Second time there & again a really good experience.
The patio is the place to be. Inside was a bit noisy for my liking but the food, drinks and service were top notch as always. We even had a child with us and he loved his pizza and fries (great value for the kids food). Can’t wait to go back again.
Our service was terrible for the first 40 minutes. It did improve over time.
good bourbon choices, "dinner salad" option and less cost is a plus, med salad was good, salmon was very good, server did not make it clear that medium rare was an option, perhaps better approach would be: "how would you like that cooked, we recommend medium, but medium rare or rare is also available, scallops were very borderline, not much flavor, and a little bit on the chewy side
Had a great lunch on the patio. Nice location on the Scottsdale river walk. The grilled chicken panini was great and the house sangria was also good. Alfred our waiter was very attentive and always checked in with us.
Excellent food, lovely atmosphere!
Booked on Open Table that morning with a request to sit on the patio and that it was our anniversary. Nice table on the patio and our server Nathan congratulated us on our anniversary. Nathan was great with service and recommendations. Our party had the sea bass, pork chops, veal and spinach raviolis and scallops. All were excellent, as was the artichoke and greens appetizer. Complimentary dessert for our anniversary was awesome! A real treat amongst so many choices in Phoenix!
This is the first time I have been disappointed. The service was subpar. I didn’t care for the sangria and it was presented in a rocks glass. The bread and dip came out significantly after drinks. The server did not put in our order after appetizers in a timely manner and said the cook did not hear her. When the food arrived the chicken was barely warmed and the
Mashed potatoes and gravy was cold. Our server did not return to check on the food. We asked the hostess to get our server who did take the food back. The other dishes were delicious. It came back after a while and was fine . No apologies and no adjustments. We did enjoy sitting and visiting over coffee and did not feel rushed. The atmosphere is lovely the service subpar and the cold food inexcusable.
Very loud restaurant with exceptionally poor service and ill conceived food, not even close to good.
Olive and Ivy is a very good restaurant. The food and drinks are wonderful and the seating, whether outside, inside or at the bar is fantastic. My only complaint is the noise level is much too high.
The space is great - open and airy with beautiful outdoor dining under the Ficus trees right along the canal. Ask for outdoors in your reservation- busy. Very varied menu - from Reubens to Gyros with lots of great salads on the lunch menu. My gyro was huge and delicious - had the second half for dinner that night. Reuben was excellent, but a little light on dressing, which they brought on request. One suggestion - there are no reasonably priced Zinfandels on the list.
This was our 5th visit to Olive and Ivy, so that says something right off the bat. We have always managed to have nice weather for outside dining on the Canal, reserving outside is usually better atmosphere for conversation. Dining selection is varied, so it is sure to please everyone.
Love this place, attentive service, great food, nice ambiance, you will come away satisfied...
Friendly prompt seating service. But slow to serve. Special fries were cold. Took most of my meal to get hot ones. Mgr apologized said he would take them off the but didn't. Nothing speacial about the $13 burger.
Loved this restaurant in Old Town/Downtown Scottsdale. Our first time in Scottsdale for Spring Training...and we went to this restaurant....twice! The prices were great....and I loved the Sunday a.m. Bloody Mary! When we return....we will visit and Olive and her friend Ivy, again! Lol!
Having been here several times I don’t feel the food was up to par this visit. Service was good but we felt rushed.
My sister and 3 nieces came to visit from KC. We we seated on the patio, but immediately informed we had a limited menus and could only stay at the table one hour. I advised I had a reservation in one hour, but we had arrived early hoping to avoid crowds. The hostess said we’d still need to get in and out quickly. During our time at our table, debris from the tree dropped constantly on our table; into our hair and food. I asked to be moved as there were 3-4 open tables nearby, but was told we could not be moved. When we left, those 3-4 tables were still empty. Overall bad experience. I dine here weekly, but felt like I was treated like a snowbird. The hostess were rude and unwelcoming. Our waiter, Joseph was the only friendly person we encountered.
Nice place. Service staff great. Food was mediocre.
We love this place for breakfast on the patio. Always great food, coffee, and great service.
Always a great time. Love to bring folks who have never been there.
The 2 different male waiters that we had were not friendly. We waited to ask a hostess to take a picture of us because we felt we would be asking WAY too much of either of the male waiters. They were the only negative that we experienced. We still tipped over 20%.
The atmosphere was lovely and the service was good but the food was bland and seafoid overcooked.
Food was cold waited along time and wanted one thing was told to try something else
We went for our 10th anniversary. I had indicated it was our 10th when I made the reservation. The setting was beautiful and the food was great. The service was fine—just extremely impersonal. I have had more thoughtful service from a Starbucks drive through attendant. I would have preferred more attentive service on such a special occasion. The anniversary wasn’t acknowledged at all.
We go back for the great food and service. Had a fun lunch on the patio. Server made great recommendations and was very attentive. Highly recommend!
Great meal, service and atmosphere! We love Olive and Ivy!
The entire family enjoyed our experience at Olive & Ivy. Fresh ingredients, thoughtful recipes. The service was great we can’t wait to go back.
Food was good and prepared as requested. However, service was sketchy and server did not pay enough attention in terms of taking the order and/or checking back to ensure all was okay. Otherwise, a pleasant experience. I would recommend if you don't mind a limited wine list and ever shortened menu.
The scallops, bass and pork tenderloin were excellent. The meals are portion sized, so some may want a bit more to eat but the quality was fantastic. The outdoor seating was wonderful. We will definitely be back.
Had the small plate lamb meatballs.
Fantastic and filling. Date had the scallops with bacon gastric, and they were wonderful. Beautiful evening. Pretty restaurant, with great views.
Staff was friendly, and attentive, at the correct level.
Will be back
The food was amazing but our server was not. He left us for long periods of time, couldn’t find him to order more food or dessert. Finally asked another waiter to help us
Fabulous food, great service, and wonderful ambiance.
Always a nice place. We live in Flagstaff and always look forward to eating here!
Fantastic food, service and ambience!
We had requested outside seating to avoid the loud echoing inside the restaurant but 45 minutes before reservation we were notified that outside patio was unavailable. The accommodated us at the restaurant cutoff point where you are inside nearest the outside. We could hardly hear each other’s conversations so I was disappointed. Much better outside!
Our lunch was excellent and our out of town guests were very impressed. Only issue was that the server, while very good at explaining the menu choices, indicated the mediterranean salad with shrimp was served with warm shrimp. It was not, and when we brought this to her attention she did not offer to correct the situation. Also one guest ordered a second glass of wine which took at least 15 minutes to deliver. It arrived after all had finished lunch and drinks.
Great restaurant. Food was delicious and the restaurant is beautiful. Great people watching
Stone, our waiter, was fantastic. My mom, myself and 4 year old enjoyed our tri-generational ladies’ lunch immensely.
You are going to have to do something about the Grackles. They are very annoying...besides being unsanitary. Have you thought about using raptors????? The Phonecian has, as has the Princess.......
