Olio e Limone Ristorante
Olio e Limone Ristorante, located in downtown Santa Barbara's historic arts district, serves artisanal Italian cuisine. Meaning “oil and lemon” in Italian, their restaurant’s name reflects husband-wife team Alberto and Elaine Morello’s philosophy: rely on the integrity of the ingredients and quality of the preparation to provide Santa Barbara diners “simply sophisticated” Italian cuisine served in an inviting atmosphere with European hospitality. Start with eggplant souffle, then tuck into a plate of house made duck ravioli. And be sure to take home a bottle of their own olio, an organic extra-virgin olive oil made from Sicilian olive varieties.
Bonus: their Milano-styled Olio Crudo Bar, and authentic pizzeria next door at Olio Pizzeria.
Private dining in the Cucina Room for up to 40 guests to resume once permitted.

Food is a little pricey but very good. Was easy to make a reservation last minute for a weekday which can be tough in Santa Barbara at the better restaurants. Service was attentive and fast. We ate outdoors and they have a lovely patio.
We love this restaurant so much! The food is always amazing, the drinks are tasty and the desserts are you unique and delectable. It’s worth the value fir the service and food.
Excellent service. The best salmon and spinach. Great tarts.
Top notch service. Beautiful outdoor experience. Food excellent. Great people-watching! We will return.
Excellent service and food was delicious. Loved the beet special appetizer.
My wife commented that the beet salad we shared was the best ever. My daughter started with the bruschetta which was also excellent. Entrees we’re all very good. Even though my wife’s filet dish was the best between us three, the two pasta dishes were prepared exquisitely.
We are based in Saint Louis with a plethora of great Italian restaurants, this Santa Barbara establishment ranks up there with our best.
Lovely experience with great service and food.
The beef carpaccio tastes like you’re eating a salty brick of shaved Parmesan cheese. The flavor and texture of the beef is entirely overpowered by the salt, arugula and cheese.
Duck ravioli was good, the spicy crab meat + prawn spaghetti was delicious, and the creme brûlée was a delightful end to the evening.
Their American style was the mildest tasting hot bean water- almost like they accidentally re-used beans. That was weird. Next time I’ll get espresso with dessert.
Service was okay, ambiance was okay (we sat inside).
Overall: a decent experience but not outstanding.
Great food and service. They need to repair or replace the chairs on the patio as they are the worn out snd mine had a huge hole in the seat that I didn’t realize until I stood up to leave (so look before you sit!). But besides that is was a great experience.
Overall fantastic! I will definitely go back next time I’m in Santa Barbara. Wonderful food and great service except for the snarky hostess.
The special, the veal scaloppini in marsala sauce, was delicious; best I've ever had. It was beautifully accompanied by perfectly roasted potatoes, broccolini, and green beans. My husband's meal, the fish stew, was also delicious and very spicy. The carpaccio appetizer was terrific and the lemon tart with shaved chocolate was an artistic and gustatory masterpiece!
OyL has been my favorite restaurant in SB for years. Not sure why, possibly Covid remnants, it just wasn't as amazing as usual. The ambiance was off. The service initially was surprisingly a bit uppity, but got better after a bit. The food was not quite as amazing as usual. I am not giving up on them, just hoping they get back to amazing!
Came here for our anniversary. Ambiance was nice but food was nothing to write home about.
Enjoyed traditional feel and well prepared food. I could
have been in Italy!
Dining at Olio e Limone is like taking a trip to Sicily. The food and service are exceptional. Best Italian restaurant in Santa Barbara!
It was very enjoyable, food was interesting and delicious
Fantastic food and service!!!
Great signature cocktails! The duck ravioli and filet with truffle oil was excellent!
Food was amazing
Will definitely go back
This restaurant is always excellent. The indoor ambience isn’t great as it just reopened for indoor service but it was mostly because of a lot of unoccupied tables the service was great and the food is always exceptional.
Really good food. Really good service. Wine list was limited though. You may want to bring your own.
Everything was excellent—steak cooked to perfection, pasta special was sublime. One of the rare excellent Italian restaurants in Santa Barbara that I would return to in a second! A bit pricey but worth it!
Food was fantastic. Service was wonderful. Ambience was elegant. What can I say? Go there. You will not be disappointed.
The food was wonderful and the service was terrific. A very enjoyable evening.
The food was excellent but the service was exceptional!
It was my wife’s birthday and we were immediately met with a glass of an Italian drink.
But, unfortunately, my wife started experiencing back pains due to a recent surgery.
When I explained to the server what he as happening, he started clearing the table and bringing in the special dessert for my wife.
He made my wife a top priority and I sincerely appreciated it.
I don’t give 25% often but I did tonight. The server deserved it.
Absolutely fantastic. Easily the best meal we had in Santa Barbara. One of the best Carbonaras I’ve ever had, including in Italy. The servers were so nice and friendly. I would eat there every day.
Quick waiter service. Delicious food. Friendly service. No wonder they're awarded as one of the best restaurants in the US. Glad we found this place! :) Made our anniversary lunch even more special. Thank you.
Olio e Limone has always been my favorite restaurant. I am delighted it is open again for inside dining as well as outside dining. The service is friendly but very professional.
My friends and I enjoyed delicious lunch which brought an added joy to our ability to be together once again.
Delicious food and great menu selections.
Food and service was good. Good value for quality food
Our server was fabulous - attentive yet not pushy and very polite. We enjoyed everything except the salad which was nothing special but that would not keep us from returning!
loved everything on the menu
The service is consistently attentive and gracious. The food is deliciously inspired.
Excellent & friendly service, wonderful food & nice outdoor atmosphere with heaters. Vibrant spot.
Food was less than enticing. Service very slow even though they were not busy
Some of the best Italian food I have had in Santa Barbara, if not the best. Estaban, the waiter, was so gracious and knowledgeable about wine and he made the experience even better. Definitely will go back!
Duck ravioli was excellent. Had a very good red wine from Sardinia. Great service. Excellent meal...
Fantastic Italian food with an emphasis on Sicilian. The ragu was incredibly good. A perfect place to celebrate our anniversary.
Delicious food, excellent service, best of Santa Barbara
A very loud table took something off the evening
