   Wedding Anniversary which I indicated on Open Table twice but there was no recognition of our anniversary. In the past, we’ve used Open Table and indicated that it was a birthday and we’ve received a free desert at this restaurant. We were disappointed with this visit.

   Outstanding meal. We had the pear carpaccio salad to start - very refreshing. And definitely try any entre -- we had the veal scallopini with artichokes and a very rich (and worth it!) pasta carbonara. Service was excellent -- although a bit too much. Most likely because we were very early - and only one other table was seated inside - so everyone was "helping" make sure we OK.! Always a favorite of ours - it's a must go.

   I came here for my third time, and to be honest, I was so disappointed in the experience. I was genuinely looking forward to what I have known Olio to have been, to bring some visiting family here to enjoy wonderful food and service. Tonight, everything seemed missing. The food was lackluster, and the service left little to be desired. I’m not sure what has happened here at Olio, but both the food and service have gone downhill. I don’t anticipate returning after tonight’s visit.

    Really wonderful restaurant! Our waiter was perfect - informative, knowledgeable and easygoing. Food was excellent - and large servings too for a change. Nice park key with heaters. Oh and all of the fabulous bread you want!

    I had the Special veal chop wrapped in prosciutto, topped with Parmesan with an unbelievable reduction sauce, amazingly delicious. My date had the chicken Parmesan and it was good, but a little to thin, a tad over cooked and therefor a little dry. The special fig appetizer with prosciutto and arugula was beyond delicious, it was like angels singing on your tongue. I would have given 5 stars across the board, had the chicken been like my veal chop. We had a very good head waiter, the supporting staff was a bit sloppy, filling our water glasses with water spilling on the table, all in all a bit nonchalant but very friendly. Definitely going back!!

    Phony Italian. Don’t let their pretense fool you. We had dined here before about 2 years ago. Back then, we found the food and service was excellent. That’s all changed. When we arrived, at least three servers looked at us without smiling or saying anything; almost scowling, and we waited several minutes for someone to greet us. We were shown to our table with still no “welcome” or hello. The restaurant was not in the least busy. We chose two specials and one main on the menu. The pasta dishes were bathing in acidic sauce — so much so that it made us want to stop eating it. A decent salad, some nice squash blossoms stuffed with cheese, perhaps too much cheese. we finished our meal and tried for 30 minutes to get our check. Our waiter had completely abandoned us. By this point there were only two other tables of diners. I finally got up and went into the restaurant, and again had to ask twice for the check. Frankly, we hope Olio e Limone closes and lets someone else who really cares take over the space.

    We were seated outside as requested. Staff, especially Pino, were very attentive and helpful with all selections. Chef Alberto visited guests and expressed gratitude. Branzino filet was perfectly prepared. Gnocchi with truffle fantastic. Recommended wines were perfectly paired. Tiramisu and chocolate banana pudding-fabulous. Wonderful SB ristorante with terrific staff. It’s always a treat to visit Olio e Limone.

    Excellent service - staff was very knowledgeable and attentive. Food was first rate and very pleasing. I had a fish dish (sole) that was just excellent! Cooked to perfection, and the portion size was perfect! Had a wonderful time.

    The setting is very nice. Staff polite and try to be attentive but still the service was extremely slow. The food was a very big disappointment. My wife and I both had pasta dishes. Hers was a vegetarian pasta where the heavy cream sauce drowned out any taste of vegetables. Mine was pappardelle with quail in tomato sauce. Very poor. Seemed to be very little quail in my portion and no taste whatever of the quail given the heavy, overpowering tomato sauce. Both of us were very disappointed.

    The hostess seating people was exceptional. Gracious and efficient as well as helpful. The wine selection was sufficiently good. Ambience was very lovely and the music was kept at a low enough level to allow conversation to take place without having to raise your voice. Menu options were varied and interesting but a bit on the pricey side. Service was less than stellar, but the server had a very large quantity of tables to tend to which may have been due to any number of reasons. Nevertheless, he was quite abrupt. One order was placed for a seafood pasta with a marinara sauce rather than a spicy sauce due to dietary restrictions and we believe that created a problem which should not have occurred. The pasta ended up being a very pricy dish of pasta with one piece of shrimp including the head (yuk) rather than the proposed crab and other varieties of seafood which should have been included in the dish. The angel hair pasta was very tasty and exceptionally plentiful. Perhaps offering half sizes of some dishes would save on a lot of waste. Three gelato desert was very rich indeed! One scoop offerings would be sufficient. Regardless, we will likely try this lovely restaurant again in the future and hope the review will be more fitting for such a neighborhood gem. Don’t let this discourage you from giving the restaurant a try as it certainly could have been a one-off experience. Overall we still like the place a lot!

    This restaurant has been around Santa Barbara for a long time. It is conveniently next door to the New Vic and makes an accessible, close option for patrons to dine. Maybe because it was later on a Sunday, the vibe I got was one of inconvenience. We walked in and there were only 3 tables seated. A server looked at us and went back into kitchen, we waited a few moments and then another server came out and asked us how they could help. We had reservations and they had to look it up on their computer before they would seat us. Once confirmed, we were seated and eventually drink order was taken, food order was taken and we were brought bread. The bread was mediocre at best, barely warm, and seemed like day old bread. No butter was offered only their signature olive oil, no balsamic. We were advised what the specials were, and asked if we had any questions. We were not asked if we wanted appetizers, so we proceeded to order our dinner. It seemed like they wanted us in and out of there quickly. I ordered a special, the Cioppino. The sauce was lovely, as was the shell fish. The rest, a bit over cooked and rubbery. Certainly not what I expect for a $40 dish. No spoon was given initially, no plate for shells or seafood fork - brought after the fact. Again the bread served with it was blah. The other two dishes at our table were decent. The best thing served was the wine and the dessert (Pear dish), which they did so graciously bring to the birthday girl. I expect more from a fine dining establishment and maybe we just went on an off night or after a busy weekend when everyone there just wanted to go home. The server who brought the water was so nice and he also brought the dessert. I might go again but with so many other options it may be a while before I do. I would recommend to a friend but under caution.

    On what turned out to be a breezy, cool night, we arrived 15 minutes early hoping to get a table inside. We were happy to be offered a table near the middle of the restaurant with sufficient spacing around us. The salmon was delicious and my pork chop was tender, already sliced up, with a nice sauce and starch. Our server and bus workers were polite and efficient. Would highly recommend.

    There were so many delicious-sounding lunch options I had a hard time selecting one. The duck salad was wonderful. My friend had the lasagna and she said it was the best she has ever had. We enjoyed a glass of wine and never felt rushed. The waiter staff was top-notch without being over the top.

    My wife and I met a friend for a Mother's Day dinner at Olio e Limone, a restaurant we have visited a number of times in the past. As usual, the food and service were very good, as were the cocktails. Not cheap, but definitely somewhere to go if you want a good experience and are happy to splurge.
