely worth the drive over the bridge from Louisville (I recommend the 2nd St. Bridge!). Only a five minute drive from downtown, but WORLDS AWAY!
Olive Leaf was great! My cocktail was delicious! The lobster bisque was excellent and there was a lot of it. The ravioli was very good. My husband’s blackened mahi mahi was delicious he said. And the suffle was excellent! Will definitely come back again! Enjoyed the guitarist also!
Loved the vegetarian selections. First time there but won't be the last. Quiet with great view of the river. Waitress was great. The truffle fries were fantastic. Just loved it!
Nice place, need more options for food, fresh bread would be nice. I ask for mushrooms on alfredo which should be a thing, but they had no mushrooms or broccoli which was my second choice. Ask for Riesling and I am pretty sure what I got was not Riesling. Ordered the pumpkin souffle and did not care for that either. That was not the restaurant's fault, that was mine for not knowing what I was ordering. The server did not seem very interested in us or our experience. Might try this place again and hope for a different server and order something else.
Saw this restaurant on Trip Advisor. Quiet neighborhood gem. Really good food, good service, and quiet enough to have a conversation. The pasta was really good and the bisque was also very good. Would visit again
I was in town for just a couple of days and this is definitely the best restaurant there. Nice view, good food, good wine. And service is excellent.
Fabulous food and service! Very pleased, will return!
The grouper with a lemon caper sauce was delicious! My husband had the homemade lobster ravioli which was also fabulous. Thank goodness he was willing to share. Their Grand Mariner soufflés are always a special treat as well. Our server Jessie was delightful. A wonderful meal with a spectacular evening view of the river!
Waitress was obviously distracted and forgot bread after offering it. Had to ask for it; she said it was in oven and would be hot when she brought it- it was ice cold. She also put in my husband’s steak as med rare when he had ordered it medium. The steak wasn’t very good anyway so he only ate half of it. My tortellini was just okay. She asked about dessert when I had ordered a soufflé with my entree as the restaurant requested. She said oh yeah, that’s right. And we waited 25 minutes for the soufflé; she’d obviously forgotten to put that order in. When our bill came we had been charged for my husband’s steak twice. Once this was pointed out, it was corrected promptly, but it was just the icing on the cake to an all around bad experience at this restaurant! We will not be going back!
Had high expectations but the food was really not very good. Flavorless tomatoes and an old balsamic paste led off the meal and the two pasta dishes were not very appealing nor tasty. A good bottle of wine and a few desserts were the only decent part of the meal. Thankfully a fantastic companion was there to make it tolerable
I absolutely loved this place. What a great find.
Great food and our server, Jessie, was fabulous! Lovely , relaxing view of the Ohio River. This is our “go to” place for special occasions. The Mediterranean salmon is a favorite!
Perfect evening! Food was great. We will be back again.
Overall great. There was a concert on the riverbank which on occasion was a little loud.
Absolutely exquisite! We are there two Friday evenings in a row. Fantastic food! Guests and business thought out of this world! Bacon wrap dates. Bruschetta. Steak. Chit ken Parmesan. Fish. The prepared a chicken butter piccata w capers for my husband even though it’s not on their menu. Two different pastas. Everyone went crazy! We had great cocktails, good wine. Crepe brûlée, canola, and the molten cake was incredible.
Surprisingly small portions, particularly my Mahi Mahi dish that couldn't have been more than 3 oz and was overdone. My wife's salmon was a bit bigger but also overdone. Service was not great as our waiter had a difficult time understanding us (language barrier). We won't be returning.
It was a nice Sunday. We were looking for a really good place to eat outdoors by the river and not spend a fortune. Olive Leaf Bistro was prefect.
Mediocre food at best. Beautiful river view but quality of food is disappointing.
The lobster ravioli was amazing - the most flavorful I have ever had! Wonderful, attentive service. A really nice place with a great view of Louisville.
Food was over cooked. Dry chicken and scorched fish.
Although the service was great, the food isn’t quality enough for the price tag.
The chicken wasn’t done when it arrived however we sent it back and it was redone perfectly. The server was gracious and kind and took the entree off the bill and gave us a free dessert. Fabulous atmosphere sitting outside overlooking Ohio river on a cool summer evening. We will return.
Second visit and the last. Food is just bland, boring and over priced. The alfredo sauce was thinner than soup and made a huge mess all over the table trying to eat it. Everyone at the table needed an umbrella.
Both visits we felt like we were inconveniencing the server.
I guess it is what they say - location, location, location. The river view is the only it has got going for it.
