Olio e Limone Ristorante, located in downtown Santa Barbara's historic arts district, serves artisanal Italian cuisine. Meaning “oil and lemon” in Italian, their restaurant’s name reflects husband-wife team Alberto and Elaine Morello’s philosophy: rely on the integrity of the ingredients and quality of the preparation to provide Santa Barbara diners “simply sophisticated” Italian cuisine served in an inviting atmosphere with European hospitality. Start with eggplant souffle, then tuck into a plate of house made duck ravioli. And be sure to take home a bottle of their own olio, an organic extra-virgin olive oil made from Sicilian olive varieties.
Bonus: their Milano-styled Olio Crudo Bar, and authentic pizzeria next door at Olio Pizzeria.
Private dining in the Cucina Room for up to 40 guests to resume once permitted.

Very disappointed. Food was good, but the service was not good. We sat for 40 minutes before our order was taken, the waiter spilled our wine, we had to ask for our order to be taken, never told us the specials, our table was across from the open door and we were very cold. A table if 6 in the middle of the restaurant we felt very ignored.

It Was our 47th anniversary. My only complaint is that the hostess would only show us the one table and gave us no other choice of table and was not particularly nice about it.

My husband and I came here during our Honeymoon trip to Santa Barbara. The food was delicious! My husband is a picky eater with special dietary restrictions, so fine dining doesn't always work for him. However, he loved the pumpkin ravioli. My only regret was we didn't leave room for dessert. Definitely hope to come back!

The welcome at the entrance was horrendous !
No smile, no "nice to see you" completely closed face of the person , we felt like we annoyed him : we almost left at this point to go elsewhere !

After reading the high scores on Yelp and some of the reviews, we were looking forward to trying Olio e Limone. When we got there we found the room to be old fashioned and charmless and the food to be tasteless and lacking flavor. You know immediately if a restaurant is going to be good or not from the moment they set down the bread basked - and the bread that was delivered to us was coarse and bland. Even the balsamic vinegar lacked flavor. We ordered the caprese salad to start and the buffalo mozzarella and the tomatoes were tasteless and uninteresting. I ordered the chicken saltimbocca and the prosciutto was flavorless as well (likely not true Parma ham) and the pounded chicken was dry - and there was almost no sauce. Hubs had the lamb chops and they were lovely but the red wine reduction sauce had very little flavor and was not the deep, savory veal reduction demi glace sauce that we love with red meats. Daughter ordered the truffle risotto and we were surprised to see a plate arrive of white risotto with asparagus - not the darker, mushroom-studded dish we were expecting - it was more of like a spring vegetable dish - not a truffle risotto. Son ordered the seafood pasta, which I tasted, and was so disappointed in the small bits of drab, tired crab - definitely frozen or canned. Ridiculous for such a well reviewed and pricey restaurant. Perhaps we had the 2nd string chef? I'm not sure. But overall it was a very disappointing meal in a dreary room. With SO many exciting and delicious options in the city, we will not be returning.

Food is good, but the service felt rushed. I asked for another pasta sauce already on the menu, and they said too busy. There were 5 tables. The last time we were there they accomadted us with requested sauce. They were also so busy (sarcastic) that are food came out in like 7minutes. I felt rushed, and I was made too feel like it’s more important too turn the tables than please customers. I will not return.

Fabulous outdoor area for seating with heaters. Had a great branzino and a Muscovy duck special with a fabulous fruit reduction sauce. The spaghetti bottarga was perfect as always. A nice white wine from Sicily ( Etna Rosa ) was enjoyed. Esteban provided fantastic service with food , wine , water, and heater adjustment. Can’t wait to return !

My birthday and my son’s birthday celebration at Limone. My second time at this popular restaurant. I requested a nice quiet table for three of us and was placed into a cramped corner with a very noisy couple who was on a first date and trying very hard to get to know each other which I prefer not to listen to at our birthday celebration. The waiter was polite but seemed annoyed with all of our requests for water, bread, lime and appetizers. The main waitress was nice efficient and good.
Meals were ok not great or awesome. Don’t think I will return with so many choices in SB!

Great soup, which was a tomato/eggplant. The caprese was so-so. The bruschetta was good. Very good bolognese and swordfish special. Delicious dessert!

My friend and I came here for dinner while on vacation. We were seated outside which we asked for. Outside seating was under cover with space heaters. They served bread with olive oil. We asked for balsamic vinegar abd it was brought to us. My friend ordered the pomodoro pasta and a side of veggies which were both excellent. I had pumpkin ravioli with cream sage sauce. The ravioli dough had pumpkin in it and the filling was pumpkin. I enjoyed my dinner, but felt it leaned a little too sweet especially by the time I was finished. I would have liked more fresh sage taste. I think the pumpkin ravioli would be great to split for starters and then one of the more savory meat dishes to go with.

The service was very good. They were very attentive. Refilled our water. They took care of all our dining needs.

I would recommend. Enjoy!
