Restsurant did not honor my reservation.
I called to say I’d be about ten minutes late and when I arrived, they had given my table away anyway. I was told I’d have to wait an hour. Will never go back.
I really enjoyed their antipasto misto! But its linguine alle vongole is definitely not fresh neither flavorful. However, aside from the food, my friend and I were really annoyed that they had a photographer FLASHING her camera while people were trying to dine! So inconsiderate of customers! We eventually asked to move seats but the flash still disturbed us. I was super excited to try out Olio e Piu after reading all its great reviews, but I probably won’t go back.
When I’m craving for seafood and pasta Olio e Piu is my place....Linguine Nere allá Sarda is a great dish and for end my amazing diner I got Nutella Calzone. You’ve have to try this dessert, but I recommend you share with your friends. Andrea was very attentive, great service and always on top in his job.
See you next tine !!!
My favorite go to Italian spot. Such a great place. Love the menu and decor
After dining at Olio E Piu my standards for service have definitely gone up. My waitress Shannon raised the bar. She guided us through our dinner seamlessly. She was polite, and professional, had a great knowledge of food and drink, but was also able to let loose a bit and make jokes with us. She was excellent.
The food that Shannon recommend us was perfect. No complaints at all. Tons of flavor and good portion sizes.
The decor is very nice and comfortable feeling, although when it gets busy you feel a bit packed in (as expected anywhere in the village).
I really love this place and I will be back very soon, for the food, service and overall appeal this place has. And of course I will be requesting Shannon as my waitress!
It would have been a great experience if it weren’t for our waitress who was completely rude.
We had just come from a comedy show and had some bottles of sparking water on the table (to meet their two drink minimum), and she condescendingly told me she couldn’t pour that and looked at me in a very rude way.
I then asked the waitress before dinner to make sure she put a candle in the desert and clearly pointed out where the birthday girl was sitting. Birthday girl ordered desert and the waitress forgot the candle. I told her she forgot the candle, so she went back and set it down in front of her with no apology.
On top of that, the food was not memorable. Had the caprese salad with a gigantic portion of dry chicken on the side, and two pizzas, one of which was not pre cut.
Attentive service. Excellent use of the wood burning oven.
Special dinner !!!raviole de funghi ê especial !
Always amazing!!! This is my go to place with friends and especially when people are visiting from out of town! Food was outstanding tonight and our server was the best! Ilir took excellent care of us!
Vongole was not good, the pasta was dripping in soup. Maincorse was good but the waiter sold us A bottle of redwine for $ 140,00. First we asked for two glasses of wine but hè let us believe that because of the discount we should better order A bottle. At the end of the night we really felt riped of. Shame on you!!
The food was delicious!!! The service was average.
The osso bucco was amazing and the absolute best caprese salad I have ever had. Muscles were a little over cooked, but they quickly made it right.
Wanted to impress my date-he ordered pizza and the sauce was so runny the whole pizza was falling apart:( but my ravioli was amazing
Beautiful place, great food, awesome ambiance, and attentive service.
Loved the feel of the room. A very cozy vibe and approachable food. Everything was very well done and delicious!
Very nice food, service and setting
This was a great find. It looks a little "Olive Garden"-like from outside, but inside it's old-school West Village: upholstered chairs, dim lighting, classic and unfussy Italian food and a good wine list. It's a perfect place for a meal pre-theater downtown, or even just to have dinner before a long city stroll.
Great place and service!!
Service was outstanding, attentive without being over the top and didn't feel like we were being rushed at all which given the fact it was valentine's night was somewhat surprising yet very welcome. Given bread olives and oil as an entree. We ordered a beetroot salad and a sprout dish as starters. Followed by shrimp and mushroom risotto and a clam linguini as mains. All food was exceptionally fresh and well prepared. Flavours were divine. Good selection of European beers and lagers. Cocktails also were well measured and prepared. Would not hesitate in returning time and again.
