Olive and Vine - Glen Ellen is an upscale restaurant located in the San Francisco Bay Area that offers a modern American farm-to-table menu. Every product and ingredient used at Olive and Vine is fresh and locally sourced. Try elevated dishes like homemade pappardelle with maitake mushrooms and chard, English peas and sheep's milk ricotta croustade in leek parmesan broth.
The elegant interior of Olive and Vine is comprised of 40 foot ceilings and hardwood floors. It's decorated with vintage crystal chandeliers and historical photographs of Glen Ellen. The tables are outfitted with Riedel stemware and Italian pearl-handled flatware. This is the perfect spot for a romantic evening out or an intimate meal with family and friends.
This is one of my favorite restaurants in Glen Ellen. It is now closed. They are opening, later in the year, in Sonoma. It will be worth checking out the new location just to see the new building. But this restaurant will be worth going to anywhere because of the interesting menu. Love it...
Shucks, they are going to be moving. Glen Ellen has lost a gem, but at least they are moving to Sonoma. I just hope the building dept has the heart and brains to fast-track their restoration of a great old building "the cooperage" which is on 1st West. At least they will be available for catering while they are setting up their new shop.
It was a wonderful experience! It was my 60 th birthday and everything was perfect.
Been here a number of times over the years... become somewhat familiar with the owners: chef and sommelier... the restaurant is not that close to our house so we don't get there too often, but when we do, we tell ourselves to come more often...the best service and food we get to regularly...
The food, ambiance, service and wine list are all fantastic! WE have been enjoying Olive and Vine for years and look forward to going to their new location in Sonoma this spring.
Olive and Vine was recommended to us by foodie locals as their favorite. It lived up to the expectations. The food was exquisite and the service was first rate. We drove out from the town of Sonoma, about 15 minutes. The restaurant is in a the Jack London Center with the entrance on the side, not in the front as it appears. We had a great table by the front and though it was busy for 9 pm, the noise level was low so conversation was quite easy. With help, we selected a lovely Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir, shared a dumpling appetizer, that was excellent. It was more of a soup than we anticipated, so sharing was a bit of a challenge, but they brought us two small bowls. We both loved it. My wife ordered the lamb chop that she loved. I had the osso bucco which I would highly recommend. My wife concluded her mail with a lovely pear pot pie which was accompanied by a vanilla bean gelato. Though she was full, she ate almost all of it. We loved every aspect of the Olive and Vine. We did hear that they might be moving closer in to Sonoma.
Special menu meat was tough. Everything else was fine.
Menu choices excellent..Osso Buco with pork shank was unique..flavorful, veggies tasty. Other diner had the lamb chop which was beautifully prepared. Service was great and even the background music was nicely chosen. The restaurant is closing soon to move on to more diners in Sonoma
Food was delicious, including the desserts and coffee. Service was just right!

Olive and Vine reminds me of those quiet, intimate, gastronomical wonders that dot the countryside in Provence, France. It's just a shame they are moving to a bigger place in Sonoma Square. I do hope they can keep the charm that went so well with truly spectacular food.
We returned to our restaurant where we held our wedding dinner one year ago with high expectations. As before it was an absolutely delightful dinner. The attention to detail was impeccable, the food was devine, and the service was as always five star. We'll be back soon.
We had a very enjoyable evening celebrating my husband's birthday. He had the Neiman ranch beef Osso Bucco and I had the Porter house lamb chop. Both were very well prepared and delicious. We shared a "lemon Caesar salad" for our first course and it was excellent. We had no room for dessert, but they served us two complimentary yummy chocolate truffles.
Staff is very attentive but not intrusive.
We had a wonderful experience at Olive and Vine. They went out of their way to make our anniversary celebration extra special by customizing our menus and dessert. We arrived earlier than our reserved time and they accommodated us quickly. Our server was so pleasant. There was barely any wait time on our orders. The food was fantastic. Overall, our experience was amazing. Will definitely be coming back to Olive and Vine.
Good food, ample portions, 'average' by-the-glass wines, tasty desserts.
The owners are very congenial and stop by every table at least once a sitting.
I'm looking forward to going back in a few months in anticipation of new menu items.
We made our reservation based on the many stellar reviews others have posted. A funky, friendly place with interesting touches like mismatched chairs & chandeliers. The staff is very attentive and knowledgeable. The wine list is excellent and extensive; owner particularly well versed in regional vineyards and selected excellent pairings. The menu looks enticing, but on arrival was disappointing and ordinary. Some under-cooked. Some over-salted. Some with very little flavor at all.
We returned again to Olive and Vine with friends. Very comfortable greeting from the waitress who saw us at the entrance. Once our friends arrived we ordered an Alexander Hill cab. Two of us had the back cod dumplings to start. Another had mussels. One was the BLT salad that the bacon was terrific. For main courses, the pork osso bucco which was good but a small portion. Another was lamb chop that was good. I had the tuna that was seared properly and tasty. Desserts were a cheese plate and triple chocolate consisting of chocolate cookies, gelato, and ice cream. We hear they maybe changing location in February.
From the very friendly greeting into its bustling, warm dining-room on a wet winter night, to stellar service from the wine bar, to the best brussel sprouts dish I have had (a shaved sprouts salad studded with hazelnuts) to a superb entree of delicious and perfectly prepared chicken served with a side of wild mushroom bread pudding, I cannot say enough good things about Olive & Vine. Although I had decided to forgo a party for a big birthday that is coming up, this restaurant (which caters) made me reconsider. Cannot wait to go back. Kudos to the owners for distinguishing themselves in a very competitive field.
