Sadly we had bad service. Having been many times before and had okay service it was a bit disappointing. We had a reservation- arrived on time, were seated and then waited 25 min for a server to come to the table. I went and found someone to ask about taking our drink order. By the time our server came we had all dinner decisions made. It was a bummer. We continued to have to ask for water, ask for the busser to send our server over for additional drink orders, placing orders etc. it went on all night long. Meatballs came out cold, but were never asked so we could tell the server. Honestly, we just gave up. They brought the check quickly however as it must have been time to go.
Although the food was good, the service was horrible. Slow, got things wrong, rude...ruined our dinner
Delicious food tonight. The lasagne was excellent. Light and fresh. Great black ink squid. Great pizzas and amazing chicken.
I understand things happen, but we were seated and waited for 30 min before we even could order a drink. We did get water, our waitress did flash by and basically said I will be back. Meanwhile there was a gentleman who was hanging around the pizza oven wearing glasses tall looked like the manager/ or owner ? He spent about 20 min talking with a table right next to our table getting them whatever they needed and never once looked at us! I don’t know what made them more important than my family! Very bad look. The pizza finally arrived which was good pizza I will add. This was our first time dining at this pizzeria I would give it a second chance, just had to let someone know about our experience. I will say our server was very apologetic bout our wait.
Disappointed in our last visit to Olio. Seems like the quality of food and service has declined. Waiter didn't seem to now the menu very well.
Our eggplant Carpaccio has so much vinegar it was inedible. Caesar Salad was good. Calzone just okay.
The pizza is good, service is average, atmosphere good, but it is way overpriced ...wine, drinks, and food are all too expensive. $100 for 2 people for a glass of wine and pizza is excessive.
Amazing pizza and insalata, great imported beers - my all time favorite lunch spot for Santa Barbara!
Wonderful food, great service. So glad we found this gem!
As always the food and service were terrific. The night we were there the air conditioning was broken. Fortunately there was an available outside table.
Excellent pizza, we had the fig special and it was just like being back in Tuscany. Great casual atmosphere the only negative was the heat, the pizza oven is central to the restaurant/bar and it was quite warm during our time there.
We sat outside on a hot night. It was perfect. My son said the food was better than Italy, which I don’t agree with but it was outstanding.
Stopped in for lunch while on vacation in the area. The tomato soup they brought out was semi-cold, chunky, too salty, and simply not very good. I took a bite then had them take it away. It would have been nice for the server to ask how the soup was seeing that I only took a bite out of it, but it's alright. Other than that, the pizzas we had were delicious - crisp and thin crust with just enough sauce with each bite. They had a lovely outdoor patio which was nice to get away from the DT scene.
This is SUCH a cute place for a date. We got the fig pizza that was a special for the evening and it did not disappoint! Also great pasta and extensive wine list. Will def come back here again if I'm ever in the area.
Our kids live out of town and we met at Olio. It was a bit loud but we had a great meal and a wonderful time. The staff were so nice and accommodating.
Birthday celebration for a friend!
Wanted to have a great experience because the reviews were great. First time here and the we started with the meatballs which were the hardest, over cooked meatballs I’ve ever eaten in my life. The bread plates also had dried crusted in old food on them. Not really our waitresses fault because I saw her working her butt off, but we were never checked in on because they were very understaffed it looked like. Didn’t get water or drink refills... The pizza was good but nothing to die for. Very cute restaurant though. That being said, I would never come back.
Very short on staff on the day we went.
The food is always excellent. First time we sat outside & it was lovely.
Our waitress was delightful. Our food was delicious. We had olives, cheese, salami and bruschetta that we shared. The artichoke salad is excellent. The pizzas were very good. We sat outside on a Monday evening. It was great.
Olio came highly recommended by a friend and did not disappoint. The calamari al nero, tropea pizza & lasagne ferrarese were outstanding. Really flavorful and good size portions. We also shared the roasted peaches with fresh gelato and the house surprised us with a complimentary budino. Roxanne was AWESOME and made the whole experience even better. I noticed a table or two outside near a fountain and would definitely special request that spot for next time.....especially on a beautiful summer night in Santa Barbara.
We tried the new outside patio and loved it. It was bustling and fun to enjoy the wonderful evening weather.
Absolutely amazing and delicious food! Patio is beautiful! Wonderful server !! Extremely impressed, and can’t wait to return!
I really enjoyed my time at Olio Pizzeria last week. The salad and crunchy garlic bread were outstanding! The pizza was kind of odd, but most likely because it was very fresh and very authentic, not the cheesey, gooey type of pizzas Americans normally eat. I loved the favorita chopped salad! And they have my favorite wine, the M5!! Our server was very friendly and took excellent care of us!!
Delicious pizza, nice ambiance, and friendly, excellent service.
For some reason the air temp in Olio is always too warm. Air flow is insufficient in the restaurant and quiet fans would be a significant improvement.
Great calamari and pizza
Definitely down a couple notches from previous visits.
Could of used more staff going into dinner time. Felt rushed and neglected. Food is amazing. Love the place.
Outstanding food and great food as usual. Never less than a great experience.
Came last year for our wedding lunch and just arrived back in town for our anniversary. Food and service was amazing. I think we had Nino. Very friendly.. spoke Italian with my husband. Always score extra points when my husbands finds an Italian speaker. Can’t wait to come back next time!!
Another great meal....what more can be said. Loved my watermelon cooler
Our children took us out for dinner on them(first time)
We all love Olio E Limone and Pizzaria it’s our all time favorite restaurant.
It was wonderful as always
The restaurant was too hot inside. The service was very good even though they seemed short handed. The food was a bit bland and the seafood seemed old on the pizza. The crust to the pizza was excellent and the bread soup was very good.
FANTASTIC FOOD AND SERVICE ... THANK YOU FOR A GREAT EXPERIENCE
We will be back !
The pizza was not made in wood oven pizza as announced, so it was not so good.
Very nice place. Good pizza.
Came for lunch - my chicken salad was fantastic. My friend ordered the lasagne app and the first time it came out, it was not thoroughly cooked and the bottom of the dish was covered in tomato sauce. When it came back, it looked as if it was an entirely new portion, not just reheated- clean dish and plate, no evidence she had tried it previously. THAT is the mark of a good kitchen.
We are somewhat regulars, so this is not an unbiased assessment. We enjoy this place because it is friendly, casual and accessible to a wide range of food tastes/needs, including vegetarian.
On this last visit there were 4 of us, one of whom is a vegetarian. We ordered a broad array of food from black calamari and eggplant parmigiana appetizers to pizza and salad entrees. The only off-note of the evening is that the pizzas were delivered to the table well in advance of the appetizers. However, the food more than made up for the delivery issues
We will return. We don't often eat pizza, and for Italian food we like Trattoria Vittoria much better. However, Olio delivers on what it promises.