Hermoso lugar!! Vamos siempre que venimos a New York 🤗🤗
Impeccable night! Eli was the best waiter it made the night memorable. This was my first time dining at the restaurant and it lived up to their rating even my Male friend was impressed.
Pasta carbonara: rich and filling
Focaccia: flavorful and fluffy
Lemon panna cotta: hint of lemon, amazing density, lovely palate cleanser
Delicious food - specifically the gnocchi pesto! - and great ambiance. Service was a little slow, however
While the food was excellent our service was horrible. The waiter did not remember who got what dish, was unable/unwilling to honor requests, could not explain why one dish was not as represented and was downright rude. Additionally, the tables are so crowded that there is literally no room to move.
Overall we enjoyed our experience here, and I would probably go back. The downside is they *really* cram the tables in the restaurant and there is not enough staff to serve them all. Our waiter visited our table sporadically so we waited a long time to get orders in and then to request the check. Also a person in my party didn't get their main dish until the rest of the table had finished theirs so that was disappointing. The food was really tasty though so props for that!
It’s loud and tables are tightly packed, but it’s charming and the food was great. The only downside of our visit was the service. We were seated for 15 minutes before offered water, then our server took our order with no recommendations offered. Ordered three entrees for the two of us and an appetizer. All were good, and we had no regrets. After our plates were cleared we seem to have been forgotten. Had to finally ask for a dessert menu and asked they bring the check with dessert, since the server had been difficult to find. Dessert came 10 minutes later without the check anyway. When we finally got the check and paid my wife was visibly frustrated. Apparently she’d been able to see the server standing up near the hosts at the front chatting and smiling most the night behind me.
We came to celebrate moving out of New York after a few years here, and I must say I hope our next food scene can manage to pair good food with good service - New York is so often unable to do both!
To be fair, other tables around us were waited on with attentive staff, from what we could see. But our server took what could have been a memorable dining experience and made it quite average at Olio e Piu.
Nice vibe and atmosphere but non-pasta entrees extremely over-priced and underwhelming. Osso buco was overcooked and served with inadequate sauce to overcome how dried out the meat was. Waiter should have inquired why so much of the entree remained on my plate. If you want to charge $46, at least make it edible. Had I ordered pasta and/or pizza I probably would have had a different experience.
Came for a birthday with a family of four. Food was great, serice was impeccable. Highlyg recommended for an occasion or for regaulr dining. Only minor comment relates to miscoordination in clearing appetizer plateware before main courses arrived - there was no room to place anything on the smallish tables (especially when seating four).
A wonderful experience that should be shared.
Food is okay but probably not the best Italian food you can find in NYC. It's a bit overpriced for the quality, even though most pastas are handmade. It is well located but the venue is a bit oldish. Maybe in spring and summer, it's a different story with the outside seating.
Nice italian but felt as if they were understaffed for the level of clients. It was very very very busy.
I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves traditional italian food! Excellent service, the waiter was constantly at my table refilling our wine glasses for us. Overall a 5 star experience.
Excellent food and attentive service - and a wine list filled with some lovely Italian reds. The only negatives were that seating is very tight and noise is high, at least it was on the Saturday night we went. Nonetheless, the kitchen put a perfect touch on all four of our meals - ranging from Gnocchi and steak to scallops and lamb chops. Bravissimo!
Definitely a great atmosphere and the food was delicious.
Great place and atmosphere, the service was great and very witty about our needs. Vet recommended
Excellent food and excellent service! We had the caprese salad with incredibly delicious burrata, very nice minestrone soup, and a really great calzone with spicy sopressata, and followed it up with a fabulous lemon ricotta panna cotta for dessert. Our waiter Ilir was very friendly, very attentive, and very cute :-)
We arrived on a Thursday evening at 5pm and it was not crowded nor noisy, just how we like it. Other times we've been here later in the evening or on a weekend and the noise can be cacophonous.
Very tasty food with good service and nice ambiance
The food and wine where very good, and the restaurant has a lovely ambiance. The service and hospitality were absolutely outstanding! We were there to celebrate a special occasion and we had a wonderful night thanks to our waiter.
