Our goal is to establish a landmark for the Jeffersonville area and a must place to visit by both the locals as well as the tourists. Perfect place for all your special events! Also caters on and off premises.
If you have the means, definitely have olive leaf on your short list (two blocks from big four bridge) for a special occasion meal & enjoy table side desserts flambé.

It was a nice Sunday. We were looking for a really good place to eat outdoors by the river and not spend a fortune. Olive Leaf Bistro was prefect.
Mediocre food at best. Beautiful river view but quality of food is disappointing.
The lobster ravioli was amazing - the most flavorful I have ever had! Wonderful, attentive service. A really nice place with a great view of Louisville.
Food was over cooked. Dry chicken and scorched fish.
Although the service was great, the food isn’t quality enough for the price tag.
The chicken wasn’t done when it arrived however we sent it back and it was redone perfectly. The server was gracious and kind and took the entree off the bill and gave us a free dessert. Fabulous atmosphere sitting outside overlooking Ohio river on a cool summer evening. We will return.
Second visit and the last. Food is just bland, boring and over priced. The alfredo sauce was thinner than soup and made a huge mess all over the table trying to eat it. Everyone at the table needed an umbrella.
Both visits we felt like we were inconveniencing the server.
I guess it is what they say - location, location, location. The river view is the only it has got going for it.
Something happened in the last year. Have eaten there in the past with great experience. This time service terrible food was microwaved no flavor and well over priced. My out of town friends were very disappointed. Should and will go to Moma Rosa next time. Sorry the place has gone down. Nice location
First time visiting: Food was very good. However, their business was very slow, so they wanted to close early on a Friday night, this cutting our a little date short. That didn't seem like the best service to me considering we were racking up a $95 bill.
This is the second time we’ve eaten at Olive Leaf, the first time was back in February for a birthday celebration and thought it was wonderful. It was dark outside and the setting and ambiance just felt different because of the time of year. This time, we had a party of 8 and were celebrating relatives in from Dallas. It felt very stodgy this time, there was a funky odor and didn’t get the same vibe. However, the appetizers were great, salads looked great but I ordered the salmon and was really disappointed. I didn’t care for the sauce which came with it, it was flavorless and it came with some broccoli. It was just okay and I didn’t finish it. Not sure if I’ll go back. Sitting outside with the music would be nice if the weather is nice.
Anniversary dinner. Food was great, service was fine. Only negative was that the outside patio is right on the street so it was noisy and we got exhaust fumes. Eat inside and you'll still have a good view of the Ohio River.
on line menu showed much more selection then the in house menu had. small portion for the money. Not very much to choose from.
Enjoyed sitting on the deck listening to music and watching passers by.
We stopped in en route to a race thinking we were eating in Louisville and found a charming neighborhood across the river from Louisville with excellent service and food. Parking in front of the restaurant. Live music inside (guitarist and back up singer). The whole experience was such pleasant surprise. Highly recommend.
Had a very good time!! Plus I really enjoyed the food ,and service!!
Great place for Sunday brunch. Food, service, and being on the river makes this place a other Sunday visit.
Took the family for Mother's Day and enjoyed a very nice brunch. Food was delicious and a nice variety, including desserts. Service was friendly and attentive, and there was live music from a guitarist. The dining room, however, was very warm as if the air conditioner wasn't able to keep up with the 90 degree day. Also, they advised me when they brought the bill that on parties of 5 or more they automatically added the gratuity...20% on the tax-included total. That seems a little odd for only 5 people and a buffet. Regardless, it was a nice celebration.
We love the Olive Leaf Bistro. We had reservations for our mothers, children and grand babies for Mother’s Day. They seated us in a private dining room which we at first thought was very nice, however, the room got extremely hot and stuffy. Our waiter, who was wonderful, tried to adjust the temperature but it just did not help. They definitely need to do some HVAC work for this room. This rest of the restaurant seemed fine. The buffet set up for Mother’s Day was excellent though, and I don’t usually like Buffets. It was nicely done.
I took my wife and mother here for Mothers Day. We have a wonderful brunch. The food was excellent and the service was great. We will return.
Enjoyed dinner with friends in the outdoor area. Nice seating area, great food with great presentation and nice view of Louisville. Great service as well!
We stayed in Jeffersonville for the Kentucky Derby. We had dinner at Olive Leaf on the Friday night before the Derby and were pleasantly surprised. An interesting menu with several choices of interest. Food was very good, and the service from Byron was excellent.
Nice view and overall ambiance.
Service was average. No staffed bar tender; servers are required to prepare all bar items. Wait for drinks was 20 minutes or more. We use to love this restaurant. Probably will not go back!
Well, it was prom night so I don’t want to be too hard on the server who had several tables. She didn’t show up at key times. And did t pace the food well. The lobster bisque was more like watery tomato colored dribble with a chunk of some canned lobster. The other dishes were okay, but not stellar.
Very nice view of the river and great outdoor dining.
Not sure if it was OpenTable or Olive Leaf Bistro responsibility, but the wife and I were in Louisville for the weekend for our 1 year wedding anniversary. We made reservations Friday for Sunday evening thinking it could still be busy due to Thunder Over Louisville. We spent the money to Uber from the hotel to the restaurant just to find out they were closed due to equipment failure. Was quite embarrassing to say the least since we were all dressed up and with Uber. Had to enter email/phone for the reservation, so would think it would be easy enough to give a heads up. Again, not sure if it would be the restaurants or OpenTables responsibility, or even mine for not checking up on the reservation, but at least send a text or email. Mainly leaving this review as a suggestion to improve service. Needless to say to ignore my ratings for the food for i'm sure their food is amazing, but was unable to verify.
I booked through Open Table. When we arrived the restaurant was closed.
There was only a small paper written by hand, saying that they were closed because of problems with some equipment.
I felt disappointed.
Stumbled onto the restaurant because we were spending the night on the road in Jeffersonville, Indiana. We like Mediterranean food and decided to give it a chance. Perhaps we just chose wisely (Paella and a grilled bronzini whole fish with lobster risotto), but both dishes were, quite simply, superb. We travel and eat out a good bit; I would definitely rank it in the top 10 per cent--maybe 5 per cent--of restaurants we've eaten over the last decade.
Left after 30 minutes and no service. We didn't even get two glasses of water. The hostess came by once and said she'd get someone to us. After 10 more minutes with no one coming to our table and other tables around us getting service, we walked out. I don't honestly think anyone at the restaurant noticed or cared. After all, they had my contact info on the reservation and I never heard back from them.
We might give them another shot someday, but probably not worth it from what I saw.
We love Olive Leaf. Our server, Dan, was exceptional.
Had a confirmed reservation via Open Table on Easter Sunday. They apparently lost it. Came with my family on Easter and due to their negligence was turned away. Obviously next to impossible to find another good restaurant with a table on Easter Sunday. The management made no effort to accommodate the 3 of use despite their error. Looks like a nice place, but rating low due to the lack of true service and effort to correct their error.
We had brunch here, which seemed to be a sampling of many of their popular menu items... and WOW!!! Delicious, amazing and reasonably priced! Every single dish was incredible. There was live music which fit the cozy space well, not too loud. The drinks were satisfying and well priced, too. Desserts were FANTASTIC!!! Plus, the view was perfect, unblocked view of the bridge and the River! The staff was attentive and kind, "on it"!!! The sous Chef came out to talk to us and made us an extra entree that had run out for the buffet;) IMPRESSED... and will be back!
Made reservation for Easter Brunch. When we arrived, we discovered that we were NOT seated at a table, but squeezed into an area at end of Bar (being used for dessert bar). There was very little room to get into seats as they butted up to wall. And it was not possible to eat comfortably or converse with the rest of my party. The reason you pay an inflated price for an average buffet on a holiday, is the ability to make a reservation and be assured of getting a table. Whomever made the decision to use this end of bar seating for Reserved Customers had VERY LITTLE REGARD for comfort, or enjoyment of their customers.
Our second visit. Still very good food. Best to visit on a good weather day and eat outside on the patio.
Our first time here. Food and service were excellent. Will be going back soon.
We arrived on Saturday night for a 7pm reservation. We were the only ones there. Granted it was a rainy night but seemed odd. However, our group of 6 enjoyed the food and we had Dan as our waiter and he was very attentive. I am sure you have experienced bad service sometimes when a restaurant is not busy. This was definitely not the case. It was our first time there and he explained everything and made some recommendations for entrees. It would be a great place when the weather gets nice as there is a big patio. It would also be great for watching Thunder.
Their wine menu is very limited but I enjoyed the only chardonnay. Ended the meal with great desserts too.
It was worth the trip. The service, location on the water, quiet conversation, and background guitar off set the mediocre food. We would go back simply because it was a very pleasant evening.
This use to be great restaurant. This past visit the food was sub par. The potatoes had no flavor and the pork was fatty. I will think twice before giving them a second chance
Great little restaurant and very good food. A little bit on the pricey side but you cannot expect that with this atmosphere. Had a guitar player playing in the background which was not too loud. The service was great.
We went to Olive Leaf to celebrate two birthdays. The booth we sat in was cozy and the view of the river and the bridge was great. But the food did not fail. Everyone loved their entree and really enjoyed the evening. The music was also a nice touch. Will definitely go back.
Very nice menu. Mediterranean and European selection.
